The service was great but the food could have been a little better. They have a bunch of daily specials which is really cool. My wings were dry and my wife's steak was really bland. The burger also could have used some more seasoning as well. Overall the steak and burger was cooked well, just didn't have flavor. The atmosphere is really cool and it does feel like you are part of the town. The food just could be better.

We stopped in here on our way to the high school football game. The staff were helpful and kind. The restaurant looked like a neighborhood pub and families were inside dining. It is located on the main strip in the downtown area. We were going to take our food to-go but decided to stay and eat there. We paid right at $30 for two sandwiches and two drinks. The food was good. It could have been seasoned a bit more, but it was good. The service was good too. All of the employees we interacted with were so kind and polite. There are televisions on several walls so this would be a good place to come and watch the game. There was also another seating area past the bathrooms.

The was great. I had the grilled pork chop, garlic mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. My plate was clean and I was full at the end of the meal which is not common for me when dining out. We had the bang bang shrimp as an appetizer and that was great as well. The sweet tea hit the spot and we got some to go. We also got a slice of buttermilk pie to go and it survived our ride back to the Augusta area and was still great. I'm giving a 4 instead of a 5 because I was seated next to a door and the cold air was doing a number on me. Also think we came in during a shift change and it took a while for us to be attended to. Our server was great though once we were attended to!

Obviously this spot was doing a good business as they were super busy. The waitress was kind and took care of any special requests. They were a little slammed which probably accounted for the slower than desired service. The Patty melt left me lacking. The club sandwich was ok but needed something to up the flavor. I think the stars of the show were the sweet potato fries with cinnamon butter and the spinach dip with thin, crispy tortilla chips . The restrooms were clean and the staff were friendly. Jury is still out on whether I'll come back.

Madison Chop House Grill is always a stop on our drive to North Carolina. We actually plan our departure time for our trip so that we are passing through Madison at lunch time. My husband always gets the same thing, fried pork chops, and I try something different each time we stop. This stop I had the rib eye tips with mushroom brown gravy and mashed potatoes with a house salad. We also shared some fried green tomatoes. I have never been disappointed with anything we have ordered. The vidalia onion salad dressing is my favorite. The restaurant is downtown, quaint and has indoor and outdoor seating. The servers are always helpful with suggesting their favorite dishes if you have a difficult time making a decision. I would suggest stopping by and giving it a try.

Fried Green Tomatoes & Thai Sweet chili Shrimp appetizers & Old Fashioned's. They have allotment bourbon but not cocktail cherries

Stopped in with friends while in town for a tournament on Oconee. Read the reviews of the spots in town & felt this was a good spot for good food & bar. Nice restaurant for families, couples or solo at the bar. We were Four guys - we ordered the shrimp & fried green tomatoes app which were both very good in portion, prep & taste. Very good. One steak dinner, a one pork chop dinner, shrimp & grits and the oldest dude ate like a teenager and had chicken tenders & fries. We ordered 2 sides of fried okra - all agreed it needed another min or two to cook but was still very good. Here is the only negative thing, and to our table- when you walk into a restaurant & by the bar... look up & see Blanton's, Eagle Rare & other excellent bourbons our heart skips a beat. NICE! But when you order an Old Fashioned & it comes with maraschino cherries - you ruin the entire experience. For the love of all things pure - order COCKTAIL CHERRIES! A good bartender would swing by Ingles & buy a couple of jars. Unacceptable. Period. Do better. How hard is it to include proper cherries from your supplier for one of the most popular drinks right now? Service was good on a very busy Friday night!

    Dry fish, instant mashed potatoes?

Wanted to give this 4 (or 5) stars but just can't bring myself to do that. Environment was great, decorations very comfortable, staff was super helpful, good country folks, menu was great and prices were good. Drinks came out quick and were good, but then our food came out.... crash and burn. "Chop house", right? Like steaks, right? So had to order a steak, broccoli and baked sweet potato. Broccoli was pretty sad, baked potato really under-cooked. It should be all mushy but was still really solid, couldn't saw much of it out of the skin. The steak "looked" good, and the seasoning was great, perfectly medium rare, but OMG.... this things was more a lot more fat than meat. Like 3/4 fat if not more. Could not stomach much of it and had to work to find actual meat. My wife had fish, seasoned well but was really, really dry, and mashed potatoes were like instant. We really wanted it to be good, but even with the good prices, the food was not worth the money. Maybe an off night, seemed really popular so maybe an off night. I would say maybe not what we should have ordered, but others nearby were ordering the same thing. Madison looks like a cool little town and we were just passing through, but if we return, we'll probably head elsewhere.

