in the past I have worked with a number of contractors for pool construction, patio cover, garage air conditioning and window and door installation. During construction an inspector from the company would occasionally inspect the progress and at the end of construction check to see if I was satisfied with the work. Desert decocrete made no effrort to check on the work or even offer to ask if I am satisfied with the mediocre work for the garage floor. Fortunately I will not have them refinish the driveway and pool deck. Definitely look elsewhere for a reputable licensed contractor without Scott Weber attitude. I got a couple of quotes for re-staining the driveway/entry to my home in Rancho Mirage. Desert Decocrete's quote was fair and they could schedule the work during the window of time we had available. We worked with Jesse and Scott to select the window of time, fine tuned the contract to reflect our agreement, paid the deposit, and we were "off to the races"! The crew showed up every day on time and ready work despite the 117 degree weather. They had an amazing attitude all day and we were grateful for the positive energy they brought to this project. Unfortunately, half-way through the project my husband and I had to return to Los Angeles. Jessee was sure we had selected the color samples, and he rolled-out a sample area for final approval. Once we left town, he sent us progress photos each day to be sure we were satisfied with the depth of color. Working with Jesse, his crew, and Scott was an absolute pleasure! Being a "yelper" I had done my research and I had read other reviews that weren't positive. I believe in any transaction, it's important that both parties work together IN ADVANCE of the transaction to be sure there is a clear understanding of the expectations (on both sides). In my case, Scott and I wen't back and forth to clarify the work schedule, the process, the expectations, limitations and such so that there would be no surprises on either end. I am so impressed with Scott, Jesse and Mo. I had a fairly significant project of garage, driveway, front courtyard, back pool deck and brick walkways. They were super helpful in the color selections and even came back after the project was complete to help me move back 2 heavy planters I couldn't move myself. Beware of this Business. Not only is their business status with the State of CA - Suspended (Since 2020), you have to file in Small Claims Court ($10k suit pending against them) to get them to even acknowledge you. I see a previous review on here as well where someone had to do the same. Scott-Weber and Lvonne-Weber are obviously scam artists in this business and take nothing serious. Awful Workmanship. The quality of the work is subpar. I have given up on my patio looking the way that I expected and projected to me by Scott and his team of workers. It took months and it looks like I did it myself!!! Scott NEVER came to my house after numerous emails/phone calls and texts. His workers showed up and do patch work. Number 1 let me state this company doesn't have a contractors license and does not carry workman's comp for their employees so I would recommend you have them all sign release waivers. Next consider that no live person will ever answer the phone when you call the business number. Next, the owner, Scott Weber will only text or email you. You will never speak to him or see him in person but he will collect all electronic payments and confirm by text. His lead guy Raul, once you can finally get him to respond to your texts or calls, is a nice guy, but a poor communicator. They do not have color samples for you to refer to and want you to make choices from photographs. Seeing a real time reference of their work and having a previous client to contact as a referral will not be possible even though when you are signing the contract they say it is possible. Don't be lured by the nice pictures and the friendly informative texts from the owner during the buying process. That will be the best service you receive from them and it will all be downhill from there. Very frustrating. If you ask a question or make any sort of complaint they will not work to resolve it they will just walk out on the middle of the job. Nightmare. read more

At their suggestion, I had these guys apply a product called Ardex to my floors back in 2012. The floors looked great when they were first done, similar to polished concrete, and I was very pleased. But soon after installation, the floor started bubbling up and flaking off in places. This coating doesn't do well when moisture seeps up from under it, and moisture seeping up from below isn't an uncommon thing in houses. After much back and forth, I got the company to come back and redo half the house for "their cost." I had called a few other companies about redoing the floors, but I couldn't find anyone who worked with Ardex, with good reason. As I later learned, Ardex is a product used as a flooring substrate that isn't meant to be used without actual flooring material on top. During the second application, Decocrete used a moisture-barrier product under the Ardex for the portions of the floor that were damaged. I have no idea why they didn't apply this product in the first place. The floor mostly -- but not completely -- held up in the areas that were originally a problem, but other areas of the floor started to bubble up and flake. I sold my house last week, and the condition of the floors was definitely an issue. In addition to the bubbling, exposed Ardex will turn dark in high-traffic areas, and there is no way to remove the darkened pathways. Also, putting certain rugs and other objects on Ardex will leave a stain that can't be removed. As other commenters have noted, these guys aren't necessarily the most responsive after the work has been done. One of their installers was great, but another was absolutely horrible. If you use these guys, I definitely would not let them talk you into using Ardex on your floors. read more

