This is not great! Chicken was cold and you can judge the rest by pictures. The images in their menu look so different than the actual item. I would not go back! It was my first time trying Indian food, not impressed!

Stumbled upon it by accident few days ago and am glad I did! As reviewed by other yelpers its really good when it comes to comfort or street desi food. Their rolls are divine! I think even better then Kathi roll LES. They have really good combo deals of rolls/fries/drink. Food is great for price. Loved their pani puri too. Can't wait to try their Maggi samosas and gulab jaman cheesecake next!! Must try!

Chicken tikka Kathi roll with masala fries for lunch. with the roll with the fries.

I ordered the chicken tikka Kathi roll combo. The Kathi roll was yummy but the masala fries were a waste of calories. I really didn't notice any special flavoring and they were pretty much just bad diner fries. I wish the Kathi roll were a little more substantial so it would be more filling. Another ounce or two of filling might help. The downstairs dining area was cute but kinda stuffy and undeniably a basement. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Did I "like Desi Galli?" Hell yes I did! I'm not happy with a masala chai spilled all over the bag but I'll still be back, the tikka masala was delicious, the pani puri, everything rocked Just not the masala chai

Desipoutine

I was pleasantly surprised by the desi poutine. It was extremely filling and you can easily get two helpings out of it. Fries were hot and crisp, paneer was shredded on top, and the "gravy" was a chicken makhani (which is one of my favorite curries). On a cold day, it'll warm you right up. The gulab jamun is something I wouldn't recommend ordering because it was unfortunately not good to put it gently. If you're new to trying it, it's not the most favorable introduction. But it's free with your first Yelp check in, so try it out but don't let it be the only gulab jamun you ever try. The seating area is downstairs and there's water available with plastic cups (which was so appreciated as I'm someone who forgets to bring their water bottle).

Vegan Pani Puri

So a friend and I were planning to go to Sarvanna Bhavan for dinner, but saw this little shop next door(on one street before) and we decided to do a mini-stop for chaat! We ordered three things: 1. Pav Bhaji - it was amazing! The bhaji was fresh and flavorful. The pav were well done and the onion-lemon portion was good. We ordered extra pav later, to finish up the bhaji! 2. Gol gappe - they were good. The paani(water) to fill up the puff balls was slightly less, but it was very tangy & spicy! We liked it a lottt! 3. Paneer-aloo kathi roll - as vegetarians, this felt like a good option. I would say, the kathi roll was ok. Not that great. I felt that the filling inside was good, but the roll was a little uncooked. It slightly felt like pre-made and heated again. Decor - classic chaat house decor, minimalist . Do not expect anything fancy, and the place was super clean and hygienic. Price - for NYC, the price is good. You can order everything online through the bar code, and everything is smooth and convenient. Overall- 4/5 for this place. I would definitely go back for the gol gappas/pani-puris and the pav bhaji!

Chicken Korma Kathi Roll Combo! Kathi Rolls: Paratha Wrap Drink: Masala Chai Sides: Masala Fries

The food was very tasty at a low price and the service was very nice and neat. Hope I will go there again and again!

Go to spot for kathi rolls in the neighborhood. It's flavorful, rolled-to-order, and always hits the spot when craving street food. This is a take away spot. No sit down. They deliver fast and food is always hot. Ask for it spicy, if you can handle it. Ask for extra spicy green sauce (spicy mint chutney) on the side if you're adventurous like me. Note: you can order a pint of just this Green Chutney sauce (which I have done) We have been here many many times. I can't believe it has taken me this long to write a review! Between all our visits, we have tried 80-85% of the menu. The things we keep going back to: Chicken Tikka Kathi Roll (GF) Aloo Paneer Kathi Roll Vegan Channa Kathi Roll (V / GF) Aloo Channa Kathi Roll (V / GF) Paneer Bhurjee Kathi Roll Lamb Biryani Saag Paneer Curry Chicken Tikka Masala Saag Curry Dal Makhani Yellow Dal Curry Fries Desi Poutine PINT of spicy mint cilantro chutney

Desipoutine

Hands down the best desi food in curry hill! The restaurant features authentic dishes with a modern taste and has classics like authentic khati rolls and unique dishes like the famous desipoutine.

Amazing paanipoori
Neeru G.

We stopped by desi galli , a small place in Indian street in New York. We only ordered 1 paani poori. Paani poori was AMAZING- filled with mint chutney and with tamarind chutney! The paani was perfect.- a must try! But service was very slow. It was super hot so we did not go down stairs to sit( yeah we sat on a small bench next to the counter) Tip 1: If you buy anything you $10, you get 1 gulag jamun free Tip 2: They give 10% student discount

I found these pieces of plastic in my Chicken Tikka Kathi Roll.

However, we never really got to it, having been busy exploring the Semmas and Bungalows of the city. On a cold Saturday evening my partner and I decided to give Indian Accent a shot - got rather last minute reservations over the phone. They were kind enough to accommodate us for a 7 pm slot, and once we got there we were seated immediately. We chose the four course menu, and found each course to be better than the one before! The shorba (soup) and garlic kulcha amuse bouche was a nice touch to get things started - loved the tiny terracotta mugs. Proceeded onto the shakarkandi chaat and the chilly pork roti - the former reminding me of the delectable street food in Delhi winters with the latter being a very good Indian rif on birria tacos. The star of the show for me was the Tofu medu vada - so unique and flavorful and melt in the mouth! I've not had anything quite like it before. My partner had the wagyu kebab that he said was excellent! For mains we had the chicken malai and the paneer - both tasty, but by this point we were already so full, and had to get most of the mains to go. But because there's always room for dessert, for our final course we scarfed down doda barfi with ice-cream and sticky toffee banana pudding - both of which were finger licking delish! Our service was great too - Ty our server was so nice and had the best recommendations. I'd have never gone for the tofu medu vada among all the other options and he urged me to, and it really turned out to be the highlight of my meal. The cocktails were good too. All in all, I think this is such a nice upscale Indian dining spot for a night out in the city. Having tried most of the other trending newer spots, i think Indian Accent sits right among the top! I'd highly recommend and cannot wait to be back!

