My first visit to a Waffle House ever! Once they found out that I was a Waffle House-newbie, three workers came up to chat and help us navigate the menu. So friendly and helpful! I went with the All-Star special with two eggs, scrambled, grits, toast, city ham (as opposed to country) and a waffle with peanut butter chips! All was good, simple, tasty food. The waffle with peanut butter chips was different, but hit the spot for this peanut butter lover. There wasn't a fight while we were there, it was a fun, exotic (for me) experience, and a good introduction to Southern hospitality! read more

Waffle House on 441 Madison Wr finally got a server...the first one had to leave for an issue at home. Kiki took our order and it still had not come after30minutes.it seems that another server had a similar order and took my husband's food. So, mine sat there and got cold while they remade his. My omelet was flat and unedible, grits almost melted the butter and my unbuttered toast was loaded with margarine​.We asked to speak to the manager/cook, he could not be bothered. I'm always having bad experiences at Waffle House. I always ask for extra blueberries in my waffle but they only use a little bit. I don't want to be an asshole & say I want more but I'm never satisfied. The service isn't always the best I guess because they see me & don't think I will tip well. I tip well to whom deserve it. The ambiance is not always nice. I'm assuming cause I'm black & the white people look at me sideways. That's why only go early in the mornings. Also, the music they play is exceptionally low to where you can barely hear it. I hope it improves. read more

Got in here at 1am all the tables had dirty plates on them. Girl is talking another girl and the chef looks at us, we look at him and ask are you open. He says yes but then precedes to look at each table that is dirty and says back to us oh sorry we don't have any clean tables. Since when did a restaurant turn you away cause their tables were dirty. WORST Wait Staff ever, in any WH, this morning! Waitress sitting down tells other waitress, I'll get his coffee. (Mine) She waits about 5-6 minutes before even standing up. No utensils when I finally get a first coffee. 5 of them talking about who got drunk last night, with only 2 hours sleep. Asking each other, Are you still drunk? I tried to tell myself, At least they came to work and have a job. Personally, I'd fire all but one of them who were in the restaurant this morning, kicked them out and locked the door. I was pretty let down with our experience here on 9-5-21. Myself & daughters attempted to dine in. They had plenty of employees working during this shift. We weren't acknowledged one time & just left to sit up front waiting for a free table (meanwhile there were two tables that simply needed to be cleaned) we continued to wait. The part that was over the top is they had the thermostat so low everyone was absolutely miserable. Kids crying, teeth chattering, the whole experience of being in an ice box. That is unacceptable. When you can visit so many locations in numerous states and your dining experience and the flavors are to the same standard everywhere, is a testament to the training and standards of the organization. Let me just say that this WH is absolutely amazing. We pulled up at 1am on an after work trip from Carolina to Atlanta, and there was a singular man by the name of Al working. He mentioned that the only server they had for the night quit, and that he was all alone. Quite frankly, he was absolutely amazing and took care of us well, and even cooked the fast fast and everything was delicious. I truly hope that he gets a raise or promoted or something because he absolutely deserves it. This was the best trip to a Waffle House we have ever made and we have no regrets. As a server myself, I understand what it's like to be short staffed, and Mr. Al did not let it phase him and worked hard for us and that's a rare thing to see these days. I ordered online at 750pm, and was told it'd be ready by 8:13pm. I showed up at that time, and told they hadn't started it yet. I then waited inside until 8:30, and asked for an update. I was told it still hasn't been started. I asked how long it would take now, and they said an additional 20 minutes. meaning it's been a full hour from placing my order until getting it. It was fairly busy, but not as busy as the server seemed to think it was. It took almost 20 minutes for a friend who arrived just after us to have her order taken. My wife's waffle was a little undercooked, it was impossible to get refills, my hashbrowns were almost burned and the chili and cheese I'd ordered were a distant dream. If the server had moved with a sense of urgency instead of a shuffle and a half, she may have gotten around to her three tables faster. read more
