I went in for a pedicure and they took me right back. I didn't have much time and needed just the basic pedicure. The ambiance was very nice, the entire place was clean... even the bathroom! The lady that did my toes was quiet but friendly. It was a bit too warm in the shop so I asked if they could adjust the temp and they did with no hesitation. I will definitely return.

What a terrible experience! I desperately needed a manicure, but my go-to nail techs (shoutout to…read moreSoniya and Lisa!) weren't available. So, I ended up with whoever was free, and it was pretty obvious why they weren't already booked. I made a last-minute appointment for a quick manicure, and I got stuck with Vivian, who gave me one of the worst manicures ever. It felt like she didn't want to be there at all. All I wanted was my cuticles trimmed and nails shaped--no gel, dip, tips, just my natural nails. That wasn't her vibe. She skipped the buffing block and did a lousy job filing and shaping. I even had to remind her to make my nails the same length, which she huffed about. When I washed my hands, she asked if I wanted clear nail polish. I said no, and she said, "You're done." I had to ask about the warm towel and hand lotion, and she brought those out all begrudgingly. I paid in cash, and she just walked off when I asked for change to leave a tip. So, I ended up leaving my tip at the front desk, which is incredible since I've been coming here for years. I hope they provide her with some customer service training.

I called to see if I could book an appointment and was able to come in immediately. When I arrived, it was fairly quiet. Hanna was my technician. She was very personable and I was happy to converse with her since I am self-conscience speaking in Vietnamese and she understood me. Hanna helped me pick a summery color and I decided to go with hot pink which she said complemented my skin tone. She was thorough and took her time. She informed me that the salon is under new management and it has been renovated with different wall color, hardwood floor, and updated workstations and massage chairs. The salon looks sleeker, modern, and more upscale. I highly recommend Hanna!

However, I really try to support not just local businesses, the Mom & Pops, but Black Owned Businesses. And...I was pleasantly surprised! I was a Walk-In. I've gone to other nail salons where I was made to feel that being a "walk-in" was frowned upon. But not here! I literally waited 63 seconds and they were apologetic about that...lol Now, I don't get pedicures as often as I should, so it's always like it's my 1st time. So, there were 1st time jitters. Shout out to my technician, Asia, who made me feel comfortable with my lil questions & give me tips & advice regarding maintaining my feet. I received the Men's Pedicure Treatment...they spared me from looking at all their offerings & me sitting there trying to figure out what to choose from...lol. They said, "Most of our Men customers choose THIS." And that what I happily went with. The salon is very well kept & they offer complimentary Wine with your service, which is a nice personalized touch. I was extremely satisfied with my Pedicure & look forward to returning! I came in hoping to unwind after having a very difficult day mentally, but the experience only made things worse. The technician who worked on my pedicure made several negative comments about my feet that felt unnecessary and borderline insulting. Instead of making me feel comfortable, I felt judged and embarrassed. The most concerning part of my visit was when he used the pumice bar. He scrubbed my heel so aggressively that it began to bleed. My heel immediately started hurting and stinging, and I was shocked that a relaxing service resulted in an injury. No one expects to leave a pedicure in pain. I understand that feet can require extra care, but there is a respectful and gentle way to communicate with clients and perform a service. I left feeling hurt--both physically and emotionally. I hope the salon takes customer care more seriously and ensures technicians treat clients with kindness and use appropriate care during services.

I FINALLY FOUND IT FOLKS!!!…read more I've been going to Refresh Nail Spa since winter 2023, after searching for salons that offer drill-free manicures and focus on natural nail care like IBX treatments. I ended up finding Bernadette, an independent nail tech who works there--and she's been an absolute gem. While she does use a drill (contrary to what I originally searched for), she's incredibly skilled, gentle, and precise--so much so that it never damages my nails. Her technique is both efficient and mindful, striking the perfect balance between machine and hand filing. Initially, I was getting regular gel manicures, but Bernadette truly cares about nail health, and she suggested switching to builder gel (BIAB). It was a game-changer. Builder gel doesn't require soaking off and allows for continuous fills--meaning you can build on top of your last set without compromising nail integrity. Since switching, my nails have grown so long, strong, and healthy, and a single BIAB manicure can last me up to 6 weeks! Beyond nails, Bernadette is a wonderful person--easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and deeply caring. She also specializes in pedicures for clients with diabetes or other health conditions, which speaks volumes about her expertise and sensitivity to clients' unique needs. If you're looking for a thoughtful, health-conscious nail experience, I highly recommend Refresh Nail Spa and Bernadette in particular. My monthly visits have become something I genuinely look forward to.
