I am a 24 year old woman who works two jobs and goes to school. And on top of that I still have acne as if I was 17. I've tried everything to "cure" my acne and nothing has done more than put it at bay for a couple months and most of those options required taking unhealthy oral something-or-rathers. I believe what I have is hormonal acne that appears around my mouth and chin area. I went to Dermaspace because a friend from college recommended me them because of her success with them. My first time getting the iderm facial was my first facial ever. The experience was enjoyable- nice environment, relaxing yet it felt like Jody was seriously cleaning my skin (it is a bit painful but totally bearable for me). I went home and was a bit surprised by how red my face/pimples were. The next day my face had calmed and the next after that my face was nicer than I had seen it in 6 years. The Iderm facial helped heal my old acne that was there and Jody physically extracted the active acne that I had. I went back a week later with even better results after the 48 hours post-facial. I had never had weeks where I didn't obsess about acne since I was a teenager, and finally I was obsessing POSITIVELY over my face. This is cheesy, but my boyfriend literally said the words, "babe, your face is glowing." On top of the success of the treatments, Jody actually cares about improving your face and it is obvious in the way that he has worked with me to set up a regimen to kick this acne's butt. I have limited financial freedom and Jody has worked with that to help me plan an at home, in-between facial regimen. It seems his real goal is to help me get the skin that I want, and with his arsenal and some trial-and-error + patience, I'm confident we will find a balance that works for me. After years of dealing with moderate to severe acne problems and having tried almost everything to no avail, I decided to electrocute my face into behaving. I had never heard of this place until my friend posted a photo of her with the infamous mummy mask Dermaspace uses to impart a gentle electrical current through your skin. I inquired with my friend who recommended I see Cora at Dermaspace and after deep internet research (I seriously read every single review available to man), I made an appointment with Cora. She was SO sweet and made me feel instantly comfortable - I had been dealing with intense, post-wedding stress cysts all over my face so I was nervous to show a stranger my bare skin under those glaring esthetician lights. Cora could not have made me feel more comfortable. The facial involves several steps and takes about an hour to complete: first she removes your makeup and applies a gentle exfoliant. Next she places yucca root soaked cotton strips on your face and places a heat dome over the bandages for ten minutes. Then she vacuums the surface of your skin/does extractions. Lastly, you get wrapped up in cotton strips that are soaked in vitamin c, zinc, etc. The mask gets placed over these strips and you relax as the mask ionizes the solution for twenty minutes. It's a mixture of weird and amazing. I went four times the first month and my skin slowly progressed. I'm now going once a month and I don't have any cystic acne anymore! I'm dealing with bumps here and there but my skin is 75% better in a month and a half which is INSANE! Cora is the best, she really is. I look forward to getting my treatments from her every time. I also purchased the gentle cleanser and mask Dermaspace sells at Cora's recommendation because she only recommends things she thinks will work for you and I swear to God I instantly saw improvement and will only use that cleanser from now on. I have seen many different estheticians in hopes to help my stubborn skin. While the common "spa facials" are certainly relaxing to the mind, I found that they did nothing to reduce breakouts or my oily skin; sometimes even making things worse. I have been cursed with bad acne my whole life, to the point where I was prescribed Tetracycline. I wanted to find a product or service that would truly help my skin so I could discontinue using prescription medication. It's difficult to describe the impact Jody has made in my life. Acne runs in my family, and I started seeing a dermatologist when I was only eleven. Since then I have been prescribed and tried almost every topical and oral medication out there. Accutane, minocyclene, ProActiv, Tricyclene, and RetinA only begin to scrape the surface of what I've taken. Countless bleached towels, and a damaged liver at the age of 30, and I was still struggling to keep my acne under control. Dermaspace treated my acne problem. I really recommend trying their treatment. It's always worth a try. Jody is really helpful and he gives you good recommendations on what might have caused your problem and how best to treat it. As my skin condition gets better, Jody suggested me to come in every other week instead of every week. He said I should be able to come in every 3 weeks soon. I think these are pretty honest advices instead of trying to make customers come in every week in order to make the most profits. I highly recommend Dermaspace. I've been having acne problem (the type where you get tiny bumps on your face and sometimes you can squeeze out white toothpaste like stuff) for a long time and after trying different products, I still couldn't fix it. My cousin's friend recommended me this place and I thought I should try it out. After meeting with Jody 4 times and using the products Jody recommended, I saw significant improvement. I first saw this electric facial on the Bravo show Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and I thought it looked so weird and trippy I googled and found out that Dermaspace is the only place in Washington state that offers this rad treatment. I've had acne since I was a teenager and I was amazed by the results. I usually see Jody but his new person Chanté is awesome too. This is a deep cleaning facial treatment, emphasis on "treatment". It's not the pampering kind of foo-foo facial you typically think about. I go about every 3 weeks because it's really helped calm my acne down and give me the skin I've hoped for. This was my first review in 2009: My skin is clean!!! "The treatment was everything I was told it would be and it got my skin amazingly clean! Jody was very professional and courteous and gave me detailed information about each step of the process before he performed the steps. One wouldn't expect a facial involving an electrical current to be pleasant, let alone utterly relaxing. This is long overdue. I got a facial done by Kailey in November. I thought I have gotten a facial until I came to this place. This is the REAL deal. I don't have terrible acne. My acne is usually hormonal and stress but since my facial and the products that I bought, my face still looks and feels good. I love the products!!
