I can't even review the Dr., because I couldn't even make it through his garbage staff. Summer had the nastiest phone manner I might have ever dealt with, and they messed up my appointment and called me on a day I wasn't scheduled and tried to have me come in. Please fire those people and start over. I tried to outright just purchase the glasses, and they literally wouldn't let me. So when they messed up on my scheduled appointment I knew I shouldn't have anything to do with them. Sorry Doc, your employees suck real bad, and that Summer girl needs a new job. Update: I called and spoke with the Dr. about this issue, and he was a perfect gentleman, so I'm going to increase the one star rating to a 3-star. read more

This was my first and last time here. In my opinion, the staff was scatterbrained and it took multiple attempts to complete each test before seeing the optometrist. They had to take the retina picture 5 times in one eye and 3 times in the other, talk about seeing spots! When it came to the "press the button when you see the squiggly line", I had to do it multiple times as the gal kept spacing out on what she was doing. The simple "puff" test was even a chore for them to complete... I had over 4 people in a tiny room trying to do the job of one person and they were succeeding miserably. At this point, I should of left. Dr. Gregory Meek seemed nice enough. He kept saying it was amazing that I could read the last line on the eye chart. Exam done, time to find frames and order. Now the gal can't measure to order the glasses! She annoyed me so much that I just wanted to pay for the exam and leave. The only person on staff that seemed to know her stuff helped me and measured the glasses and ordered the lenses. Time to pick up the glasses and they were the cheapest quality lenses that you could order for $29.95 at zennioptical.com with a $20 frame, not pay $190! They were fuzzy and really poor quality. My new eye exam script is off, it was made for me to see the computer and reading only! I now have no distance vision and have to start over with another exam to get this corrected! I have been wearing glasses for 36 years and this was by far the worst experience that I have ever had and recommend you pay a little more for better service and quality. read more

I have gone to see Dr. Meek on and off for several years now. He is an EXCELLENT optometrist. I have never had an issue/complaint in going to see him. If the review was just about him... I'd give 5 stars! The front staff is another story. The girl who is currently running the front is really lacking in customer service skills. When I asked for a copy of my prescription, her demeanor changed and she gave me attitude. I have never been so unhappy leaving the eye Dr. before. Calling on the phone is the same. She was sweet as pie answering the phone, but when she realized who I was, she wasn't sweet anymore and was even rude. Almost hanging up on me when SHE was done with the conversation. I had to tell her to hang on a minute before she hung up on me, I had another question. RUDE!!! read more

I moved to north Phx from Chandler, so time for new Docs closer to me, that take my insurance of course. Found this place on VSP website. Love it, Dr meek was very through and they didnt have the air puff test YEAH. There are alot of fun frames and sunglasses. Cant wait to get them! I took my kiddos to pick out their glasses. Both ladies that were working were so sweet and helpful. My son found a pair that he liked, but didn't like the color. They were able to go online and find a color that he wanted. We LOVE Dr. Meek and have been going to him for almost 7 years. But his staff always leaves much to be desired. They have gotten better over the years, but could use some customer service training. Even just coming to pick up my contacts I feel like I'm bothering them. Not a "hi how are you today?" Or "have a great day" those are easy/basic things to say even if you're faking it. Unfortunately my time here was horrible. I have to say the doctor is nice but through my experience I wouldn't want anyone to come here. I was having trouble seeing out of my left eye and after visiting him once a week for 4 weeks he did not help me a bit. I asked him to send me a referral to an opthomologist time after time and he kept saying not yet. I was crying in his office chair because of the headaches and sensitivity to light. I took matters into my own hands and went and saw one myself. I needed files sent over to the opthomologist and talked to Dr.Meeks himself about sending them the day before I went. When I got there the next day he hadn't sent my file. I called and they told me they were sending them at that moment but an hour and a half later the opthomologist told me they still hadn't received them. So I called again and they told me they would send them in 30. I was not having it. I was better in 5 days, could see clear as day because of the opthomologist I went to. Also the receptionists and assistants at Dr.Meeks office are repulsive. I've heard them talk about clients who arent there "those glasses were cute but on her, she couldn't pull them off" "she was nice but her mom was a b****". I had gotten so much attitude from them. My husband and I are not returning and my family friends who were going to go there in the new year will not be using their business either. I will be calling my insurance as well to let them know of their lack of service as a provider. Stay away!!! read more

I chose to go with Desert View Vision East, with Dr Gregory Meek upon suggestion from Nextdoor reply. Not only is he established in his practice, but he actually loves working with his patients. He is unusual in today's world, in that he actually LISTENS to his patients. I had been to a previous optometrist who did not meet this expectation. I told Dr Meek that with the new prescription (from aforementioned optometrist) that I saw 4 street lights rather than the 2 that were actually there. He kept working on my exam until he got the script correct. He is knowledgeable, and caring in his practice. He has a tremendously supportive office staff. He is at 350 E Bell Rd, Ste J-209, upstairs, 602-993-1199. ( Use the south elevator close to fitness center, as the east stairwell is kind of built for billy goats :) Dr Meek is now our optometrist of choice. read more

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Meek for over two years now and HIGHLY recommend him. Dr Meek is very knowledgeable, patient, and an overall excellent doctor! We have been to multiple offices prior to being referred over to Dr. Meek. We always felt like we were being pressured into seeing additional specialists or upsold on the eyewear that we needed. Everyone in the office was welcoming and we definitely did not receive that same sort of pressure here as we had from other offices. We have also had terrible issues with other offices placing our call on hold for up to 20 minutes at a time and with Desert View Vision, I have NEVER had that experience. The office staff is always quick and courteous over the phone and able to get our appointments scheduled promptly. Dr. Meek was even able to refer us to a pediatric ophthalmologist for my one year old at the time who has vision issues. I love Dr. Meek. Been going to this office for years. Always have problems with the staff. My glasses were given to someone else in error and I had to make 2 trips before that error was fixed. Last visit I ordered new glasses. 4 weeks of calling and being told Don't call us, we will call you. Never did get my glasses and the staff could not have cared less. No customer service at all. I have to wonder if Dr Meek knows how his patients are treated after their exam? read more

This was my first time getting glasses at this place and my last time for sure. The doctor was very nice and professional but his staff is the anchor that will sink that ship. I went in did the full exam with the upgraded digital eye test etc. come to find out I need reading glasses to which I knew already. They recommended transitional lenses with no bifocal lines, I liked that idea. A little over a week later I go to pick up my glasses and when I put them on I thought I was drunk. My vision with the glasses on was like I put 2 magnifying glasses up to my eyes. They told me "you have to get used to them". ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Correct me if I'm wrong but the reason to get glasses is to better your vision, not make it worse. Then the lady said "we will send them back, you get one free correction". WTF! I told her "I didn't mess this up, why should this count as my free fix?" This place has no right to be in business treating customers like this. I would recommend the doctor getting a educated and friendly staff if he wants to retain customers.....oh and take responsibility for your own mistakes, I do in my business. read more
