I was in the valley and needed my nails done today. I went into this shop. The woman in front asked what I needed. I told her I needed a gel fill and two nails replaced. She quoted me $65. My nails are long, they are my own, covered in gel, and I've been doing this for YEARS....All over the country as I travel for work. $65 is about right. The assistant sat me down and drilled off all my gel color and the gel over my nails. The woman who was actually doing my nails came in a few minutes later. She kindly informed me my nails were long so they would be $70 and $10 for each fixed nail....A total of $90. This upset me because I was trapped and couldn't leave due to no gel on my nails....they would break. At this time an Asian man appeared and started SCREAMING at me. I mean top of his lungs SCREAMING. My nails were long; the price she gave me was wrong; She didn't speak English so she didn't understand what I was asking (!!!!!) He stood there ranting at me. This does not scare me....some irate Queen telling me he's the manager, he's a wonderful artist, etcetera. I told him TWICE to stop yelling at me. I had no choice but to stay and get my nails done. The girl KATEY who actually did my nails did AMAZING work. I told her how great her work was and that I was sorry I couldn't see her again. The only reason I'm leaving this is I saw the other reviews stating other women were screamed at by this man. That is unacceptable. I'm sure he treats the employees badly. SLOPPY SLOPPY SLOPPY I came in here 4 weeks ago to get a mani & pedi. The place was clean and the staff was very friendly, so I was really excited. The pedi was great! But the nails were SO poorly done that I had to get Henry (the owner) to fix it, which took an extra 20 mins. He apologized and said he needed to train his staff better and that I should definitely come back and ask for him next time. Which I did. I made a 12pm appointment with Henry. Henry didn't show up until 12:30pm, and when he did, they told me he was unavailable, and he immediately starts working on someone else!!! I was so mad because I had to leave for work. They blamed me, and said he only does designs. I WAS getting a design done, so I don't know how that mattered at all. A woman started working on my nails instead, and since it was a different woman than last time, I was looking forward to it being better. It wasn't. The same exact thing happened. She got the gel polish ALL over my cuticles and Katie had to come over and fix it all. Which meant wrapping my nail in foil and soaking it to remove it and redo them. I was there for 2 hours! For a gel manicure. The design was chrome, which just means they have to do an extra couple layers. I wasn't getting anything crazy done. It was $52. Katie apologized for everything and gave me 10% off, but it still doesn't make up for their staff being so poorly trained. And looking around, I didn't see ANY nail technician certificates, which would explain my theory that no one here knows what they're doing except for Katie and Henry. And you can't run a nail salon with just 2 people. And even if there were only 2 people, they should be available if you specifically ask for them, design or no design. What I'm mainly mad about is that they kept blaming me for their terrible work. They blamed me for my nails being too short. I get my nails done every 4 weeks, and no nail salon has EVER told me my nails are too short and that I should go home and take a shower to get the nail polish off of my skin. I don't pay for my nails to look WORSE after leaving a nail salon. So frustrating!!!! Especially when I gave them a second chance. read more

Walked in on a Saturday at 11am and was told to come back at 2pm. It wasn't crowded in there at all - just a few customers but only a few technicians. I returned at 2 pm and still had to wait about 20 minutes, but I'd say it was worth the wait. It's a clean nail salon with nice polishes to choose from and decent prices. I got a basic pedicure and they did a good job. I would return here as needed. I took away a star for the extra wait and interruptions during my pedicure - also I didn't feel as welcomed as the other customers who seemed to be regulars. Perhaps if I come more often they will treat me with the same enthusiasm and actually tell me thank you for spending money in their establishment. Update: acrylic nail broke /cracked really bad like 2 weeks later. They did a poor job on that part. I paid 120 dollars for ombré powder dip nails. No manicure is included at this price. The job was rushed but still looked beautiful. However after only one week, the nails began to lift up and crack. Very unusual in my experience. I am careful and always take care of my nails as I want them to last as long as possible. When I notified Henry of the issue there was no response. So, I returned to the establishment a couple days later, kindly inquiring if he would consider a slight discount to have them done again. That is the moment his demeanor flipped like a switch. For the last year, I've been coming here every two weeks or so. This is one of the cleanest and friendliest nail salons (extra love for Henry, Katie, and V). Every time I walk in, I'm greeted with the biggest "Hello Veronica!!", and big smiles on their faces. Henry or Katie always take care of me, whether I want a simple look or Henry/Katie will do a beautiful contrast nail. V always does my pedicures, and she is my absolute favorite. I always call ahead and book an appointment (even if same day) just to give the staff a heads up that I'm on my way so they can plan their clients accordingly. I've had a few "nail emergencies" where they've taken me in between clients for fixes of broken nails with no issues! I highly recommend this salon. I had such a wonderful experience at this salon! I had an event later that evening for an awards show and managed to walk in and get service immediately. From what I understand, they are usually busy and I was lucky that Henry, the designer, was free. When they saw that I wanted a crystal design, they called Henry to come in early especially