The 3D design they showed us before starting really helped us feel confident about the choices we were making. And the finished product looked almost exactly like the rendering. I am *really* fussy about hiring contractors. So many of them conduct their business sloppily and…read moreunprofessionally I can't believe they stay in business at all. So I do my research and am VERY selective in who I hire when our house needs work. My wife and I hired Andy Fernandes and Adval and they proved to be the real deal. Andy was *always* prompt - every time he or anyone from his company was scheduled to arrive they arrived early. Andy and his crew were communicative, clearly very knowledgeable, and straightforward, which is to say that they told me *and showed me* what was really happening and not what they wanted to promise or what they thought we wanted to hear. And they followed through exactly as they said they would. The quality of their work was outstanding. We had a few kitchen cabinets that had gotten damaged by the 2014 Napa quake and were looking like they were going to fall off the wall. Andy sent over a master carpenter (he spent years building stuff for moneyed people on Martha's Vineyard, who can be quite demanding) who didn't "upsell" us by telling us one of the cabinets needed to be rebuilt (the build cabinet in their own shop), he showed us in detail exactly what the problem was and convinced skeptical me that a new cabinet built from real plywood instead of the particle board of the cabinets the flipper who sold us the house had installed was the way to go. They reused the facing from the old cabinets, so the match was immaculate. Price-wise, yeah, they weren't the cheapest I could have found, but they were most definitely not close to the high end, they were right in the ballpark, and I figure if I demand quality I have to be wiling to pay for it. And we most decidedly got what we paid for. I repeat again that I am VERY picky about contractors, but I unhesitatingly give Adval Construction my highest recommendation. Our job was pretty small, but I would hire them for a big job in a heartbeat. This is the way construction contracting is supposed to work.

I saw all of these 5 star reviews for Home Quality Remodeling and I thought 'they seem too good to…read morebe true'. We interviewed 4 companies for our project; which was a bedroom refresh (including removing popcorn from the ceiling) and a full bathroom remodel. All of the companies were around the same as far as cost for what we wanted on the bathroom. One of the companies didn't seem to want the bedroom part of the project and were really over charging for it. One of the representatives couldn't seem to keep times and dates straight, so we were down to two companies. We have never done a remodeling project like this and I had A LOT of questions. Shay at Home Quality Remodeling took the time to answer the many questions that I had, and he came back multiple times to lay out what we wanted. He was low pressure and patient, and he really seemed to want the business. So we went with him. Shay spent a lot of time explaining processes that I didn't really understand...I'm sure that I tried his patience more than a few times. Like many people, we went into this remodel project imagining all of the things that can go wrong and an idealized version of what we wanted. While there were a few hiccups, everything was completed ahead of schedule and totally to our satisfaction. The team who was on site doing all of the work were courteous and helpful. They cleaned up often and thoroughly and were willing to do more than required to make sure that the job was up to their exacting requirements. When all is said and done, we are very happy with the final result and wouldn't hesitate to have these guys do more work in the future. So I am adding to the five star review-although some of the processes were a challenge, the end result deserves no less than five stars I am somewhat embarrassed with the before pictures, you don't really see how bad things are until you see the improvement - from a 30 year old raising three boys beat the hell out of it bathroom to the new, luxurious bathroom that we have now.

This past year I hired Home Quality Remodeling to remodel my two upstairs bathrooms (the master…read morebath and guest bath). This included a complete demo of the master bath (including removing the tub and extending the shower) and partial demo of the guest bath. I was very happy and pleased with the results. From the beginning of the design phase through the final touches of the "punch list" my HQR Project manager, Ronnie Illan, was in constant contact with me. He helped me with materials questions, project timelines and even picked up some of the materials for me. From the beginning it was clear my satisfaction was his number one priority. The contractors HQR used on my project were equally friendly and easy to communicate with. Even when I made some changes in the middle of the remodel (which is bound to happen!) everyone was friendly and accommodating. In short, I was very pleased with the work HQR did and I would highly encourage others to include them when you are getting bids...I'm sure you won't be disappointed! Attached are pictures of both remodeled bathrooms. I've included pictures of the original master bath as well as the 3D rendering of the remodeled master bath BEFORE any work was done. Notice how close the new Master Bath is to the 3D rendering.

Although I've decided to put the project on hold for personal reasons (finishing a campervan project first!), I wanted to specifically highlight Ron's incredible professionalism and dedication. I did a lot of research for this project, and Green Group was the only one out of five companies that offered both competitive pricing and a payment plan that strictly followed California law. That level of transparency and commitment to legal standards is rare and was deeply appreciated. We spent over three weeks going back and forth on the quotation and contract details. Ron was extremely patient, answering every single question I had and providing a highly detailed, transparent 16-page proposal. If you're looking for a team that is thorough, communicative, and professional, I highly recommend reaching out to Ron. They will be my first call as soon as I'm ready to move forward with the conversion!

There were minor issues several months after the project was competed. My husband and I am so pleased with the workmanship that was performed in our home. Everything was done per our requests. Four years later, it all looks just as good as when it was newly completed. When you meet this man and see his smile and he shakes your hand, you now you are off to a solid start. Honest, ethical, caring, responsible and fair. That is what we should expect from a good Contractor and it can be so lacking these days. Tim came over and did the initial assessment for an issue I had with a mechanical awning at my house on a Sunday! Amazing! One of his Handy Men, Andrew, came out within the next 3 days and ended up doing the work. A job I feared would take 4-5 hours was done in less than 1 hour because Andrew figured out how to fix the issue by getting creative. His fix not only saved time but also money. He worked efficiently and did not lollygag just to run up the hourly bill. So grateful to find a great company with great employees who say what they mean, show up to your home on time and get the job done efficiently. I wholeheartedly recommend this company for any general conracting and handyman work.

The existing flat roof was beyond repair, so Sean came out to discuss replacement options. He was professional, informative, and down-to-Earth and explained the pros and cons of modified bitumen torch down vs. TPO, batt (fiberglass) insulation vs. poly iso boards, and he even quoted a new pitched roof. My wife and I ultimately decided to reslope along with 60-mil TPO and 4-inch poly iso insulation boards. Permitting went smoothly and work commenced quickly. Almost immediately the demo crew discovered several unexpected roof layers that had accumulated over decades of previous ownership, and Sean graciously charged us for removal of only a single additional layer. The original plan was to reuse the existing downspouts. However, due to the thickness of the TPO and insulation boards, another change order was necessary to purchase seamless aluminum gutters and downspouts. Sean kept me up to date throughout the process, sending daily photos from an overhead drone and answering our many questions regarding structures and materials. Upon project completion some damage to the existing skylight was discovered. Sean generously offered to replace the skylight free of charge, going so far as to order a custom model to fit the non-standard opening dimensions. In retrospect, we should have better heeded Sean's advice to expect some debris. Although Golden Heights cleaned up all material outside, I spent days afterwards removing dust, dirt, and debris that fell through to the garage. Tarps over essentials instead of packing up would be recommended. In the month or so since then we've experienced multiple rains without any issues. The new slope, gutters, and downspouts channel water flawlessly. Despite the current heat wave, the bright, white TPO and insulation are keeping the house around 15 °F cooler than the outside without any active cooling. And we've gotten compliments from neighbors on the implemented changes. All in all, I highly recommend Golden Heights Remodeling for roofing projects both small and large. Their crews are professional, and Sean keeps you informed every step of the process.