TLDR: Creative, modern Indian fusion dining with standout service and a fun prix fixe experience -…read moremixed dish hits, but worth it (get the butter chicken kulcha!!) I believe there are other Indian Accent locations in India, and was excited to try their NYC spot. We went on a weekend evening around 5pm and had a really enjoyable experience overall. Nice ambiance inside, didn't feel overly packed where we were sitting. Service was great for the most part. Shane, our main server, stood out and he was SUPER helpful in walking us through the menu and making thoughtful suggestions. That said, it's definitely a team-service setup, so multiple staff members will assist your table throughout the meal. Everyone had great energy and made the experience feel polished. We did the prix fixe menu and went with 3 courses each across our group of 3. Two of us opted for the "midis" and one went for dessert, but we ended up sharing everything. Even though the portions initially seem small, we were surprisingly full by the end. One important note: go into this with an open mindset. This is not your typical, "generic" Indian food experience - it's much more modern, creative, and experimental. We did a lot of research before deciding what to order, so here's what we got/ordered: Amuse bouche (complimentary): A pumpkin shorba (soup) served in a cute little cup and blue cheese naan. Both were a great start, and we actually asked for more of the shorba. They said they'd bring it, but it never came, which was a bit disappointing, but still appreciated the palate cleanser concept. Appetizers (ordered 3): * Phulka jackfruit: Kind of like a taco - really nice flavor with these crispies on it and a nice sauce. * Kashmiri morel mushrooms: I'm not usually a mushroom person, but this was excellent. Loved the creamy base and overall flavor. * Potato sphere chaat: Probably the weakest of the three. It was more sev than potato, and didn't quite hit for me. Midis (ordered 2): * Yogurt kebab: Very interesting texture with a nice chutney base * Sweet pickle pork: I didn't personally try it, but the other two in my group loved it Mains (ordered 3): * Sweet corn vadai: Really unique and flavorful - one of the standouts * Paneer kofta: Not my favorite; different from what I expected * Chicken tikka meatballs: Surprisingly good! I don't usually love meatballs, but these had a great texture and flavor Accompaniments (ordered 3): * Butter chicken kulcha: Easily my favorite - would come back just for this, but note it can be a little "greasy" * Daal with black garlic naan: The naan was unique with a slightly sweet taste; the daal could've used a bit more depth * Chana masala kulcha: A little spicy but still very flavorful Dessert (ordered 1 + 1 complimentary): * Banana sticky date cake: A lovely, satisfying end to the meal * Makhan malai (complimentary for a birthday in our group): Very airy and unique texture - not really for us personally, but appreciate the team supporting our birthday celebration We skipped drinks even though the menu is extensive - we wanted to focus on the food Overall, I really liked this place. The dishes were a mix - nothing was outright bad (except maybe the makhan malai for our taste), but not everything was a hit either. Still, it's a fun, elevated dining experience with creative takes on Indian cuisine. I'd definitely go back, especially for the butter chicken kulcha. Only real miss was the forgotten re-order of the amuse bouche, but otherwise service and vibes were strong.

The place was exactly what we were looking for... Inexpensive, elegant, and comfortable atmosphere! The place wasn't busy. Amazing service and delicious food! The food was fresh and came out fast. Portions are generous, so you definitely won't leave hungry. I had the Lentil Soup as the first course and Aloo Gobi Matar as Entrée. Both were tasty, also gluten free, dairy free and soy free. Their menu offers a variety of choices, including options that are gluten free, dairy free, and soy free. A little corner of London magic right here in Hell's Kitchen!…read more If you've ever stood on a rainy London street, desperate for a bowl of proper Northern Indian food, you can stop romanticizing -- Jaz Indian Cuisine on Hell's Kitchen has that exact magic, and it's right here in Manhattan. The star of the show is Jaz herself -- the owner, hostess, and bartender all rolled into one wonderfully warm, charming British woman who somehow makes you feel like you've been a regular for years within thirty seconds of walking through the door. She's the kind of host who remembers how you like your chai and makes the whole room feel like her living room. Now, the food. The Chana Masala is deeply spiced, rich with tomato and chickpeas, the kind of dish that makes you question every mediocre version you've had before. The Saag is silky, fragrant, and genuinely soulful -- spinach that actually tastes like something. And the Onion Kulcha? Pillowy, caramelized, absolutely yummy -- the kind of bread you'll be tearing into long after you're full. The flavors here are the real thing -- bold, layered, and unapologetically authentic. This isn't watered-down, please-everyone Indian food. This is the genuine article, executed with care and a distinctly British-Indian sensibility that you rarely find outside of London. Every dish tastes like someone's nana's recipe, if that nana happened to be a brilliant chef. Do yourself a favor: add some spice to your life and get yourself to Jaz Indian Cuisine.
