The motor stopped working in less a week, so I took it back in to the store and was talked to like a child by Paul, because I did the work myself and had questions. Paul specifically was always helpful in the past, but lately however he seems to hate his job and is passive aggressive/rude to customers. Randy is no better as he seems to be running on a short fuse and annoyed by questions we as customers have. Overall this location has changed to the point that as of today this was my last day as a customer. I just asked for a refund and will find another location to find another motor. I think businesses forget customers have other choices and do not have to be treated with disrespect like this.

I called at 4:30 pm local time on Monday and got this recording so I thought maybe it was North Carolina time so I called at 6:00 am MST and got the same recording. I hope that you read this review and save yourself some time. I went through no fewer than 10 companies to get an estimate. The industry seems quite unreliable. I got Steve's number from my realtor who said that he was probably going to use Steve. My realtor had all kinds of great contacts when I remodeled my house before I moved in 10 years ago. I met with Steve first. I then reached out to the other companies after meeting with Steve to be exhaustive and because it got kind of silly with how difficult these companies were to even reach. I actually met with about 6 of the 10 because some of them never even returned my call (several with favorable reviews on Yelp). The companies who did show up, gave estimates all over the board and several didn't follow up with me after I expressed sincere interest in hiring them. It was weird. Recommendations from neighbors, co-workers, Yelp. They were all flakes. I was impressed at how much control Steve directly exercised over this project (Steve is the owner). I told my realtor to save the time, just use Steve, and recommend him to all his clients. You should hire him too.

They had me send photos of the original installation (which, fortunately, I had) before the tech showed up. The tech was very friendly, didn't mind me watching, and explained what he was finding as he went. Turns out that the auto-fill float was defective. That particular model deteriorated over time, which is why they don't use that anymore. He installed new floats (our feature has three separate basins, all of which were overflowing), made sure they were working, and it's all good now. He also showed me the piece that deteriorated. A bit expensive, but competence costs. They are licensed, bonded, and insured. I don't claim to be an expert about ponds, but the tech knew what he was doing, and we no longer seem to have a problem. He also wrote-up an observations sheet, indicating what he saw, and possible future recommendations (e.g. it is likely we'll have to replace one of the pumps, but he said "use it until it dies, then replace it", and vacuum out the muck more frequently -which he told me how to do-). I won't say the 1-star experiences on Yelp are bogus. People experienced what they experienced. But my experience with them was very positive.