for me. Everyone was personable and kind while still allowing me to relax and watch reruns of the Xfactor on tv :) I didn't let them dry long enough in the gel curing neon light and it messed them up a bit so Henry fixed it for me free of charge!! Sooo happy my nail shop is back open!! The dip set I had done right before lockdown lasted an entire month. Henry is a true nail artist who can execute any style/design you bring him. Unfortunately I wrote a good review for my first experience, but after dealing with Henry, the nail tech designer today I'm going to have to re-write my review. I called to reschedule my appointment due to transportation issues and weather conditions and Henry called my phone and told me that I was causing him to lose out on money. I have been to this salon three times and have spent over $1000 on my manicure and pedicure's. I also tip very well to each nail tech. My last visit I came to get my full set redone, Henry overbooked and told me he was not going to be able to do my nails that day so I rescheduled for today. And he called me and proceeded to tell me that I'm causing him to lose money yet he squeezes in Walk-ins in between his scheduled appointments and reschedules them. I highly doubt he's losing money and is just money hungry. read more

This is the worst salon I have ever been to and Henry is verbally abusive. I came in on 1/25, and two days later 3 of my nails were already gone. I tried to call the next day, (1/28) but no answer. I called again the next day several times and no answer but I was out of town and wasn't able to physically go in. So I waited until today, January 30th and called again and spoke to Henry. I told him that 3 of my nails already came off 2 days after getting them done. He was screaming at me and cussing at me and not letting me speak. I told him I'll be back in town in 2 hours and I'm coming in and I hung up because he would NOT let me talk. I go in (I recorded the entire situation), Henry is YELLING at me telling me that I am lying and that I went home and picked my nails off myself and that it's not possible that they came off and I did it myself. He was gaslighting me and so rude to the point I was shaking. Extremely disrespectful. He made me leave his salon because he said he won't fix my nails for cussing at him when HE was cussing and screaming at me! Do not go here! Again I have this ALL on video. I've never been treated like that in my life. Terrible customer service and over all a terrible person and I have no idea how this place has any business. read more

First of all, they asked if I could wait 20 minutes for this guy Henry who is the "nail artist" so I agreed to wait. AMAZING! I HAD THE BEST EXPERIENCE AT THIS SALON TODAY! Not only was every one of the staff super nice and welcoming, but the services were awesome! My mom and I are visiting L.A. from Chicago and wanted to treat ourselves fo a mani/pedi. My mom did a gel manicure (known as a no-chip in Chicago) and I did a Luxury Pedicure and a gel manicure with nail art! The whole experience was FANTASTIC! My luxury pedicure was spectacular! Seriously! Parafin treatment, leg massage, cooling mud mask, the best callous removal I have ever had, and the rest of the pedicure were just awesome! I have never felt my feet this soft! They have every color of polish you could dream of! And every variation and trend out there! Glitter, marble, galaxy... they do it all! The decor of the shop is very stylish and well done. My mom's manicure was done beautifully! She chose a dipping powder color which didn't work for what she wanted but her nail technician took the time to help her match the color and get as close to what she chose! It looks perfect! Very helpful and accommodating! Now to Henry's gorgeous nail art work!!!! Henry does actual works of art at this salon! He told me to go on their Instagram and show him what I liked.... I did and from their he created unique, specially designed nails just for me! He hand-painted my nails free hand! Added stones! Glitter! The designs were intricate and TRUE ART! Henry is a master of his craft! Even suggesting that since Katie (his wife and a lovely nail tech herself) did a coffin-shape on my nails, that I should have him reinforce my nails with dipping powder... BEST IDEA EVER. He KNOWS nails and makes excellent suggestions, uses his creativity and vision, and cares about the QUALITY of his work and health of your nails! I swear I'd consider moving to L.A. just to be close to this salon after this experience! The strip mall it is in is unassuming and you would never think that this salon delivers expert quality, professionalism, and incredible services! I only came here because multiple friends told me that they've been here before and try it out and just to see how it goes. within seconds I already knew I was in for some shady stuff. I showed him a picture and he told me it's going to be at least 175 and I was confused because it was a very basic nail set. you will see the Picture of what I wanted and what I got. he kept going on and on about how he works really hard on his nails and basically just trying to overcompensate for a shitty job with his words. what constantly trash talk other shops and see where I've been. he told me my set was going to take a really long time and that's why it's expensive and while he was doing the work I have never experienced such a lazy job in my life. I asked if him if he could do multiple layers of the gel so that way we could actually see the pink and that way the black wouldn't be see-through but unfortunately he thought that I was questioning his ability so he said that it would be better to do it the way he wanted to. around 630 a girl came for an appointment and I guess it was a regular so they treated her super well however he kept mentioning to me that she's getting $400 nails and just kept bringing that up and literally rushed my service because somebody was paying more money for something which in my head I thought this woman was stupid because I will never return here paying even $100 halfway through my service I was