Just because your system can't read my card doesn't mean you should automatically assume it's because I don't have funds and speak to a customer in a condescending manner as if it's my fault. I was in complete shock. I even showed her my bank account, which had more than enough money, just so she would back off. I honestly don't know if this is how customers are normally treated or if I was being judged because I look young or because I'm a minority. I can't say for certain, but the interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. It's disappointing because the drink itself was excellent, but the service turned what should have been a great experience into a bad impression. Wish it wasn't so.

Almost every time I've been there on a weekday it was very relaxed but sometimes the place is packed. They have plenty of seating so there's always a table further back where you can get away from the crowd. Plenty of nice outdoor seating too. They even have an upper level they sometimes host things in, I think one time I was there they had an art gallery and they even let us check it out when it wasn't open. This was music to my ears (pun intended). I believe that the good music can be as important as pairing wine or drinks with food and Ashley had it dialed in. While at the bar I ordered a Kettle One Martini with a lemon twist. The drink was delivered and look liked any other martini but then I took a drink. The martini was very smooth and the lemon twist was incredible. In fact it may have been the best Martini I ever had. If you are looking for a great atmosphere, great service and possibly the best Martini's you'll ever have then make it a point to visit Ashley at the Rendezvous lounge. I should mention something about the food since I did eat 3 meals there. Of course the Martini's were a big draw but the food is equally good. Over the 3 nights that I dined at the Rendezvous Lounge I had roasted pears and Brie Quesadilla, Wedge Salad with thick cut bacon, Chesapeake Blue Crab Bisque, Central Market Salad with goat cheese and cranberries and their seared tuna. All of which were presented nicely and tasted wonderful. I recommend any of these small plates depending on what your in the mood for. They are definitely attempting to create a hippie lounge atmosphere, and the clients follow que. It is a comfortable scene in here usually. Aside from the main bar room, there is an additional area in the back to dine in a bit more privacy. The menu selections and drinks are overpriced. The food is okay, nothing spectacular, my favorite item is the red bean hummus. If your looking for a casual night out downtown First Cap is a good pick.
