I bought my 2014 Cadillac CTS4 Wagon one week ago today. I love the car and my experience with these guys was top notch. When I first spoke with the salesman here I kind of warned them that I had the worst experience ever at another dealership closer to where I work (Liccardi Mitsubishi in Green Brook, NJ). That other dealership lied and hustled me and got angry when I didn't want to pay their "optional" fees. Bait and switch and the worst type of dealership experience. A few days later I decided I would give car dealers one more try. Prime Auto Imports backed up what had been advertised on their website, that there was no hidden fees. They were completely transparent and you knew what you would pay up front. I told the dealer that I was interested in this car and they moved some cars around, pulled the car out and let me test drive it with my girlfriend. They were never pushy, never annoying and were there to answer any questions I had, including questions about different cars around the lot. This was the best dealership experience I've ever had honestly. It was effortless and stress-free and that's all I wanted. That's what I got and I drove off with my new-to-me silly Caddy wagon. read more

I love Prime Auto Imports in Bloomingdale cause they have an excellent selection of pre-owned vehicles with low miles. The staff are nice at the dealership. Thank you for all that you do. read more

Scammers , don't let them Ron you. Very, very, very unprofessional. They'll attempt to raise the APR given by the bank to keep the extra money. Did a quotes with another bank and the APR was 5 percent, there's was triple. That's how they get, go to a dealership with you own loan. read more

Prime Auto Imports - Car Dealers Near Me - Riverdale, New Jersey

Fantastic Customer service. They went above and beyond to accommodate my son on his first car purchase. I highly recommend them

I found a used Volvo that I liked here. They allowed me take the car to a mechanic to get it inspected, had me pay for it, then sold the car to someone else when it got a clean bill of health. They have a bizarre policy where even if you indicate over the phone that you'd like to buy a car and offer to give them a deposit, they'll sell it to the first person who comes in person. Now I'm down $45 for the inspection and have to start all over with another car. Don't let them waste your time and money. Update in response to the dealer's comment: Gabe texted me BEFORE the car was sold, saying he had another person who was taking it on a test drive. I told him I wanted the car and asked to give him a deposit over the phone. No, he said, I have to offer it to the people who are here now. Really, I asked, given that I already paid to have it inspected and am telling you I want it -- and offering you a deposit? He then said he would be willing to reimburse half the cost of the inspection - not the full cost - and wanted to just keep chatting on the phone about how he wouldn't sell it to me. It was infuriating. Such a waste of my time. And I had driven 1.5 hours to see the car. read more

Pro: they have a lot of old cars Con: - poor service - we had an appointment with credit approved BUT waited over 2 hours for them to bring the car out for a test drive - the car wasn't like the way it was advertised. They didn't wash or fix the car. Wasn't even able to open the driver seat door and the engine was very bad. read more

I've always been skeptical of used car dealers, to the extent that I usually stuck with leasing new or buying certified pre-owned cars. We needed a relatively affordable but reliable first car for our 17 year old daughter and we stopped by Prime Auto Imports just to see what they had. We live in town, so it wasn't like we went far and had the pressure of coming home with something, so we just took our time look. We found a beautiful Audi for her, which was extremely clean and drove exceptionally well, and we bought it. We've been extremely happy with it ever since. One month later, I decided to stop in just to see what I could get for my pickup truck (which was only five years old) and if there was anything on the lot that might interest me. I found a full size SUV and same as the Audi, it was in beautiful shape. I traded my truck in on the spot and drove away with a beautiful car. Now, I've always been leery of European cars, especially used ones, but I thought "if I can't afford to fix it, I'd never buy it". It helps to know a little about cars when buying used because you know what to look and listen for that can give you an idea of how well a car was maintained (under the car, under the hood, etc). Even so, I took the cars to a local mechanic who specializes in European luxury cars and he took 5 hours to go over every inch of them. Minus a few things that need to be addressed and won't cost more than maybe a few hundred dollars all together to fix (hey, they're used cars and you must expect to shell out a few bucks to keep them in top shape), he told me that I bought two beautiful cars that were very well cared for and his final reports outlined not one issue of concern, minus a few normal wear and tear items. My point is, Prime sells quality used cars at a great price and gave me a fair trade in on my truck. It literally is a "zero pressure" buying experience and Adel and Gabe run a very honest operation (not to mention, they're just incredibly nice people). There were no "gotchas", no bait and switch tactics, and they're extremely transparent about the cars they sell. We were extremely happy with our experience and our purchases from Prime, and are proud to support a local business in our town. Out of all of the used car dealers on Hamburg Turnpike Prime is the best, hands down. We highly recommend them for your next used vehicle purchase. Thanks Gabe and Adel, for running an honest operation and being a great local business to deal with! - Art read more

