He DID NOT disappoint!!! Everyone in the salon was SO sweet and kind and funny and if you're looking for an extensive design, HENRY IS DEFINITELY your guy. Henry does good work but he is rude and greedy. I have known henry for a long time, over 10 years, but over time his success got to his head and he charges enormous amounts and treats his customers like crap, yelling at them in his salon. A month ago I visited the salon and got my nails and pedicure done. I was charged $377 (the picture is attached) I paid and even though it's expensive I paid because I l liked the work he did. And it was already done. He has no price list in the store. I gave the girl who did my pedicure who works for Henry and did a great job a $30 tip as appreciation for her work. Henry as the owner of the store immediately jumped up asking me if the tip is for them (Henry and his wife) to share with her. He told me that its store policy for him and his wife, who own the store to share their workers tip. When i told him that its for her, Henry and his wife would not leave me alone Constantly telling me that i must tip them. They would not let go until i gave them the same amount each!! They kept asking "what about our tip" " can you give us cash" At this point I'm $447!!! For nails!!! And $60 tip to store owners who would not let me relax for a second constantly asking for the same tip i gave their poor worker. Over the last 10 I referred to Henry over 25 ladies, some of which are family. I have always paid henry more than most people pay for nails, a lot more, because I liked his work, I love designs, and he always put in the time and did great work so I didn't mind paying But he kept raising his prices without control. more. $447 is excessive by all means but I paid it. Henry asked me to always mention what I want when I call to book appointments so he can book the time correctly. Today I called nicely to book an appointment for Saturday. I told his wife that i would like to get a fill and pedicure. When asked what I wanted, I told get this time no design just basic french like my sister usually gets because i have to go to a wedding. His wife's reply was "we cant charge you like your sister, your sister gets a discount". I said I never mentioned ir asked about the price I just said that I wanted basic french this time. She said that its better if Henry calls me. Henry called me this evening and i told him what I wanted. His reply was " I don't do basic nails" "how i can make money?" "Your sister gets a discount" (charging her 50% less) but that was not even the issue. He then went on to say "no matter what you do, its $225 minimum" "I need to make $225 per hour minimum no matter what i do" He the described how he gets people to pay him deposits just to get an appointment. This is how he can charge people if they are late and keep the money if they do not show up. He would not let me even speak, when I tried to explain that i never discussed money. That i just wanted plain nails this time I Everything is on record. I explained to him that for once i need plain nails. He was going crazy. Screaming and yelling. Claiming that i need to support him because I am rich. At least in his book i am. Wish he was right He went on Lying and telling me that my cousin pays him $300 just for her nails. Lie!!! Does he not think of better ways to lie??? She told me that she pays him max for both hands and feet $200 A picture of her design that he charged her so much less than my plain nails is also attached. My plain nails $377 with pedicure, the montley crew nails $200 with pedicure. I was still trying to nice by saying just this time for the wedding i need to do it like my sister. Plain. What he said next is discriminatory!! He said to me "you are rich why cant you just pay $400-$450 for nails". It's disgusting!!!! That's also illegal On top of it he said that he will work on no one if he can't make min $225 per hour. He was screaming and yelling just like all the bottom reviews claim that he does. He is greedy. He's disgustingly rude and money hungry. He is not loyal!!!! He appreciates nothing. And he doesn't value his customers and goodwill Today, Henry told me "if you cant pay $400 this is not the place for you. Go somewhere else" and disconnected the call. Guess what?, I have already found someone else and will find more. I will make sure that everyone that I referred to him will go there too. Henry needs to get down from the tree he climbed on. $225 per hour???? Not working for less than that. He said "i don't care if its 30 minutes or 45 minutes, I make minimum $225" I posted what other design studios do for 1/3 the price in the pictures below, and the owner of these salons does not nag you for an hour that you have to tip him and his wife IN CASH. CASH ONLY IS HIS DEMAND. Im disgusted. I will not support a narcissistic GREEDY bully!!! YOU DID NOT JUST LOSE MY BUSINESS. YOU LOST MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS. BEWARE HORRIBLE service!! Henry the owner is very Disrespectful! He does not care to have good customer service but instead will cuss you out. That is no way to treat another human, let alone your own customers! Instead of simply fixing an error Henry got angry, didn't acknowledge a mistake, and didn't fix anything. I absolutely love Designer Nail Studio! The staff is always very professional and since they've reopened they have been on top of sanitizing between customers and they have plexy glass shields at each working station. First and last visit--didn't even have my nails done because the manager was so abusive from the get. Absolutely wouldn't recommend going here for any reason. That being said the women working there could not have been kinder, warmer, or more protective. Henry is clearly a rage-a-holic who was so angry when I requested to sit in a chair that wasn't partitioned off that his sweet female employees had to hold him back while he charged and shouted at me. He has no business running a business, when from what I can see in investigating yelp reviews, he is