I work 7:00am-3:30pm and the latest appointment they do is 3:15pm. They are open Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:30pm and Fridays 8:00-1:00pm. They do not work Saturdays. 2. I work remotely, a desk job, and my vision would start off fine in the beginning of my day, but a few hours into my day; my vision would get blurry for a few hours, then go back to being fine in the afternoon. The doctor kept testing my vision in the exam room; as in seeing if there was something wrong with my lenses. It turned out my eyes were dry. How can a doctor not know when a patients eye is dry? That is alarming to me. Luckily, he has been patient throughout the process; but is frustrating to see an optometrist who cannot detect dry eyes. 3. If you have an appointment at 12:00, plan to n being there until 1:30pm. The doctor does not see you until 12:45/1:00pm.

But, I truly needed a functional backup pair and started hunting around. I knew I'd be paying more for this pair since I've graduated now to progressive lenses. I didn't want to go back to Walmart or Costco or Target, because those glasses still cost a pretty penny and have never been a great fit. The last pair I got from Walmart a couple of years ago, no change in prescription, makes me woozy. Eyemagination had such great reviews here, I decided to check it out. And the instant I walked through the door, I was filled with confidence that this was the place. I was welcomed by Maureen and Stephen right away. After introductions and a nice chat, Eyemagination started to feel like an old-fashioned salon or barbershop, where you've been coming for years and it feels like family. I didn't realize what goes into a proper glasses fitting because, I guess I've never had one! You get your face measured. You get your dominant eye checked, spacing, all angles and nose bridge noted. They have gadgets. It's the closest thing you'll find to choosing the right wand from Ollivanders. I'm pretty sure my glasses chose me. The technicians are part artist, part clinician, part engineer and part designer. I was helped by Maureen, the lovely, twinkly-eyed, warm shop owner. Stephen also joined in, and was sharp, attentive, caring and impressive. The two make an excellent team and they found me a frame I would actually enjoy wearing. When I returned a week or so later to pick up the glasses and get a final fitting, both Maureen and another lovely lady whose name I am forgetting helped adjust things perfectly. Maureen really wants the glasses to fit and feel comfortable and watches you like a hawk to make sure you are truly happy with your selection. My prescription was challenging but she nailed it. My mom's sunglasses look fantastic and I'm sure her regular glasses will too when they're ready. The frame selection was super, even for the lower-priced options. Skip the zoo at Costco, Walmart or Target and swing over to this local business that has been knocking it out of the park for several decades. They are so warm and welcoming, you'll walk away wishing you needed a pair every year just to visit for the company and lovely conversation. Thank you fellow Yelpers! #ShopLocal There's plenty of room for power chairs / wheelchairs.

I've come across doctors who were very short with me, inaccurate with their diagnosis, and just excessively rude. On one occasion my daughter had taken me to a retina specialist (Dr. Matthew Ziemianski). Now, I am not one to say negative things about others but this doctor had the worst bedside manner of any doctor I have ever met. After a THREE HOUR wait (In an almost empty lobby) and only a 5 minute evaluation, I had left furious, and my daughter had to hold back her tears. I suffer from macular degeneration and my daughter had asked Dr. Ziemianski if he thought surgery would be an option to improve my vision, and he had basically responded with, "You have to deal with the fact that she's too old, nothing will help her at this point, but she'll probably die before she goes completely blind." After that horrible experience I almost wanted to never to visit another eye doctor again. However, a family friend insisted that we see Dr. VanBuren of Phoenix Ophthalmologists. So I agreed. To begin with, the wait time was (at most) 10 minutes. The tech, Jennifer, who did my exam prior to the doctor seeing me was beyond wonderful! Our friend had told their office about the horrible experience I had with Ziemanski and it was as if she was going above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. She was very sweet and very effective and answered any questions (politely and patiently) that I asked. When Dr. VanBuren came in to see me he, too, was very kind when suggesting what options I might be able to take. (He even apologized about Ziemianski's harsh remarks). Over all, in all my years of eye doctors visits, Phoenix Ophthalmologists has the absolute best staff of technicians and doctors. Very friendly, kind and clearly there to help make your day (and life) better. Thank you for the wonderful experience! I will definitely be back for any and all vision related needs!