If you want to go to a Junkyard this is your place. My Fiancee and I came to Prime Auto looking to purchase an Suv for our growing family. I looked up a Volkwagen Touareg that looked like it was priced correctly and was well maintained online. To our dismay when we viewed the car in person this was not the case. We took out the vehicle for a test drive and it was very dirty on the interior, and you could obviously tell it was never cleaned. The carfax mentioned that there was damage at some point in the back, but this was fixed. What wasn't shown in the carfax was the damage on the front right side of the vehicle. You can tell that the front right portion of the bumper was replaced and it was simply just GLUED back into place. When we returned from the test drive we told this to the sales rep and he had no explanation. Being that there was damage that was not shared on the listing we offered a lower price than we would have liked to. The sales rep became very aggressive in a his tone and started frantically yelling at us, and told us to get off his lot. Needless to say we were in both complete utter shock. Ron, the owner, tried to diffuse the situation and admitted that his salesman was a hot head and has a temper. Obviously we left, and will never go back there. I hope that our negative experience helps you steer clear from this place. By the way, take a look at their yelp page. read more

My name is Charles, I brought a 2010 Subaru Legacy from Prime Auto Imports, I took it to my machanic and he found some things wrong with it. So I took it back to Prime Auto and they said we will fix it and you can take it back to your machanic to make sure we fixed it, so that's exactly what they did. So I brought it, then a few days after I had it, it started overheating on me so they told me to bring it back, they even took it to the Subaru dealership for me and they found out it was the heads, so they went ahead and fixed it for me and I didn't have to pay anything. I appreciate all that they did for me, which they didn't have to do, so I recommend them highly. Thank you, Prime Auto Imports. read more

We bought a 2016 Land Rover Discovery from Prime Auto Imports. The following morning, the whole back bumper fell off. Brought the car back to Gabe and they screwed on the old BROKEN bumper... RED FLAG NUMBER ONE. 2 weeks later, the car started refusing to go and revving high. It was so inconsistent that I was nervous to call and complain. 3 months after buying the car, and the now very consistent high rev car is smoking in the front and back. The car cannot go anywhere and won't crank. I called Gabriel, who was originally SO kind, and he said " I cannot control what happens with the car mechanically after you buy it." Guys, I genuinely am willing to pay for SOME repairs. But in discovering that the gasket had blown (and seeing THOUSANDS of dollars in repairs) I am genuinely pissed. Gabe offered ZERO HELP and got off the phone as quickly as possible. We are out 25,000.00 and a car that cannot be driven and is only 3 months old :( So disappointed. read more

Buying a used car is difficult to say the least. I spent about 3 months looking for a very specific car with specific options. I came across Prime Auto via a car guru search and came down to check out a car. The car, '10 Volkswagen GTI, was very clean with small signs of its milage. The negotiation process was very easy. I knew the true price of the car with a quick Kelly Blue Book search and they came very close to the price, so we made a deal. Matt was pretty straight forward, no BS. Put a deposit down, came that weekend, the car was spotless. This detailer really went the extra mile, car looked like it was off the show room floor. Got the title 2 weeks later, as expected. Runs great, been about a month. Very pleased to work with Matt and his team. What a relief it was to finally get this over with. read more