Desert Decocrete just completed "refurbishing" of our Kooldeck. I got four bids and they were the most expensive of the four. But i decided to use them because they could complete the work ASAP which i needed. At the completion, it looks nice and much better than before, filling cracks and broken edges. I will update the review in a few months to see how it wears or if there are any issues with the cracks or any bubbling of the paint. The workers worked hard in the hot summer sun and remained pleasant throughout. Raul is the estimator and foreman. He is a decent guy and seems to work hard. He is not a people person, and i spoke to him that it would be nice if he kindly tried to make the buyer feel more confident in him and the companies work. He really tried hard to make up for our initial difficulties, and i admire him for that greatly. That is a sign of a good guy. The owner of the company lives up in Big Bear and is very difficult to get a hold of and does not answer his phone or return phone calls promptly, if at all. This in itself would keep me from referring this company to others. But right now, i am going to give them four stars with an update later to see about follow up and wear of the Kooldeck. And a suggestion would be to have larger color samples. It is really difficult to choose colors from a 1" x 1" tab. It would be a great customer service addition. Also, be very clear what a crack is to them. Is it a line in the pavement and does a crack include rough edges around the pool or peripheral of the pavement where there is just wear and tear. I had to ask for certain areas to be repaired because they did not think of them as a "crack" or part of the refurbishing. At this point i am happy, but again, i will update in a few months. read more

I had to pick the color and of course, chose one that I was unhappy with. It took a few days longer than expected, but this company came through for us (thanks for all of your patience and hard work guys!) Had Desert Decocrete redo my driveway and walkway that was previously painted and was chipping and very slippery. They suggested this product that looked like granite and was not slippery. The guys came out, were very polite, did a great job and I love it. Makes my whole house look fresh and beautiful. A big plus- just like my epoxy garage, any stains or dirt just mop up easily. Ok, so I have written over 100 reviews on Yelp for different businesses - mostly restaurants. I did a lot of research to find a company in the desert who could repair my stamped concrete pool deck. There seems to be just a handful of companies that will do that work. Most of them charge an arm and a leg for something that if you know what you are doing shouldn't be that hard. After meeting with about 4 other options, I found Desert Decocrete. They promptly scheduled with me via phone. They came out promptly and on time. They gave me a very reasonable quote. Then they came and did the work on time. The crew worked hard. They were very professional. They clearly knew their business. I was shocked at how little trouble it was for me - basically none. They cleaned the pool deck carefully. They repaired the section that needed repair. They matched everything perfectly - better than I expected in both texture and color. Then they sealed the whole concrete deck beautifully with a glossy sealer that makes the whole thing look new again (it was originally installed about 3 years ago). I saw that the guys pro-actively looked for every area that needed attention. I didn't have to take the time to "manage" them as they knew what they were doing. I am very pleased. I wish I called them first. I strongly recommend this company to homeowners who need their stamped concrete repaired. read more

Decocrete did my patio. They are inexpensive for a reason. The actual painting of the deck was good but the edges going into the corners near the doors and the sliders in the back were never smoothed out. The worker who did this was not trained properly if at all. I was told after an inspection by Raul that that was how its suppose to look. I had him come out to check the surface because it was staining. I was told there were different types of top coat. I was never given that choice. The one that was on there was applied with a bug sprayer!!! He did offer to power wash it and recoat it for $1000 but never returned to put the large pieces back. After $1000 for power washing and coating, I felt taken advantage of.. I was told by a painter that the job could have been done for less than half the price. BTW: I was asked for a tip by the workers. Don't they get paid to do their job? Spend the extra money to get it done right. I regret working with this company. Most importantly, this company does not have the required coverage to conduct this type of business. read more

