Solid donuts up in north phx! They are made fresh which is awesome - I love that they are soft and fresh yet crispy from the fryer. Service was great, booths inside are a nice touch! Would skip the ice cream pie tho. We'll be back for the donuts!

These are very, made to order donuts. They also have other options such as donut and cereal shakes and donut/ice cream pie. Fun spot, great for kids, they have a coloring wall!

Still a pretty good donut, but the special ones aren't worth $5 based on the dmsame size for each donut. The Buckeye with peanut butter and added pecans was hot and messy.

Stumbled upon this place during a day trip and couldn't be happier. The staff took their time explaining the menu, the atmosphere was cheerful and welcoming, and the Hummingbird Harry was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

Creative - The donuts on their menu are already so creative and delicious you don't even NEEEEEED to give customizations a thought - unless you're like my husband and just love putting your own touch on everything you eat & they will accommodate your customizations. 2. Very interesting and fun donut shop. With an eclectic feel and very friendly staff.. they make each cake donut by hand here with unique toppings and flavors. Came in here on a whim and was quite pleasantly surprised. I ordered half a dozen glazed donuts and they were excellent, soft, fluffy and sweet. I certainly look forward to coming back again.

The sweetest staff work here. They were very welcoming and friendly. So many choices with so many glazes, toppings, and drizzles! Go online to decide first or just visit them and staff will help you. I had a powered sugar with raspberry. My friend had a cake donut with sprinkles. There was a slight caramel glaze. I liked that they make it in front of you.

The staff was very friendly and helped to explain the process, as it was our first time there. We got several donuts and a coffee. The donuts are a little smaller than you might expect but being fresh made and still warm elevates them to wonderful status. Great flavors and the coffee was very good as well. Definitely would recommend if you are in the area and want a little something sweet.

If you are heading along the I17 and need a sugar break, or need to bring a unique dessert dish to bring to your holiday parties..... look no further. Other donut shops have an endless train of donuts sitting around all morning on the shelf which get packaged into a box when you want them. Desert Donuts makes your donuts however you want with their 80+ flavors and made from batter to hand decorated within 3 minutes.

I was having an event at work and decided to grab some donuts. There were two people working both were really nice and explained that the donuts were made to order and how the menu worked. I decided to order a dozen plus I got a free one for checking in. It was a little pricey but the price matched the product! They were like little sweet works of art!!! The space was colorful and reminded me of an old school ice cream shop. Every one was hesitant to eat them at first because they were so pretty but after the first one was eaten the rest was history all that was left were a few sprinkles!

Owner is super sweet and down to earth as well as the employee I met while I was there. Not to mention the donuts and coffee are out of this world-- freshest donut I've ever had in my life. Their coffee is locally sourced and delicious and they have such a great sense of community within the store, definitely worth a visit!

Great customer service! Delicious and fresh (literally). Wide variety. A very neat atmosphere. Used books to look at. They are not pre-made so it's a small wait after you order. More then ready-to-box donuts. Cake donuts but so fresh that they melt in your mouth. Highly recommend! read more

Awesome Donuts people!! I ordered mine with Cinnamon Sugar, Maple topping with....wait for it........BACON. They warmed it up slightly and it was heaven. Holy crap what a combo. We drove from the outskirts of Surprise just to have one. Seriously, the only reason we went. 30 mile round trip. I would have done it if gas was $5 a gallon. CRAZY read more

I want to eat here every day! PLEASE! Amazing cake donuts made fresh for you. Even if you think you don't like cake donuts, please try these. They don't have that artificial greasy mouth residue thing happening like Dunkin. We ate 6 donuts between 2 people. I had to try them all! My husband loved the maple bacon (big surprise, ha!) and I really enjoyed the chocolate glazed, s'mores and caramel coconut. You've got to get this place out :) ALSO, only $1.25 for a fresh donut. 5 stars is for the quality of their product. This is not your everyday donut shop they fry the donuts right in front of you hand top them and if you've never had a Bacon Blast donut you're missing out. Understand the price point is higher because these are much more on the gourmet side! New owners have added some great desserts to fit the bill and are there running their business hands on meeting customers and taking care of things the way it should be without skipping a beat on the product they are putting out! We stopped by another spot to get dinner and my boyfriend wanted to get a donut after dinner. This place is awesome. They custom make the donut you order so you're not stuck with whatever's available still like traditional donut shops. It's also still warm when it comes out so you can tell it's fresh. There's a ton of gourmet donuts to choose from or you can custom build your own. They had s'mores, apple pie, raspberry, Boston crème, snickers, and so much more as options! I got the raspberry one and the filling was divine. Way better that what's in usual filled donuts. My boyfriend got the apple pie and he loved it. We got to talking to the owner and he was very friendly. And very passionate about his shop. He talked to us about the precision it takes to make a good donut and clearly is very proud of his shop. And he should be. He was polite, friendly, and very kind. He told us about the most popular donut (it's maple frosted with bits of bacon) and even made one complimentary for us to try. I couldn't (vegetarian) but my boyfriend was very impressed. If we lived close by, I'm sure we'd come here often (and weigh a ton more!). To be honest, I don't even really like donuts. But I liked this donut very much. Great concept. Well executed. Would a absolutely come again. read more

