I agree with Nan, Jody is a really nice guy and it seems like a lot of people like this type of facial, but I did not. My skin didn't react well and I broke out the next day (not in an alarming way, but I usually don't break out at all). One pimple even left a dark mark that finally faded after a long while (I guess it's not his fault this pimple left the dark mark, but still). It's also really important that everyone who is trying this facial for the first time see the video of how the process works - it's not your typical pampering kind of facial, it's more of a treatment. I recently went to Dermaspace for my first facial and I'm hooked. My facial was done by Cora Speidel, I highly suggest booking with her! She's very sweet and I had a really relaxing time during my appointment. The facial products that were used felt great on my skin and very refreshing following the facial, Cora also explained the ingredients and benefits of the products that were used which was very comforting- I'm very particular about what I do or don't put onto my skin. I loved the "wrap and zap" electrotherapy, while the face mask you put on might look like a Halloween costume, I could feel my tingling pores getting cleaner with every passing minute. I have normal/oily skin with large pores, I'm 1 week out and my oil production has stayed within the normal range and my pores still feel fresh! Jody's facials are amazing. I've struggled with my oily but sensitive skin for years and have tried almost every product imaginable, but would still suffer through cystic breakouts. I tried expensive cleansers, lotions, masks, spot treatments, even regular Clarisonic use, but I'd still get those painful acne cysts. I found DERMASPACE on Yelp and couldn't believe the improvement I saw in my skin ever after my first treatment. I highly recommend visiting him regularly. This is when you'll start to see the most dramatic results. I schedule appointments every 4 weeks (or less when I can) and I no longer have breakouts. My skin is smoother, brighter, and I spend less money on products and makeup than I ever have. I stumbled on Dermaspace while searching for facials online and I'm so glad that I did! Dermaspace is miles above a typical spa facial in terms of quality, professionalism, and staff expertise. In my opinion, a facial here is more than worth the investment. After my treatments, my skin is smoother, softer, clearer, and much less congested. I've seen Cora twice now for the foundational Iderm facial and can't recommend her or that treatment enough. After dealing with years of bad acne as a teen and then a bout of hormonal acne in my 30s, I'm very sensitive about my skin. On my first visit, Cora listened to my reservations and then took the time to explain each step of the treatment as she went. She even manages to make the extraction process bearable. Beyond the facial, she also advised me on the products I was using. As a result of a few small tweaks to my at-home routine, I've found my skin to be less dry and oily overall. Dermaspace has some wonderful skincare products for purchase (I recommend their Zinc Sulphur mask to use at home), but the staff has never been pushy about up-selling them, which I appreciate. I love Dermaspace. I love Cora Speidel. To say that Cora has fixed my skin would be an understatement. I've dealt with pretty consistent cystic acne on my chin for the past 8 years and have tried hundreds of products and "natural" home remedies (thanks Pinterest) that claimed to address deep pimples and cystic acne. Nothing was really working consistently and by this past October, I was frustrated and decided to look for facial services that targeted problematic skin. I ended up booking an appt with Dermaspace on a whim, and told myself that I'd happily save the money and never go back if my first visit sucked. I made the mistake of doing little to no research on the place prior to my iderm facial, so when I showed up and saw all the equipment in the room I was a little uneasy. Disclaimer to anyone considering Dermaspace and their offering: this facial is WEIRD but it works. My visits are usually a little over an hour and involve a series of interesting smells from the various products, a heat dome that literally sits on top of your face for 10+ minutes, and the final step (seen in lots of the review photos) that reminds me of something out of Hannibal Lecter. Jokes aside, the process and methodology are effective and Cora is the absolute sweetest. You can tell she is passionate about skincare and perhaps more importantly, about the ingredients within skincare products. She has patiently listened to my concerns and offered advice that is backed by hours of research she's done on her own time to understand how different products interact with skin. She's simply the best and I would highly recommend her to anyone considering an iDerm facial, or other service offered by Dermaspace. I just completed my 5th visit and am cyst-free, have less whiteheads, and currently have zero active pimples for the first time in years. My skin isn't exactly where I want it to be yet, but I've seen steady improvement since October thanks to my visits. My advice to new clients would be to have patience and trust in the process. Dermaspace SAVED my skin! I have struggled with adult acne for the past 6 years. I've tried everything - from proactiv to expensive prescriptions and NOTHING has cleared up my skin like my visits to Dermaspace. I've seen both Jody and Holly - both are awesome! They do the same procedure, but work different days. Both put you at ease and really know their stuff! My skin has transformed! Since I started going (about 3 months ago,) I've had only 1 or 2 pimples in total! Considering before that I constantly had giant, cystic acne that covered my chin and jaw, I'd say it's close to a miracle! Plus, you'll have a good time! I have seen both Jody and Chante for more than a year now, depending on who fits with my schedule. In my late 20s I started having horrible hormonal breakouts around my chin that consisted on cystic acne.I have tried other treatments such as monthly facials and/or chemical peels, but this is the only thing that has COMPLETELY cleared my face. They advertise this as physical therapy for your skin, and I totally agree. If you want to get a pampering facial, this is not it. I decided to get a facial here on a whim after reading so many amazing reviews, but I'm legitimately baffled about what people are raving about. The place was lovely and the woman who worked on my face was super nice to talk to, but my face looks exactly the same as it did before I went in last weekend. My skin felt really soft right afterwords (similar to how it feels after using a cheap face scrub from the drugstore) but it's been three days since I had it done and aside from some mild redness the day of, there has been zero improvement or change in my skin (which was neither terrible nor amazingly clear to begin with). I'm kicking myself for wasting over a hundred dollars on this but oh well - live and learn. read more

As a 38 yr old mother of 3 I'm sad to admit that my skin has been my last priority over the past couple of years.