historically verbally and emotionally abusive to women. I have never been treated with such erratic uncharted anger by anyone running any business anywhere in the world. I had to threaten to call the police if he continued to charge toward me and shout while I tried to leave. It was pure harassment. Came in here on my birthday TODAY because 3 nails broke without really doing much honestly. Came in a few days ago to get them done. I have a 5 month old at home and scratched him accidentally, really need the repair ASAP to avoid injuring him. They said they are too busy to repair a nail. I was fine with just the dangerous one being repaired. Honestly I came in w a beanie and sunglasses and they didn't recognize me from a few days ago when I tipped 40% in cash. They thought a free nail fix let's make money instead. I would have tipped more than every customer in that shop combined for fixing it last minute. Stopped at the atm to pull out $60 on the way in actually. Mind you...4 employees and 2 customers. Here is a photo for proof... This place is all about money and NOT customer service. I am appalled. Sigh. Really wanted to like this place: well-sorted nail salon that looks quite stylish and clean upon first entering. However, the older gentleman who did my nails just...didn't seem to care about being careful and/or gentle with my nails. I'm sure there are other manicurists here who do a great job making sure the polish application is performed slowly and carefully, or who take their time making sure your nails are uniformly filed. This gentleman did neither. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Photos attached where you can see I'm literally still sitting here waiting for my nails to dry. He didn't apply the polish in a way that made sure it isn't chunky along my cuticles, and wasn't careful with applying the polish so that the sides of my fingers aren't smeared in color. I've been to Designer Nail Studio several times now and I always leave so happy with my nails. This team does a fantastic job at shaping nails and are very knowledgeable when it comes to keeping nails strong. They have also fixed cracks in my natural nails with ease. Compared to almost all salons in the area that I've tried, they have never cut me or hurt me during my manicure and pedicures (that's a big no-no for me). They offer great hand and foot massages as a part of their mani & pedi packages and they will match a reference photo perfectly. Katie and V are my go-to for day-to-day gel nails. Henry is a master at nail art and design. He is an artist when it comes to nail art and although it can be pricey it is definitely worth it for special occasions or incredible designs. He goes all out and can turn your hands into works of art. Check out their IG! I firmly believe you get what you pay for and he is one of the best! The French Mani was done by Henry and they are perfectly sculpted with glitter inside on my natural nail and each nail is perfectly shaped & identical. He even stayed late to fit me in for these special occasion nails. The photos don't do it justice. The colorful french, the white and pink nails are done by Katie. The photo of the pink nails is over 4 weeks of growth with no chips, breaks or discoloration. All on my natural nails, no extensions or acrylics. The whole team is very nice and I highly recommend them for all your nail needs! I booked a pedicure through class pass... I didn't want to cancel my reservation I just wanted to change it as a family emergency came up. They were so rude and told me they were unable to cancel on their end which I know is a lie because I've had businesses do it for me when I needed to reschedule. Easily one of the worst manicures I've ever gotten. The lady was nice but she clearly mainly did pedicures. All the nail technicians seemed to be busy so she ended up doing my manicure. Nails chipped the next day, cuticles looked a mess by day two. I actually really liked the work they did the girls are good and I like the products they use. That being said, if you go to Henry the owner, you will have to listen to him drone on and on about what an amazing nail artist he thinks he is while he tries to upsell you on absolutely everything! He didn't like that I didn't want him and a new set for $100 because HE was getting creative and used a colored powder(It looked like Hello Kitty pooped on my nails and it's not what I asked for, but he charged so much I kept them, they had chipped and one broke because he was a walking away so many times to try to sell other people he did a mediocre job. When I texted him about not liking them later on insta, he had 'seen' it but didn't respond) So he yelled at me in front of customers and then blocked me on instagram... I know children more mature. He tried to charge one lady that walked in $75 for a polish change ONLY and called her ugly to me when she walked out on him. Another lady wanted a basic manicure and he tried to charge her $95 for that, which was another (higher)price than her friend paid that I ended up being seated next to, she declined and went for the pedicure only done by another technician. I went back to the technician girl Kelly there trying to avoid him and that's when he yelled at me in front of customers and went and locked himself in the back room and obviously played on his phone :p Spoiler alert: Kelly was able to do a fill without putting on a new set on!! I had high hopes for this place due to the high rating. Unfortunately I was beyond disappointed. They told me to be sure I wasn't late due to their tight scheduling. I arrived EARLY only to have them let me know I needed to wait 30 minutes. I reminded them that I booked mani and pedi same time. They said yes no problem. Then as they started my nails 30 minutes late, they said they could not do my pedicure AT ALL due to a mistake in their scheduling. I was obviously upset but needed to stay for the manicure due to an event that evening. They charged WAY more than I have ever paid for a manicure. One day later 2 of my nails chipped!