Their staff is unbelievably obnoxious, pushy and arrogant. I have the emails to prove their horrendous behavior. Don't trust their 5 star reviews on Google. Most of them are from "1 review accounts". These are usually 95% fake. And we see it all over: on google, tripadvisor, etc. Really - who creates an account to post 5 stars for some small used car place then never reviews anything else in their lives? We had been interested in a car they had listed. The specs and price were ok, and the carfax looked clean. We then spoke with the service manager at a dealership who had serviced this vehicle - we were told to "run away" from this car! FYI - we did find a good used car at Automotive Avenues in Wall Township. Their pricing is "fair" - not overly high or low. It's a no-haggle professional experience. The car was in great shape and low mileage for its age. read more

To the business owner: i did not test drive the vehicle you mentioned nor did I offer any money. My friend actually came to look at a totally different car. My current car is 3 years old (got it brand new) and I'm happy with it and have not been looking for anything else. Also, My review was posted 9 months ago, yet the owner has responded today with false information. You clearly have me mistaken for someone else. And the customer service given that dawas absolutely disgusting. I stand firm in my opinion of this place. ANOTHER UPDATE: I still don't understand what the owner is talking about. I never made an appointment or provided any information about myself, nor did I offer money for a car. I'm not in their system whatsoever. My friend came to look at a car (which is not the car the owner mentioned) and because the service was so poor, i had to leave a review to inform others not to waste their time there. Hopefully, the owner stops responding to me with nonsense and lies. read more

My family and I took the nearly 2 hour drive to Prime because I found a SUV that I wanted through Carfax. We arrived and were greeted by Ameer immediately. I had emailed them a few days prior and after a little chat he remembered. Told him I wanted to test drive the 2010 Honda CR-V and he grabbed the key for us. Told us to take our time with the test drive and off we went. The SUV ran beautifully. They only turn off was the interior was filthy. The previous owner obviously had dogs and NEVER cleaned the vehicle . After the test drive I decided I wanted to buy it. The process as usual was time consuming but one of the best car buying experiences. Ameer was great despite not feeling well. Adel the owner was cool too as well as ALL the other employees. We were buying at the same time as another couple (who were hilarious and amazing) and they added to the experience. Everyone was relaxed, laughing, and chatting. The other couple even helped us make a few decisions we weren't too sure about. All in all, great place, great people, and great cars. I LOVE my Honda CR-V and after I get it detailed I'll be even happier. Thank you to everyone at Prime Auto for being awesome read more

I wasn't going to but I feel compelled to write this review. On oct 20th I bought a 2010 vehicle,12 days later as I was driving to my mechanic 10 blocks away from home the cross member cracked and everything related(parts) snapped! Due to extreme rust underneath the engine bay. The fact that they advertise excellent condition used cars NOT TRUE! I am already facing a bill of $3,000 of repairs. My error was buying as is, I am regretfully disgusted! Buyers BEWARE!!!!! read more

Not very honest people to deal with. Promised to fix several issues with the car, but never did. A month after the car was purchased, I brought it to a body shop because the water pump was leaking, even though they said their mechanic had checked everything. The body shop revealed multiple issues with the car and sent a note to Prime Auto Motors saying that the condition of the vehicle is life-threatening. When the guys from Prime Auto Motors read that, they said "I think you want too much from us". Save your money and buy a car elsewhere. These guys don't stay behind their words. And don't get Cars Protection Plus insurance from them. Read the reviews before you do. I did not and it's a waste of money. read more

