Came back for the actual service which was really great for when you are seeing someone new. I really liked the stylist and vibed with her. However, the quotes were a bit different from expected but especially the bizarre custom and not verbalized expectations about tipping different people and not paying the stylists directly. The older front desk lady was quite rude and loud about it- very brusque. I didn't want to make it more overwhelming as it already was with the confusing situation. However, I'd like to request management to ensure front desk staff be trained with friendly customer service for paying clients especially if they aren't aware of your custom. I'd like to continue seeing the person I saw next time around but I wouldn't come on the day the old rude lady is there.

I went from cutting my locs of 16 years to coming in for a Brazilian blowout and pixie cut. She skipped the last 3 steps of the brazilian blowout, cut my hair in the shape of a 70s Afro instead of pixie and didn't seal the style so my hair was ruined within 30 minutes of being outside directly after my appointment. There are quite a few things wrong with my experience. She was aware the brazilian was not done correctly and said she was willing to go over the areas that were not done correctly. When I mentioned how the cut was wrong her reply was, "I did the best I could". She did not mention how my hair was so badly damaged but said that is why certain parts are too short, when they were no were near that short when I came in. She told me to come in to get it fixed but also tried to make me get a hair treatment and when I denied she was conveniently unable to answer her phone or return my call/message so my hair was never fixed. She also waited until I was halfway through my hair appointment to tell me that she normally charges $450 for a Brazilian but because I have LITERALLY one inch of hair she did it for $300. After the product is put in the hair, it is supposed to be blow dried and then flat iron and then rinsed and then style. However, she did not rinse it, but the flat iron after the blow dry of the initial Brazilian product was how she finished my hair. And then told me afterwards that my hair texture takes better that way, which I find hard to believe. Bad experience once I got the true results. Do not recommend. Very money hungry lady that appears friendly and well meaning. She also gave me a warning that she is not gentle so yes, she yanked my hair plenty of times. I was patient while in the chair but now I'm actually furious about my experience, lack of customer service and transparency.

My experience at the salon was amazing! Chantell was very professional and made me feel safe with her COVID precautions. She started on my hair right away and was kind and very gentle with my THICK hair. I've NEVER had such a pain-free experience in a salon EVER. She washed my hair with steam and carefully detangled my hair while conditioning and throughout the straightening process. I was very comfortable the entire experience and trusted her recommendations. The time flew by and even though she was able to fit in another customer while working with me, I never felt like I was pushed to the side like other stylists tend to do because of how much hair I have. I purchased a serum from her to help keep my strands in check, which worked perfectly and allowed me to wear my pressed style confidently for over 2wks and when I finally did wash it, my curls were the softest they have been after a blowout. I was truly impressed. Most stylists have suggested that I get my hair straightened and ends clipped more, but I have not trusted them enough to actually do so. She was very efficient while also ensuring that my hair retained its natural moisture and health. She made sure that she respected my time due to my meeting later that evening. When I returned home, I did notice that the toner didn't take on a small but noticeable section of my hair that was noticeably blonde. I immediately texted Annum to let her know and she squeezed me in the same day to reapply the toner for the area, which was a very quick fix. Not every hair stylist would show this level of dedication to ensure that I had the best experience. After a month, the color has held up beautifully and I've received endless compliments on her work. Long story short, I came to Annum after nearly 2 years of not letting anyone touch my hair because of a disaster that left me in tears with shoulder length hair when I was supposed to only get an inch off my super long hair (obvs, this wasn't her who did it). Now I literally only trust Annum to do my hair and recommend her to all my coworkers, friends, and family. Not only is she precise with all her cuts and color, she can also recommend what she thinks will be flattering for you which is especially nice for people who may not come in with inspo pictures. After she brought life back to my sad hair, I trusted her to finally go ahead and give me some color with a balayage. I haven't looked back since then and have only been going lighter with each visit! The best part is that even several months later, my balayage looks fresh and perfect despite my hair growing out. I personally give her creative freedom and trust her with whatever color she thinks is gonna look great on me but you can always bring/show her what you want and she'll recreate it to the best of her abilities! Remember folks, every artist is different and uses different techniques so an exact recreation isn't really possible. She's great at listening to what you want while also protecting your hair from any unnecessary damage and if you aren't happy with it (which I'm sure is rare) she'll fix it! Like I said before, if you aren't happy for whatever reason; let her know and she'll fix it. You'll be hard pressed to try and find ANY salon or stylist that'll refund you for any reason. However, my last appointment on October 13th, the outcome is not positive, and thus, I am leaving my review and pictures to substantiate the 1 star. 98% of my communications with Danielle is through text messages. I understand each industry has their own pricing, and I realize that the cost of weaves can be expensive. My weaves are $495 every 6-7 weeks. ($210 for the hair & $285 for the shampoo/quick weave). September 25th, I paid for the hair and asked if Danielle did sew-in weaves vs quick weaves using bonding glue. She does. it's $300. OK. $15 more than my current cost of $285. The day of my appointment, I agreed with Danielle's professional advice to have her sew in the last row in the back instead of sewing in the entire weave which is what I asked for through text. It's November 11th and my hair is coming apart. I don't think for $495, I should be gluing in tracks. I texted Danielle about how much is a touch up because the back is still a problem and no response . "Still" means I have issues in the past.