These are the same people who go under the name of Decorative Concrete, for which the reviews are justifiably terrible. After about a year, from these people (Raul) doing our driveway and walkway, it is completely peeling up all over and looks absolutely pitiful. Raul came out and said they would redo it, but only the immediate places he saw peeling up and then try to "blend it in" to the rest of the driveway........what? They couldn't even originally match the driveway and the walkway to begin with. In my opinion, believe me, you definitely want to use somebody else, anybody else! I had one of the big advertised companys do my first job and didn't realize how much i wound up spending. Probably for all those full page ads. Anyway, for the last job and the current one (since i was so pleased with the workmanship and pricing deal) I picked Scott and his team once again. He worked with me on timing, pricing and design so everything fell within my budget. The prep work was detailed and the overlay was meticulous. AND it came in under bid!!!! How can you beat that. Being a frequent user of Yelp and in need of making our courtyard look better, we came across Desert Decocrete and we're so glad we did. The entire process went smooth with excellent communication. Their sales guy Raul came out to look over the job and you could tell he knew exactly what he was talking about. Raul told us he would have a quote out ASAP and we were so impressed with the details and price we didn't bother looking any further. Their wonderful crew were able to start a couple days sooner than expected, so that was even better than we had hoped for. They power washed, dried it with blowers, patched and applied the vapor seal and then let it dry. The next day they applied the base coat, then accent and lastly the seal coat. I had a fairly big job that included pouring additional concrete, repairing and resurfacing new and existing with Granite Grip and making a custom gas Fire pit. The concrete total job was approximately 2,200 sq feet. More amazing is how well the job went since I live in Santa Barbara and the work was being done in Palm Springs and I was unable to inspect the work progress. However, they kept me informed via text and email as well as sending photos of the work progress and even did a FaceTime to go over the location we wanted for the fire pit. I just came back from seeing their work and they killed it!! I was so impressed and amazed at the quality and professionalism they provided and would highly recommend them to any client. So one of their reps came out to give me a estimate on some pool deck repair, took measurements and said I'll be contacted in a few days with a price. 5 days went by nothing, called the rep back, he said he'll look into it and get back. Finally get the estimate, price seemed fair for the job, I was actually ready to give them the job, I just had a few questions to ask though, I called the owner, went directly to v-mail, which was full, I texted him and e-mailed him, never heard back, no reply. The folks at Desert Decocrete do great work and they are very knowledgable. Prior owners of our home had painted the pool deck and the paint was bubbling, cracking and peeling and looked horrible. We had Raul come out and talk about options and he was helpful in explaining how we could get our deck looking good again. Ultimately we decided to simply have the paint ground off the deck and have the basic concrete sealed - a look we are ultimately very happy with. The work was done, although it seemed like it was hard for them to schedule around the rain we had at the time and maybe the job was more invovled than they thought. In anycase, it took more than a week longer than they originally indicated. I could also tell Raul was disppointed we decided against having a more involved, expensive project of installing a decorative coating on our pool deck. Customer service is horrible!!! Raul is the worst. Initially, the job they did around our pool was done pretty good. Not great, but ok. Then, the cracks started happening. Trying to get Raul to come fix the cracks was like getting a knife into my eyeballs. No response for weeks. Raul should not be in the customer service business. Unfortunately, the owner has entrusted his business to Raul. He was rude to my wife in front of my 10 year old. The owner should re-think his choice on Raul. I am extremely dissatisfied with this company; the work was sloppy, not at all what was promised; they use the wrong product which caused many problems. Job was just completed less than a month ago and the deck is already chipped and stained all over. Scott the owner promised to make it all okay; several times I requested for him to see the problem in person, but to date he has refused to meet me; now, I can't even get a call back. I have dealt with Raul, who gets mad and becomes a bully when I try and get resolution to the issues. Repairs are still needed, but Now I'm told that they won't even come back to my business for another month, in the meantime, tile around the pool looks dirty and stained from the product they sprayed. This job was done at my hotel, they knew timing was of the essence and knew our expectations and those of our customer; everything we were promised was not followed up on and the job turned into a nightmare for us. So, we called this company and left a message last week to see about a quote to have our "free on site evaluation" (as posted on website) regarding our patio being stained. They got back to us with a text message. Not really a big deal right? They said they were booked which is fine, in fact, good for them. What this individual said next is classic. This person said that they have a minimum of 500 sq ft. Okay, I guess? So we inquired to this individual why they don't have that posted on their website and the reply was "not sure." Our reply was that we would report our terrible customer service review on Yelp. This individual through a text mind you, proceeded to call us a psycho and an asshole just because we wanted to ascertain about the 500 sq ft minimum. Yikes! Somebody from this company got a little defensive. Even if someone was really a psycho, or asshole, would you text that to someone? This person is probably a rogue employee that hasn't had proper training in customer service. Those text messages to us could never come from ownership/management. Oh, and another text was "Obviously you know we are the best in town." "we are booked up for months" Again, yikes! Hopefully ownership/management can find out who this person is and teach them a little tact/customer service 101. read more

Had my pool redone over 2 years ago and the concrete decking was just painted with regular concrete paint. Needless to say, it wasn't holding up and looked terrible. My concrete coping around the pool was crumbling in areas due to moisture getting under the paint. I called Desert Decocrete and Raul recommended a light sand, patching, and then concrete stain and sealer. I must say, my pool decking and coping around the pool looks great (almost like brand new)! I can tell already how much of a better surface this is than just the previous paint. Scott made sure everything was to my satisfaction and was great about following up. I couldn't be happier with the work this company did for us -- which involved resurfacing our pool deck and patio and our driveway/sidewalk. It was the lowest estimate we received and Scott was very easy to deal with and very responsive to emails (my preferred communication channel). The team that did the work, led by Raul, was terrific despite some obstacles. First, after we set the dates, another contractor we had hired to paint the exterior of our house also wanted to work at the same time. Scott said it wouldn't be a problem, and Raul and his team were great at coordinating with the painter so everyone could work. Then it rained two or three of the days they were here (not something we generally face in the desert), so they had to stop work and even re-do some of the work they had done when it was ruined by the rain.
