My wife had the fish and chips. Food was good and plentiful. Service was very good, ate with some old friends, there was no rush, they gave us plenty of space. The menu is varied, specials are not typical fare, but also do not become science projects like so many "creations" do. The food is left to speak for itself. Affordable. Two small criticisms, can be loud in certain areas. They are very accommodating in moving you. The parking lot. Walking over the bridge can be an issue with cars. Worth the trip.

It sounds bold, and it is, but it works beautifully. The broth is rich and deeply savory, the cheese pull is perfect, and the crispy rings add a texture you never knew the classic was missing. The pork chop remains the star of the menu--huge, expertly seasoned, and cooked with precision. It's widely considered the best in the city, and honestly might be the best in the state. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor, it's the kind of entrée you end up recommending to friends for weeks. Their octopus is another standout, prepared with surprising delicacy. Tender, not chewy, with a perfect char that adds just the right amount of smokiness. It's balanced, refined, and one of the most memorable small plates you'll find locally. And don't leave without dessert--the crème brûlée is phenomenal. Silky smooth custard under a flawlessly torched sugar crust that cracks just right. Simple, classic, and executed perfectly. Between the inventive dishes and the warm atmosphere, The First Post remains a must-visit for anyone who loves great food done exceptionally well.

My friend and I were in York looking for a good place to grab a bite. I found this place on Yelp…read moreand we decided to try it. It was a clean, welcoming place with friendly staff. You order at the bar and they give you a buzzer when your food is ready to be picked up at the window. My friend was excited because they had bourbon and burgers, which hit the spot for her. She got a black and bleu burger with a side salad and raved about the burger. I opted for a gyro with fries, and a German pilsner. My sandwich was good, but I thought it needed more tomatoes and onions. The fries had a kick and were a very generous sized portion. If I'm ever in the York area again, I'd definitely stop back in.

Went with the bartenders suggestion of the Rei Rei Sauce (Combination of Mango Habanero Sauce, Thai Chili Sauce and a smoky BBQ Sauce as described by the bartender). Apparently they made it for a regular patron, and it was so good, it made it to the menu. . Wings were "naked" decent size and cooked rather crispy. I'm usually a hot and honey guy, so this was a bit more spicy than my norm, but it wasn't burn my butt off hot. Good mix of flavors in that sauce. Look forward to visiting again and trying the hot and honey. Beer list was also extensive and delicious! -- at Collusion Tap Works Lititz.

Got drinks - my husband was delighted with the beer options and loved the single hop All Citra the best, and he is a beer snob (in the best way!). The Sauvignon blanc was ok, but I realize that is not their focus. We had calamari to share - good flavor, but more pillowy than crisp. The platters are the way to go - $20 for a ridiculous amount of terrific food! The pulled pork was smoky, tender and homemade sauces were perfect. Sides of coleslaw, beans and a cornbread muffin were all tasty and a nice sized serving. I had enough left for another whole meal! The brisket was awesome too - got a chunk from my husband. Our server was Allie - she did a great job - there when we needed her, knowledgeable and nice as could be! The food is served quickly, which was nice if you are traveling. Overall, a fun experience in a beautiful setting and a very reasonable price.

The only thing I can even say about the food is that I didn't try it -- and thank God for that,…read morebecause after what I went through, I wouldn't want to give them a single dime of business. Let me be absolutely clear: this place might as well hang a sign out front that says "Whites Only." The energy, the glares, the outright hostility -- all of it screams you're not welcome here. If you're Black, do yourself a favor and stay far, far away. From the moment I walked in, every face turned toward me like I had just crashed their family reunion -- the Brady Bunch and their extended Confederate cousins all rolled into one. The tension in that room was suffocating. Then came the so-called bartender -- a bitter, worn-down, nasty woman with the personality of a cold ashtray. She went out of her way to make me feel invisible and unwanted, acting like my presence alone ruined her day. She didn't serve with attitude; she served disrespect. And just when I thought the encounter couldn't possibly get worse, this miserable, wrinkled clown had the audacity to bark "Don't come back!" as I was leaving. That's fine -- trust me, I WON'T. But they need to know this: word travels fast, and people deserve to know exactly what kind of hateful establishment this is. -A Black Guy

The grounds are really beautiful and would definitely make a good place to host a wedding or other big event. They make their own cider and beer and their menu features a few gluten free options including GF buns and GF pizza crust with other GF options clearly marked. We ordered the brussel sprouts and buffalo wings to share and my grandma and I split a white pizza on cauliflower crust. The brussels were good but nothing life changing - I do think if they cut them in half they'd have turned out more crispy and less mushy. The buffalo wings were slathered in a delicious sauce and very good. The white pizza was just OK. We asked for chicken to be added but they forgot. The crust was thin but not very crispy. I caught a glimpse of their regular pizzas which looked delicious if you are able to tolerate gluten. I also had the Wyn-mosa, their take on a mimosa. It came with their citrus cider mixed in and it was a really nice combination. They even put a candle in our dessert for my grandma, after I secretly requested it. The food is nothing super memorable but it's a good option if you're in the area.
