BEWARE: They will give your equipment away or sell it. I went in hopes that they could tell me why my HP Spectre 360 x, (paid over $1,000 when it first came out) wasn't charging anymore. I was trying to save my valuable data including photos, music, and my own productions. Larry told me that he would check it out. A couple weeks pass by without any notice so I call and they let me know they are still looking into it. More time passes and no news, telling me they are looking into it and Larry will call me back. About 3 months later, and they tell me they cant find it. 4 months later I am moving and they have not responded about my laptop, at this point ignoring me and not returning any call. , they never did to begin with. Almost 8 months later and they have chosen to not respond still and my laptop is missing. My theory is they kept it, gave it away, or sold it. Regardless it was my property and they did not have consent to do this and it hadn't even been a year. What is wrong with you Team Nerds? Have the decency or respect to call a trusting customer back... I cant believe I have to consider resorting to small claims against a local business like this. read more

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. I went to them because my computer wouldn't turn on. He said he tried everything, but wasn't able to turn it on and still charged me $85. Got a new computer, he was not able to do a PC to PC transfer, messed up my Microsoft Word subscription he wasn't able to scratch off the back to get the code. He wasn't able to install the McAfee on the new computer. Now it makes sense on why he wasn't able to transfer the data or start my old computer ABSOLUTELY INCOMPETENT!!!!! and I was charged another $85 in total I spent $170 for him to on nothing waste of time. DO NOT bring your electronics here if you value your time or your money, as this was easily the worst service I have ever experienced. I brought in two computers: my personal PC, which was working perfectly before I upgraded the GPU, AIO cooler, and case but wouldn't turn on afterward, and a second build I was putting together as a gift for my cousin to get him off his old Xbox One. For his gift, I used a mix of brand new parts and the old parts from my own PC, which had been working perfectly fine. Team Nerds took over a month just to look at them. To make matters worse, they only fixed one of the systems and charged me a $420 despite not needing to replace a single part the technician claimed I had just bent the CPU pins while installing my new AIO so all they did was unbend the pins and that took a month to do and $420. They returned my cousin's unfixed computer as a disgusting, super dusty mess. Their communication was terrible throughout the entire month; they never proactively updated me and only replied days after I went out of my way to ask for status reports. I finally demanded the unfinished computer back because I refused to wait another month just to get ripped off again. 0/10, save yourself the headache and take your business literally anywhere else. read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this company. I was charged $85 for a service that was never completed, and I still have not received a refund. There is nothing stated on the receipt explaining their policy regarding unfinished services or refunds, which makes the situation even more frustrating. I have tried multiple times to contact them to resolve this issue, but they do not return phone calls and have not responded to my attempts to communicate. Customer service has been completely unhelpful and unfriendly. Another concerning issue is that you cannot freely enter the business you have to be let in and out, which makes the entire experience uncomfortable and inconvenient. At this point, I've made every reasonable effort to rectify the issue, but they have not taken responsibility. I would strongly advise others not to bring their devices here. Liar and cheating. Larry took my used computer (with 3090Ti and all top parts, imagine how expensive the whole computer is, I used it for only 4 months, I will say the computer worth at least $4000) and Larry promised that they will help to sell it because I would be travel out of US. Larry signed a contract with me to help me to sell it. And that was in September 2021. After that, fewer and fewer response from the store . I Asked about progress but being ignored. I Asked about the eBay link but was refused. As of the link, Larry firstly said it was listed on eBay, I asked for the link several times but no response. finally he said it was listed on offer-up instead, they didn't list it on eBay from the beginning, and said that they were not able to sell it during 10 months' listing. I will seek assistance from layer team. However I'm Very very disappointed... I trusted this team but now feel like I'm fooled. Mike was extremely professional and easy to work with, and I would say went above and beyond of what I asked of him. The prices weren't unreasonable, and my computer is free of viruses! What presents this from being a 5 star review is that my computer was returned to me without any sound, nor compatibility with my camera (I also had to redownload my computer apps, but Mike did tell me that, and it wasn't hard to do so anyways). Unfortunately, I have not been able to get the sound or camera working on my computer. Perhaps it is an obvious fix that I am missing, but I was not warned about it ahead of time, and have simply not been able to get it functioning so far. The lady gave me attitude and said that "they have been doing this for many years" and that she knew better. She argued that the issue was my charger even though i explained that it is not the charger because I had just replaced my computer charger with the appropriate one with the help of a Best Buy employee. She then continued to tell me that they charge $75 every hour just to have it looked at and not even fixed. That my computer would be in hold for 2 days just to look at it! Took my imac in for some issues . they recommended external hard drive . 