When I first spoke with the salesman here I kind of warned them that I had the worst experience ever at another dealership closer to where I work (Liccardi Mitsubishi in Green Brook, NJ). That other dealership lied and hustled me and got angry when I didn't want to pay their "optional" fees. Bait and switch and the worst type of dealership experience. A few days later I decided I would give car dealers one more try. Prime Auto Imports backed up what had been advertised on their website, that there was no hidden fees. They were completely transparent and you knew what you would pay up front. I told the dealer that I was interested in this car and they moved some cars around, pulled the car out and let me test drive it with my girlfriend. They were never pushy, never annoying and were there to answer any questions I had, including questions about different cars around the lot. This was the best dealership experience I've ever had honestly. It was effortless and stress-free and that's all I wanted. That's what I got and I drove off with my new-to-me silly Caddy wagon.

Exceptional Experience -- Especially Joshua, Eli & Zaid I…read morerecently purchased a pre-owned 2018 Tesla Model S from Route 23 Nissan, and after my experience, I can confidently give this dealership five stars. This was my first time doing business with Route 23 Nissan. I had seen some mixed reviews beforehand, so naturally I went in paying close attention to how I would be treated. From my first conversation with Eli, however, my experience was extremely positive. Eli was phenomenal from beginning to end. He answered all of my questions, encouraged me to come in and actually see and drive the vehicle, and never pressured me. Even after I left the dealership, he continued answering additional questions and stayed responsive throughout the entire process. I especially want to recognize Joshua, the manager. When Joshua came out to speak with me personally and finalize the deal, I immediately appreciated his straightforward, no-games approach. There wasn't endless back-and-forth or salesmanship. He listened to me, understood my price point and what I needed to feel comfortable making the purchase, and worked with me in good faith to reach a deal that made sense. Joshua's experience, professionalism, care, and understanding were invaluable. More importantly, he has a way of making you feel less like somebody sitting across the desk negotiating a car purchase and more like family. He genuinely seemed concerned that I was comfortable with the deal rather than simply closing another sale. Joshua is a phenomenal manager and a tremendous representative of this dealership. Once we reached an agreement, Zaid handled the paperwork and was equally outstanding. He explained everything clearly, made sure the paperwork reflected exactly what had been negotiated, and made the process easy and comfortable. He presented the available warranties and other options, but there was zero pressure when I declined anything I didn't want. Having purchased vehicles for roughly three decades, I really appreciated that. The Tesla itself was a trade-in that the dealership chose to retail rather than simply send to auction after evaluating it. For a 2018 vehicle, I was extremely impressed. The interior was immaculate, the car drove beautifully, and its overall condition gave me confidence in my purchase. What impressed me even more happened after the sale. I discovered a relatively minor issue with the vehicle. Even though I purchased it as-is, I contacted Eli and Joshua. There was no argument, finger-pointing, or attempt to hide behind the paperwork. They simply told me, "We'll take care of it." When I return for my plates, they're going to address the issue at no additional cost to me. That says a lot about a dealership. The deal was already done, but their commitment to the customer wasn't. After my personal experience, I would absolutely recommend giving Route 23 Nissan the opportunity to earn your business and forming your own opinion. I'm extremely happy that I did. Five stars all around, with a very special thank-you to Joshua, Eli, and Zaid. Joshua's leadership and straightforward approach, Eli's exceptional customer service, and Zaid's professionalism made this one of the smoothest and most comfortable vehicle purchases I've experienced.

Classic bait-and-switch pricing…read more The vehicle was advertised online at one price, with small fine print saying dealer fees were not included. Once we arrived, we found out the "dealer fees" were nearly $5,000 and completely mandatory. We were told the fees covered things like reconditioning, detailing, tires, etc. -- basically the normal cost of preparing a trade-in vehicle for sale. I have bought many vehicles over the years and have NEVER seen a dealership tack on almost $5,000 in surprise non-negotiable add-ons like this. Josh, the manager, told us this is "what dealers are doing now." If that's true, consumers should run the other direction. I do want to say Javian, our salesperson, was fantastic and handled everything professionally. The issue is clearly dealership management and pricing practices above him.

At first, we were planning to just take a look and then head back to enterprise after they picked up the car. And I was almost ready to leave after a seemingly cold welcome from Junior. But my mom and brother insisted on a test drive. Junior came along with us and was a really pleasant guy. I definitely had a rough first impression, but Junior quickly turned it around for us, letting my brother do another test drive as he got the paperwork all setup. By the time we got back, Junior didn't waste any time trying to get me with the typical sales tactics "activation fee on a certified car, add-ons, etc." When I told him where I was starting, he immediately went straight to a more realistic number. Within an hour, we had agreed on an OTD price and he looked into the financing and Honda cash incentives that were available to us to help make it work. I paid a little more than I wanted to, but the great service and kind approach that Junior had was worth it. One of my top 3 fastest car negotiations (I've done more than 50 in the last 10 years). Junior was incredibly kind and patient, helping my brother navigate the paperwork and what was needed since it was his first time buying a car. What was really great was how he treated my mom and brother with respect, always answering their questions and asking if they needed any water or coffee as we waited for financing and terms to come through. Dave, his manager also came out to shake my brother's hand and provide us with all the certified pre-owned paperwork and Junior got us in and out of financing with George within 30 minutes. I was very happy that George didn't push when we said no to the extra protection packages (that's how they get you!). I was holding off to post a review until we got our mats (Junior got us the all weather CRV monogrammed ones), worries that they wouldn't honor it. But we had all the paperwork in a USB drive that included the IOU and free lifetime oil changes that came with the car. A week later, we got an email that the mats were in, but we had a new problem - the battery was dead after only 110 miles. We had to jump start the car each time we got in. My brother sent Junior an email, and he texted us back within an hour on July 4th. Despite the holiday and him going on vacation over the weekend, he got us setup with service and informed Dave Bradley (his manager) for the next morning. I stopped by to talk to Dave first thing in the morning, and he kindly helped us out, setting us up with a new battery from service. Maegan helped me out and checked in with me about the status of the battery test when she saw me after finding another customer. I addressing me by name. I thought there was going to be a fight to get service to talk to Dave over in sales, but to my surprise, they had already worked it all out. I just had to hop in the car and go home. Even though there were some bumps along the way, Dave and Junior put all my worries to bed. My family's always been skeptical about buying used cars, but we definitely will feel better about it if we can buy from Junior and Dave!

I found Sam to be very typical and by that, I mean having a dismissive behavior towards a woman customer. Sam barely acknowledged my friend but was very interested in speaking to my fiancé. I did comment that my friend is the one who is purchasing the car and all communication should be directed towards her, not my fiancé. I was very put off by this and had the purchase been for me, I would have left and gone to another dealership. Alas, my friend is much more patient than I am because I can't tolerate that sort of outdated attitude. This communication by Sam continued throughout our visit and up until we went with my friend to finalize the purchase that weekend. The only saving grace was the wonderful finance manager, Rolando. He was hilarious and refreshingly straight forward so that my friend could make the best decisions for financing her new car. Aside from the subpar experience with Sam, everything else worked out wonderfully. I would recommend dealing with a different salesperson who understands that women are capable of buying cars.
