I am from Calif but we also have a home in Athens, Ga. I am always looking for BBQ places to try…read moreout. Tried most of them in the Athens area and did not find anything worth going back for. We went to Madison today for a day trip and I looked for BBQ places. Saw the reviews for Crowe's BBQ and decided to try. Glad we did. I got the brisket plate. My #1 brisket I have ever had was Kreuz BBQ in Lockhart, TX. The next on my list is JW Hayes n Newport Beach, CA.- very similar to Kreuz and told me he fashioned his after Kreuz. Now I have a #3- which ranks right up there with Kreuz and the JW Hayes. The brisket was so tender and fell apart when you pick it up. Just the right amount of smoke flavor. So good. My wife ordered the pulled chicken sandwich and said it was the best she ever had. And she is VERY picky, so I was surprised. I tried hers and it was very tender as well. Now I am tempted to go back to try out their bbq ribs. Now I have my list of top 3. On to find the next one for my list.

I personally have watched every single season of gossip girl, and nothing could compare to the drama in this place. Service was awful, some guy gave me the stank eye, and my food was bad. The ribs looked like they came out of a snarklack pit from star wars and smelled like it too. Never come here.

This was a fabulous stop in more ways than one. We arrived late, having gotten tied up in Columbia…read moretraffic as we're heading west through Atlanta. Rather than try getting through the city and driving too much after dark, we opted to stop here for the night. "For the night?" you might ask? Yes, Cracker Barrel allows RVers to use their parking area for overnight parking with the polite request that if you're having a meal, you do so with them. In the morning, we slept late and decided that yes, some French Toast here before heading into Atlanta would be a good idea. We were through the door just after they opened at 7am and were immediately seated. Our food order did not take long at all. French Toast for Mrs. K. Biscuits and gravy and two basted eggs for me with sausage patties. Delicious, filling and no, not keto compliant but I'm on vacation. We were out and on the way before 7:45 with full tummies and that lasted a good while. Hooray for Cracker Barrel! [Review 469 of 2026 - 956 in Georgia - 25652 overall]

I'll start off by saying that we love Cracker Barrel and eat the one near us regularly. Usually…read morethey are pretty consistent. We ate at this location during a trip and it was pretty disappointing. Took quite a while to get our food, but I could've lived with that had the food not been so questionable. I was served "scrambled eggs" in a configuration I have never before encountered in my life. I can only describe them as a fried egg that was stirred around a little bit while cooking. I'm not even sure how you get hired to cook at a Cracker Barrel if that's what you think scrambled eggs are. Then, I found a hair in my fried apples. My husband said his hash brown casserole tasted strange and left a strange taste in his mouth. It was just overall a disappointing experience at one of our favorite and usually reliable chains.