What a great locally-owned mom-and-pop style shop. I love it! I have been here twice now - once with my better half because she wanted to try it, and once to bring a couple dozen in to work. True, they take a little longer to bring a couple duzzo to the office, but just call in your order ahead of time... they had it finishing up and waiting for me within ten minutes! Donuts are airy and flavorful. They may be a tad on the greasy side, but let's face it, folks: you aren't eating donuts to be a health nazi. These may feel a tad greasier because of how fresh and soft they are, but if you wait a few minutes before gorging these tasty morsels into your mouth, you would realize they aren't bad at all. The toppings were great. Almond Joy, Caramel Apple, Maple Bacon, Pink with Sprinkles (a la Homer Simpson,) are just a few of the delicious bites I got from there. The best one however is the Peanut Butter Cup. Great staff, great concept, great owners - try it now!!! read more

Since the ownership change this place is trash. The donuts are more expensive, smaller, and don't taste nearly as good. Additionally, the staff acts as if they are doing you a favor when you order. Do not waste your time or money here. read more

We were road-trippin to Sedona and decided to make a quick pit stop for the essentials (donuts, of course). Wow, the atmosphere was such a pleasant surprise. Chris kindly greeted us, gave us the lowdown about the freshly made donuts with unlimited toppings, and provided a top-notch donut experience. Ive been here multiple times and customer service has always been mediocre. Donuts are warm & fresh with good flavor, but it is a long wait. I also had to remind the cashier that I ordered an affogato, it would of been nice to recieve with my donut. The talking amongst the employees is about personal information, singing off tune and loud, I suggest to play music in the background. It will help with the ambiance & mood. read more

I met the desert donuts folks when they were still building the restaurant and getting supplies at home Depot. They told me their concept, and it sounded interesting. I went, and was very happy with my purchase and experience. I've since brought my two kids. They love it as well. My eldest is rather conservative and orders a maple glazed with rainbow sprinkles. My youngest orders what the staff refers to as the "abomination" it is a donut with approximately 8 to ten different toppings, glazes and icings. They are consistently patient, and they absolutely loves the staff. As for me I stick to my maple bacon with maple hot sauce. Yum!!!! Thanks folks! Keep it up! read more

I haven't been to Desert Donuts in awhile and decided to go today for National Donut Day. While customer service was great, they must have changed their donut recipe because they did not taste like they used to, and were not good. Plus the free donut they advertised today was actually a coupon for a free donut, so that was also disappointing. I'm sad they've changed because they were so good and unfortunate I won't be going back. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. They are so cool! They'll make your donut in front of you, everything is warm, soft and fresh! My kids love this place and are always pestering me or their grandpa to take them to the donut shop. Hello, my name is Michael. I am an Arizona native born in Flagstaff and raised in the Phoenix/Glendale area. I graduated from a local high school and local college here in AZ. I then served 4 years in the US Navy during the Persian Gulf War. I have over 26 years of experience in business ownership and management. I was inspired by my amazing daughter to purchase a donut shop. And as it turns out, I chose the most amazing donut shop or did it choose me? My daughter and I decided to answer the many requests to bring Desert Donuts to other cities and other states. Our goal is to bring a little Arizona sunshine and happy to all the states.

I pass thru the Phx area on business trips from the east coast off and on. Was last out there in the fall, heard some epic things about this place. Not a great experience. The staff were friendly, clean inside but the product the main event sorely lacked. I ordered a plain glaze and a chocolate. I couldn't finish eating either one of them! Take away the glazes and the donuts were too oily on the inside that you could barely taste the dough and it fell apart. It was just oily sugar. All the donuts I saw look bomb but all that polish mean nothing if you don't have a good base. No social media grabbing pics can come to the rescue. The concept is just confusing! Are they a donut or ice cream shop? If they want to compete with Dunkin in the mornings they need to slim down the offerings if any $$$ wants to be made. It--exists. Yum yum yum!!! This fresh made donut niche that's popping up can be hit and miss, in terms of flavors. Desert Donuts is a definite hit!! I have only tried a few of the flavors, but the one that stands out the most are the maple bacon donuts. Oh my goodness. A hot, crispy and soft donut, smothered in maple glaze, then topped with a bunch of bacon. Cmon people. We we born for this stuff! I'm glad my work is almost right across the street.
