I love love pizza and been wanting to try this place for awile. It's located square in the middle of quaint downtown Merced. It was my first time there and it's a small yet spacious little spot with upstairs area to boot. I was greeted on arrival and the service was friendly and helpful. I had the coconut shrimp which is always on my radar to try and they didn't disappoint. I tried the Torino white sauce pizza with chicken minus the bacon (i don't eat pork) and added bbq sauce and pineapple because I read it on one of the yelp reviews and it sounded good, it was. I was very pleased. It's definitely worth the short trip from Modesto to try it out. Pro tip: there is parking behind the building which will be much easier to find parking. read more

Destino's is always a very solid choice. One of the better Italian casual restaurants in the entire Central Valley. Service is always welcoming and friendly. Food is consistent..the rigatoni was simple but good. Could have used fresh ground pepper but still really good. Only taking away a star because I saw the menu on Yelp and wanted the Italian sausage pasta, but they rotate menus on the weekend do was a bit disappointed. Still a really good visit read more

Always a safe bet. Great for small or large groups. We had family in town the other day and we all popped into Destino's for pizza and drinks. Perfect! Easy, fun, affordable. They put together a bunch of tables upstairs and it was an instant party. Pizzas were delicious! For an appetizer you gotta get the garlic cheesy pizza bread and the bruschetta. Delicious food with a great atmosphere! There is construction going on around downtown, but don't worry they are still open. The chicken was perfectly crispy, yet still juicy. The sauce on the chicken was full of flavor. It came with pasta, but that one did lack some flavor. The service was great and the food was out within 15 minutes. A mixed bag review here. The staff was super friendly and efficient. We walked in 15 minutes before closing but was still encouraged to come in and enjoy. Oktoberfest beers were ice cold and delicious. The chicken salad was made to perfection and so large it couldn't be finished. That's the good stuff. I ordered the Oktoberfest special and it was terrible. The bratwurst was not bratwurst in my opinion. This tasted like a jalapeño spiced Italian sausage that just didn't go. We recently had lunch here and they definitely serve big portions. We saw really great reviews so we decided to come here. As soon as we walked in, you can tell right away that the service was gonna be great. We were greeted with friendly faces and happy servers. Once we were seated I noticed several tables and seating upstairs too. We sat downstairs but the servers were really on point with waiting on all the tables up and down stairs. The place is really cute. It's warm and welcoming. If you're in the area and looking for a nice place for lunch or dinner then you should check this Italian restaurant out. Prices are not too bad and we had plenty of leftovers left. The only thing is the parking. First off, when you walk in the place may seem small, but they have two levels. If there is a server able to host guest on the second level, then you will enjoy eating upstairs. However, if not, do not worry, the place offers good vibes. The servers are top notch and friendly. When it comes to choosing from the menu, it can be tough considering all the delicious options. I had their fresh pepperoni pizza, roast beef sandwich, sidewinder fries, and fresh salad. I even had one of their specialty drinks, the Moscow Mule. Most recently, I enjoyed their Roast Beef Sandwich served with Sidewinder fries and Au Ju juice. The roast beef was packed with flavor as I dipped it into the Au Ju juice, my favorite part. We sat upstairs and it was on a very hot day but it was comfortable. Both our server and host asked if we were cool enough. We actually parked and were going to try the other Italian restaurant down the road but the body language and tone of the bartender and host were as if we were a nuisance so we walked out and walked 800 feet down the street and glad we did. My boyfriend and I love coming here for our date night whenever we can. He always gets the margarita pizza, which is absolutely delicious, it always comes out hot and always has such great flavor. I also really appreciate that the crust is cooked through and crunchy, but not overcooked or burnt. I always get the Shrimp Scampi Linguine. It is absolutely delicious, if that was my last meal then I'd be happy to have eaten that. The flavor is so wonderful, the noodles are cooked perfectly every single time. I love that it comes with a piece of garlic bread and that is delicious as well, it has great seasonings and matches perfectly with the pasta spices and flavors in the pasta. The first time I got the pasta, the waiter mentioned he added the alfredo sauce in it, and I refuse to get the pasta without that alfredo sauce in it. One of my all-time favorite dishes here. Appetizers we've had: Bruschetta, Beer Battered Cheese Bites, Fried Cheese Ravioli. The Bruschetta is delicious, the bread is crunchy and the tomato toppings have great flavor just from themselves, and it's the perfect amount of balsamic vinegarette that doesn't empower anything but simply adds to the flavor of it all. The Beer Battered Cheese Bites are wonderful! The crunch of them is perfect, and the side of marinara sauce it comes with has such great flavor with the seasonings in it. My boyfriend could die for the Fried Cheese Ravioli. Absolutely delicious! Every time we've been here, the wait staff have been so wonderful with making sure that we're taken care of. One thing that matters most to me when eating at a restaurant, is how well the waiter/waitress can take care of making sure our drinks don't stay empty for too long and we've never had this problem here. I also ordered the Verona pizza it was delicious as well but the Italian sausage on it was very bland no flavor to it.. wanted to try almost everything on the menu had a lot of good selections can't wait to go back & try other dishes! They did change their prices from the previous menus it got a little pricier. I like the location it was located with other little shops & restaurants. The inside of the restaurant was nice it's like a little Italian pizza shop on the bottom & on top was bigger. Our server was very friendly good service with everything. We have always loved Destino's, but our dinner last night didn't quite live up to our previous experiences and expectations. We had family from out of town, and we checked the menu ahead of time, finding that they had something for each of us. We wanted steak, spaghetti squash, salmon, and cioppino--two of these are no longer on the menu, and the other two only on certain nights. We did find alternate choices, and they were good, but were disappointed that our first choices were not available. Service was good. read more

Came here on a Wednesday evening for a work dinner/party and had a blast! Making a reservation for a party of 12, at 3PM, on a random Wednesday in Merced sounds like it'd be easy, and it wasn't- Destino's was one of the only locations open from 3-5PM and available for reservations- but I am so glad we chose this spot. Staff were attentive, patient, and helpful to all 12 of us having dinner. One thing to note is they only allow a tab to be split maximum of 3 weeks on parties larger than 8 (we made it work- but this could be complicated for large parties depending on occasion). All of our drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic were delicious, appetizers came out quickly and were also super yummy, all of our food was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Every person loved their meal, and we were extremely full when leaving the venue (appetizers are all very good shareable servings)! I highly recommend this place for large dinner parties and will definitely be returning for a date night. 9.5/10! read more