I purchased a 2006 Land Rover LR3 from Prime Auto in May 0f 2020. The car had unusually low miles and was very clean throughout. It was also priced fairly. While I had a mechanic friend give it a quick look, it wasn't until a month later that I brought it into a Land Rover specialist for an oil change that I discovered the extent of the damage to the vehicle. I needed a new axel, a rear differential, there was a massive leak in the passenger side axel, there was no spare tire (which won't pass inspection in NY without) and numerous other small issues. When I purchased the car I assumed I would need to put some money into it, but had no idea of the extent of the damage. As Prime Auto has a garage on the premises, they were certainly aware of what they were selling me. I did not contact Prime Auto as the only small warranty they would reluctantly give me was for the drivetrain for two weeks' time. I'm certain they were aware of the extent of the damage to the car. If you would like any evidence of this purchase pls feel free to contact me. You should assume that any vehicle for sale at Prime Auto has serious or major issues. When I first posted this review Gabe, one of the owners, quickly contacted me and wanted to talk. I explained to him that I wanted to keep the vehicle but simply wanted help with these repairs, I even offered to bring it from Connecticut to NJ for his mechanic. In the end Prime Auto declined and here I am with this review. I work as a journalist and try to tell the truth, we are all living in difficult times and I know having a business is hard, but there is no excuse for ripping off a customer. Thank you, Spencer read more

I purchased a 2008 VW GTI from Adam, who seemed very nice, and I was assured that the car had been tuned up and thoroughly inspected. IT WAS NOT. I have already had to spend $2,300 on repairs and the car has left my wife stranded twice. I made the 3 hour trip to Prime Auto 3 separate times to have them fix things that were supposed to be covered by the 30-day powertrain warranty, but they never fixed all of the problems that they said they would. When I confronted Ron, the owner, about this and gave him a chance to make it right, he said that it wasn't his fault and that he could only refund me $250. After that he started dodging my calls, wouldn't respond to emails, and never sent the check he promised. These are the things that I have had to replace on the vehicle: Engine Mounts Transmission Mount Timing Belt Headlights (They didn't even bother to see if the headlights were working before they sold the car) Battery (Died within a week of owning the car) Starter Coils (I was told that they had been changed, they weren't) Spark plugs Air filters read more

Purchased a car in January. We had it looked at by a mechanic who told us to make sure they took care of CEL. Light was gone when we picked it up. Check engine light came on after 24 hrs after we got it home. Car needed to be inspected but would not pass. They did try to fix it, but after a month finally sent it to a dealer who found about $4000 dollars worth of work needed. Ron gave us the price of the car back, but kept $770 in tax and document fees.....which is bs. They also didn't seem to find it necessary to return calls asking about repair updates read more

Stay away from this dealership! I called, emailed and txt with the owner Ron. We agreed on a price and set a date to pick up the car. I went and saw a car I liked and bought it. When I was leaving there was a noise coming from the engine. I was told because the car wasn't driven in awhile so drive it and it will go away. I drove for a week and noise is still there and turns out the car had engine issues. I called and they sent me to their recommended mechanic. The mechanic fixed it and then I get a phone call that although it is under warrant I have to split the bill with them or return the car. I was being considerate and I did. This was almost two weeks now and I was told that dmv will mail the title to me, which was a lie. They knew the car had issue and they didn't want me to register the car because if I didn't split the bill, they could have taken it back because I couldn't register it. A week after the engine issues, it turn out the wheel bearings were bad so I let them know. They said sorry that's not covered under the warranty. I said I split the bill with you on the engine so you can help me out now. They refuse and I had to pay 100%. Please go somewhere else as they knew they sold a lemon and lied about the title. read more

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM. I purchased a car from them a few months back and before buying it had some serious questions about the engine, etc. Adam assured me it was no problem and that his mechanic would take a look and fix the things that were wrong. It turns out, the mechanic did not fix anything and I have spent over $2500 of my own money on things that his mechanic supposedly fixed while the car was within the warranty period. Ron, the owner, is extremely shady. I contacted him about making the situation right after realizing I had been lied to by Adam (who in turn blamed it on the mechanic). Ron was initially friendly and promised to make it right. Then he stopped answering any calls and emails and I have yet to see the (very small amount of) money he promised to try to right the situation. I'm disgusted by them and would caution anyone from even stopping by and looking at their cars. read more