245$ . paid it . couple months later hard drive problems . 135 for a operating system to be put back on it . i sat the power supply to close to the hard drive paid it . they told me the internal hard drive is no good . 2 weeks later same problem . no warranty . he can put about her operating system 135$ . I took to just tech solutions on Western by think prime. External hard drive would have never worked and the internal hard drive is working . 400 $ for nothing . Horrible experience this place will take advantage if you let them! I brought my laptop in because the charging port was damaged. I was asked to pay a $75 deposit which I did. I asked it that deposit would be applied to any labor done. I was told yes. I got a call 2 days later from them saying I would need a new port soldered on and the price could be up to $175.00 to $200.00. I was told my first 75.00 was used to open and clean inside (this takes 15min at best. I decided not to do further business with them and picked up my laptop. I brought my laptop elsewhere and they fixed it the same day. It gets better, my port did not need to be replaced and it is working perfectly! No hidden fee no bs $65.00 out the door. This business has become a complete joke. When my Mom moved to San Pedro I referred her to Larry & Team Nerds. Since then almost Every appointment seems to get cancelled or postponed. After making a house call to help out my 86 year old Mom, Larry took her I-phone that was acting up and then disappeared for 6 weeks. After numerous calls to the office which were never returned we finally were told it could be picked up at the office un-repaired. When I arrived to pick it up I was appalled at the condition of their store. Computer equipment was just scattered randomly around and it looked more like a teenagers garage. Then they wanted to charge an $85.00 fee for not fixing it. I have since learned that they have made numerous house calls to my Moms home, to fix minor computer problems and have billed her hundreds of dollars or the last couple of years for minor repairs that could have been handled by a phone call. I want to start my review off by stating that I received exceptional service from Larry. My computer crashed, so upon the recommendation of a friend, I brought my computer into Team Nerds. One of my main concerns was being able to retrieve my files. This was an unexpected expense so I was concerned about cost, but also the length of time it would take for the repair. When I brought in my computer and showed him the blue screen and message, he stated it might need an OS reinstall. If that was the case, he assured me that he would be able to save all of my files. As we were conversing, these are the many things he explained to me. 1. He would do a series of diagnostic tests, starting with the least costly, to see if it would be a simple repair. 2. It is a process of elimination, and that the result of each diagnostic test would determine the next step. 3. He would scan my computer for viruses. The anti-virus program I was using could possibly have missed a virus, so he wanted to make sure that wasn't an underlying cause. 4. If none of these processes worked, he would "ghost my files" to protect my data, reinstall the operating system, and then place my files back on my computer. This would be "worst case scenario." So with the worst case scenario, I asked how many hours that would require because of cost. That would have determined whether or not I could have left my computer for repair. He stated that it would take three hours. So I thought it would be ready in three hours. But the three hours was in terms of cost and actual physical hours of hands-on work. He told me the actual length of time would be based on how many files I had on my computer and the amount of time it would take to scan my system. In the past, having run "full system scans" on my own to check for viruses, I understood this process can take several hours. I think it is important to note that these are hours I was not charged for. After exhausting all other possibilities, it was determined that my OS needed to be reinstalled. Due to Larry's expertise and diligence, my computer is running perfectly and all my files are intact. I read the negative reviews about Team Nerds on yelp. If I hadn't been given a recommendation by a friend, those negative reviews may have swayed me from patronizing Team Nerds. I think that is very unfair, which is why I am giving a detailed account of my experience. I think it's important for people to realize that this business cannot stay afloat repairing one computer at a time. Larry is busy because he has built a successful business. He has appointments with other clients outside of his store. While he was on service calls, his assistant Michael, was manning the shop. Diagnostics were running on my computer while he was out, and he would check the progress once he was back in the shop. He called me with periodic updates to keep me informed. I also called a few times and spoke to Michael. It is a stressful process to have to wait for a repair, but patience is necessary if you want the job done right the first time. Integrity and a strong work ethic are difficult to come by in the service industry. Larry possesses both of these important qualities. read more

Don't take your computer here. I needed a simple ram upgrade and some cleanup. Called this place on Friday, was told 2 hours if I could wait until noon Monday. Waited the weekend, took it in, went over to Target next door to kill time; four hours later the guy said they only got one of the two 4-gig sticks I needed, and that they needed to keep it overnight and they would call me in the morning. Tuesday morning, no call. I just decided to cut my losses and go and pick it up at noon with only half the job done. They did not seem to care about getting me back up and running, and I lost a day of work and could have lost another day or more. Plus, the guy I dealt with did not seem to know the first thing about my machine, and seemed intimidated by a woman asking him questions--seriously.