A nice, concise menu. We gave it a good perusal and started with a couple appetizers. Their Fried Chicken Potstickers and the Baked Feta with pita bread. The potstickers were very good, a nice sear and a flavorful filling. The Baked feta was exceptionally good. Done old school, wrapped in foil with a little evoo and sliced tomato then baked until the feta was almost melting. So delicious and flavorful. It was a great appetizer and it reminded me of my days in Italy decades ago. I saw it on the nightly specials board walking in and went for their Ahi Tuna evenings special. It was beautifully prepared, seared to near perfect and just a delicious wondeful meal. Tender, succulent Ahi sliced. We had a great evening dining here with kind professional staff, a solid menu and a comfortable environment in which to enjoy it all 4.5 Stars rounded up for our server and host 01287

Reservations at 8, right on time. Walked in seated right away by the hostess. The standard server will be with you shortly here are your menus. Our waitress Summer had the timing down. Just as we figured out what we wanted from the drink menu she arrived. An old fashioned is our go to so two Seasonal Old Fashioned to start. We also ordered the baked Feta for appetizer. The interior is warm and open. Tables and chairs have plenty of room We sat overlooking the bar area (the bar is at a lower level). Only thing I would change is sitting at a table vs a High top. Drinks and appetizer arrived promptly. The baked feta was so good warm and creamy, tomatoes and seasoning provided depth. Summer provided the specials of the day as well as her thoughts on various entree. My wife originally was looking at a pasta w shrimp. Summer brought to our attention the pork chop - she said I know you think of how good can a pork chop be but ours is really amazing. So my wife changed her mind and went with the pork chop. I elected for the Red Fish atop orzo. Entrees arrived and wow they looked perfect. That pork chop was thick, nice crisp sear topped with apples ( sautéed perfectly not soggy). My red fish was well seasoned and tasted great. What amazed me was the spinach and tomato orzo! So creamy and subtle it complimented the fish so well. You can't have a Birthday without desert. Again Summer provided great recommendations and insights. Salted Caramel cheesecake for the birthday girl and I had the crème brûlée cheesecake cake. Both were very good not too dense and not fluff. The flavors were not overpowering so you enjoy the flies well as the taste of cheesecake. Price was what I expected, it's not bar food , priced appropriately. Remember I said reservations were at 8 ? They close at 9 and not once did we feel rushed. The staff, especially Summer treated us like the first customer of the evening. My wife digs the whole singing happy birthday , the dessert had the happy birthday message and Summer discreetly asked if she would like the happy Birthday song. They did, and looked like they had fun doing it. Awesome place we will definitely go back!

Every person we talked to was fun, funny and just a joy to hang with. Harlow was great (bartender). She concocted this olive spin on a Hugo Spritz. Wife absolutely loved it. Finally the food. Every thing we ordered was absolutely delicious. Massive truffle fries (called chips but more like logs lol), don't sleep on the Gouda Mac and cheese, farmer fresh sliced squash and my meal, the 12oz steak on a bed of Peruvian mash potato's with shiitake mushrooms rounded out with asparagus. We started with their Bread plate, a nice serving of fresh bread and a good start while waiting for our meal. I ordered a Black & Tan and it was not that, this is a traditional pub pour, with guiness and bass ale, with a distinct break between the two porter on the bottom and the ale is floated across the top. There was no break in my serving and it was not a traditional B&T. After giving the concise menu a look, I opted for the Fish and chips and a side of their Gouda and mac. Fish and Chips, Haddock, whole potato wedges tartar and ketchup with a lemon wedge. The fish was prepared very well, the potatoes like home style and the mac and cheese very good, rich creamy and tasty. The Haddock was a nice large filet, breaded lightly and tender. A good meal. A lot of folks the night of our visit ordered the Fish and it is obvious its one of their signature dishes. A solid choice for a meal in my book. 4 Stars A solid meal in a comfortable location 01286
