Visiting my brother in Pennsylvania, he suggest we try this place out one night. The atmosphere was beautiful and totally not what I expected. I expected it to be loud and hard to communicate, but it was actually very comfortable volume. When I first looked at the menu I was overwhelmed because I didn't really comprehend how most of these dishes would taste. We ended up ordering a bunch of different items and they were all absolutely delicious. This place might make you step out of your comfort zone, but I don't think you will regret it. I also enjoyed a cocktail and a really cute cold sake in a sipper box. I would definitely recommend this place for anybody who would like an upscale experience and is a bit adventurous with food. The server did a great job by giving us just enough space and not rushing us.

This is such a cool spot! The matcha gimlet was one of the best cocktails I've had. The dude spinning vinyl kept a lively mood going without being obtrusive. We could enjoy the music but still have a conversation. The bartenders were helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back!

I recently brought a group of friends to this spot after being drawn in by its modern, stylish, and fun atmosphere. The ambience is moody and intimate--dark, but with just enough lighting to set the right vibe. While the space is on the smaller side and can get a bit loud, especially when it's busy. There is a DJ most nights which really enhanced the experience. Now, onto the food--everything we had was delicious! We ordered a variety of small plates, including some sort of pork dumplings, which came with a savory peanut sauce that added a nice depth of flavor. Later in the evening, we went for their ramen, yay! Most of us really enjoyed the ramen--it had a rich, flavorful broth, tender noodles, and well-balanced toppings. That being said, one of my pickier friends felt it was a bit mild for their taste, but I appreciated that they offer additional sauces and condiments so you can customize the flavor to your liking. I also love that they rotate their ramen options from time to time, which keeps things interesting for repeat visitors. One major plus is that they accommodate large groups. We were a party of seven or eight and were able to get a spacious table in the back. At the time of our visit, we were able to call ahead and make a reservation, which was a huge plus for a group our size. The drinks here are also a highlight! Their cocktail menu is creative, incorporating Japanese-inspired flavors that make for unique and well-balanced drinks. They also offer a great selection of sake, with both warm and cold options, which I really appreciated. I've tried a couple of their sake offerings on different visits, and each one has been excellent. The only downside to our experience was the service. While our server was friendly and knowledgeable, the restaurant seemed understaffed. It looked like only one or two servers were handling the entire area, which made it difficult to flag someone down when we wanted to order more food or drinks. Given that this place serves a lot of small plates, a digital ordering system (like tablets or an app) could be a great addition to streamline the process. Overall, I highly recommend this spot! Whether you're looking for a fun night out with friends, a cozy date night, or even a post-work dinner, this place delivers on atmosphere, food, and drinks. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back!

I think probably the ONLY izakaya in lancaster, definitely worth the visit. We got there right when it opened and there was already a line. It's located in the same building as the ramen shop. We were able to be seated immediately and the staff were very accommodating. Fun vibes, with a DJ playing vinyls. The drinks and food were great- favorites were the spicy dumplings and the Katsu.

I will say I felt like I was transported to Japan after walking through to get to this spot, which was a well throughout concept. The ambiance here was fun and easy going for late night. My partner and I were looking forward to trying the drinks and we really enjoyed it. We decided on a small snack which was the mentaiko tempura which was a bit of a disappointment as it seemed like a regular shrimp tempura without the fish roe. Overall, I would come back for the drinks and vibe!

Got to check out this amazing spot during Comicon weekend. There was a line and as soon as they opened the bar was instantly filled! Super happy to have got a seat with a deer friend! The food and drinks were equally amazing and that's rare these days to go to place that does both well! Sounds were immaculate and vibes were even better. Service was also great. All the bartenders were attentive and friendly

We loved Issei's Hi-Fi Iyazaka! We got the cauliflower, cucumbers, tuna toast, chili dumplings, gyoza, taiyaki a la mode, and duck fat chazuke. For the drinks, we got some tasty cocktails and Mocktails . The inside of the bar is beautiful, the staff is so nice, and the DJ was very cool. Overall, a great experience. Can't wait to come back to try Issei's ramen.

Amazing atmosphere. Amazing food. Amazing drinks. The fish & crisps is amazing. The cucumber dish is incredible. Honestly, it's all unreal. Again, ambiance is so cool.

I actually had ramen up in Issei, and while I was eating a friend found out I was in Lancaster and recommended that I go to Hi-Fi Izakaya.

They stay true to their name with their decor. They were coffin shaped shelves, gothic/satanic themed wallpaper. It's all very well done. Very unique! One of the staff members came over to tell us that their beer and spirits are all from PA. This was music to our ears! We ordered a local IPA. We shared the Brussels Caesar salad. It had crispy brussels sprouts and arugula. Topped homemade crouton. Dusted with Parmesan. It was delicious! Loved this spot! Will go back the next time we're in town!

Coffin Bar is one of the more distinctive brunch spots in Lancaster, and it works better in…read moredaylight than I expected. The vibe leans goth, with a definite metal/punk edge rather than a tightly curated "theme bar" look. It's not as uniformly designed as the name might suggest, but it is interesting and cohesive enough to feel intentional. During brunch, the space is well-lit, and they keep the heavy metal/thrash/punk soundtrack going at a very low volume, exactly the right choice. It supports the aesthetic without turning brunch into a performance. The food is the reason to come. The menu is built around the seven deadly sins (Lust, Gluttony, Wrath, etc.), and everything we tried was outstanding. Between the two of us we had Lust and Gluttony, and both were excellent, high quality, well-executed, and clearly made with care. Service was solid: efficient, reasonably quick, and professional. Not overly chatty, but attentive enough that you don't feel ignored. Drinks were fine. The mimosa and Bloody Mary were exactly what you'd expect: competent and enjoyable, nothing gimmicky. Logistics are also manageable for a downtown spot. Parking exists in the area, including garages nearby, and it's a comfortable walk if you're already in the city center. Overall: a fun, slightly offbeat atmosphere paired with genuinely great brunch food. If you like a darker aesthetic but still want a bright, relaxed daytime meal, Coffin Bar is an easy recommendation.

From garrulous bar boors and vapid bar whores to remote control freaks and bathroom drug sneaks, Hildy's has something for nobody. Hang your pride on a nearby tree and take three steps up the curved corner door steps to take one huge step down. If you like a drink that's stiffer than the two-day-old hot dog that got on the countertop ferris wheel and forgot to get off, then this bar is for you and the cough medicine high you rode in on. If you're feeling brave, try the hot dogs. If you're feeling braver, try the women. If you want a blender drink, try shutting ignorant noise hole. You can sidle up to the bar and select something from the "rotating" daily curation of liquor and beer, or begin with a step out the back door and a peek down the famed Conjugal Alley which runs behind the building--you might catch a show! If you like smoked meats and smoked clothing, bring them in fresh and they'll be smoked to perfection in about 20 minutes! Enjoying a drink at the bar, a patron might overhear some wayfaring, well-to-do tourists who have wandered in describe it as " a punch in the face without the upside" or "a waking fever dream," while non-tippling neighbors just call it "that god d$%n bar on the corner."