holding back tears because of how much she told me everything cost apparently my set was 165 and my toes were 40 and altogether it was $200 for the most mediocre job I've ever seen in my life. all he did was gel my nails on and then put literally one layer of paint on and then one jewel that he recommended and when I wanted to choose one that I like he always had something to say about it. there is no way this .5 second job is 165.. dont waste ur money. he kept saying "black is so boring do u wanna add more ?" he kept changing the price at this point and i was so confused. I went in yesterday after making an appointment for a dip powder manicure. Henry greeted me and immediately made me feel comfortable. Other salons make you feel like you're just another number, but here you can tell they really care about the customer and quality of service. I went with this beautiful dark gray color and Henry suggested doing a black tip. I usually stay pretty basic with my nails but this time I decided to get something different. Let me just start by saying they have one of the best technicians there her name is Katie and she's incredible. After that her You can expect mediocre at best. I have had several incidents where they've cut my nail off the wrong way given me hobbit toes misshapen my nails realized only half way through. The owner is extremely unprofessional and dishonest it must be difficult for his technicians to work in this environment. The color selection is OK but overall the customer service has got to be the worst in Studio City. If they wax off half your eyebrow don't expect a refund or a next cleanup on the house and forget an apology. Expect to be told that your eyebrow was growing in the wrong direction or your toe is crooked. Literally the most absurd excuses you will ever hear, but never any ownership or any type of customer service. There is clearly a delusion between what is taking place and what you're being told is taking place. I can't understand if it's just defiance or actual mental illness at work, either way I won't be going there again. I have to say, this place is all about ppl wanting something very specific. All the rave reviews are mainly about Henry's craftsmanship. Not necessarily his "bedside manner." If you come here, don't expect the four seasons treatment. You will likely have to wait even with an appointment. Come here chill and relaxed, not when you're pressed for time. I get the sense they're doing their best, but they are busy. Henry plays a very specific role. He doesn't do your manicure start to finish. Someone else will do the basics and he will do the design or sculpting if you want the powder option. Similar to a hair salon where someone else washes your hair, then the stylists comes and does the cut after. My first visit here, I observed his interactions with others the entire time I was there for several hours. He seemed to try his best to explain the process to ppl and understand what ppl wanted before he started working. What I noticed is that ppl come in and state what they wanted but then wanted to tell him how to go about executing it. Or came in asking for him specifically because they saw his work on IG but then weren't decided on what they wanted and expected him to just read their minds. He is an artists. If you're not looking for someone to either sculpt your nails with powder, or do a design, don't ask for him. A lady came in and asked for HIM, and then was upset because she wanted a basic manicure. That's not what he does. Don't look for Picasso and then get upset because he doesn't draw stick figures. Tell him what you want, and then give him the space to achieve the look for you. If you've seen his work, and come looking for that, trust that he knows how to do what you've seen him do. It's that simple. If you're looking to have your rump kissed, this isn't it. My experience was friendly and nice because I came in laid back and understand that nail salons are PACKED right now trying to make up for the lost time of a years worth of steady revenue. Manage your expectations and you'll be ok. Also, this place is by no means cheap. They're in studio city. You're not going to get bargain prices here. You're just not. You can definitely find a salon to do the basics for less. But frankly, I'm tired of searching and after not spending money on my own maintenance for a year, I was able to swallow the initial cost and get back in the game. I will say that I would feel far better if the prices were posted or printed for quick reference so you can do quick math and know what to expect. In that area, I did feel pricing is not transparent which is bothersome. Bring cash, because it's become the norm in nail salons to make not having cash a hassle and you will be highly encouraged to find a payment method other than by card. There is a fee to pay by card that varies based on the amount you're spending. There's an ATM in the salon that also charges a fee. They make it very clear they prefer cash or Venmo. I can see why other ppl feel the way they do, but again, I went with the flow and managed my expectations. If you want a consistently white glove experience, I don't think that's the culture here. It's nice enough, but he fully expects you to respect his effort and he won't hesitate to tell you that he works hard to be the best and give you his best. Based on his work, I can understand why he's not shy about that. While I was there, a woman walked in close to closing. She didn't know what she wanted and he tried his best to be patient with her. She finally gave a half hearted vague description of what she wanted and he began the job. She was questioning his method at every turn because she didn't understand the process. He explained it to her repeatedly. He tries his best, from what I can tell. But sometimes seeing is believing when you can't envision what someone is trying to explain and that's where the disconnect happens. In the end, she was THRILLED. She couldn't stop gushing about what a great job he did. She was genuinely blown away and apologized for giving him a hard time.
