Beware of this dealership and their scams/ shady business practices. Was sold a car and never provided a title; I was given paperwork, temp tags, and when they were expired, went to the dealership and told that the business was sold/ closed. It is very much reading as open online/google. According to the police and MVC no paperwork was put in the system and the bank (making payments to) has no title as well; they are actively pursuing the title as well. I've been calling/ outreaching relentlessly to no response; total ghost behavior and no communication. Edit- have not even had the car 3 weeks and the check engine light is on and the radio doesn't work. Dealer unresponsive. Dealer also refuses to correct incorrect paperwork filed with the dmv. horrible experience. first Omar is rude. Him the manager and finance guy were talking crap about me in the finance office while I was on the other side of the door. It probably should have been a good indication to leave then. I was talking with omar and did a pre approval for a car at one price. came in did the financing and suddenly the price increased by 3k that day without notice. They don't have window stickers on their cars so they can change the price on you after advertising at a lower price to get you in to look at their cars. on top of that there's tons of dealer fees. paid for a detail and the car was still dirty. paid for an inspection didn't get the report and the tires were very worn and no oil change was done. I was told I would get a call the next day to discuss the tires and any other issues. I didn't get a call. after a few days I left a bad google review to which I then finally received a call saying I could get tires Monday. Today is Monday I drove an hour there and they said they would only give the tires if I deleted my negative review. On my way there the oil light came on and the car I've had for less than a week had no oil. Horrible business. Be very careful shopping here. Took the car to be inspected and have the oil changed by an Alfa dealer after having several lights come on and not receiving the inspection report from the dealer which I paid for in those excessive fees. they informed me that the oil was dark with an after market filter and had not been changed recently and the oil was low. They informed me that Two of the tires are a safety hazard and in their critical zone and all four need to be replaced. It's unfortunate that the dealership only cares about the safety of their customers who leave them good reviews. Finance is also refusing to correct the paperwork they messed up on. They are threatening legal action against me for my honest review and won't correct their mistakes and lies. Due to the dealership changing my birthday from what is listed on my drivers license I am unable to access my loan account online and when I've emailed and called the dealer to correct the bill of sale and other info they have ignored my request and also disconnected the phone call. The only key fob that was provided to me was missing the internal metal key and the dealership informed me that I need to have a second one made soon because if the fob breaks or dies I cannot use the car without the metal key. Sometimes this happens when buying a used vehicle as well as the other damage to the vehicle. That's understandable and reasonable with a used car. Danny assured me that they would set me up with someone to come to my house and make me a second key at a discounted rate and he failed to provide that information to me so now I have to pay dealer prices for a key because they lied about that as well. read more

BEWARE: I recently purchased a ford transit van from this business. I do not have any problems with the van itself, I did purchase the extended warranty that was about $2,300 additional to the sale price of the vehicle. I recently received a letter from the warranty company stating that the warranty was never purchased from City Motor Group and that they are unable to offer coverage at this time. Upon receiving this letter, I called and found out they have closed their Haskell location and the new owners are getting tons of calls about this same issue and cannot do anything. I emailed the proof to the establishment after I was prompted to do so by their manager, Josh, only to be told not to call back because I was extorting them for money and threatening them which there is no indication of that in the email or texts. This is dealership that is very nice and friendly at first but are not friendly with their prices or negotiation. Let's get into it. Cars are crammed but manageable to look at. Omar was very helpful with details on the vehicle I was interested in making a deal (he is the only reason this review has 2 stars). Here's where things get sour. I receive the otd price and it's written in pen on a blank piece of paper (very unprofessional). On this pen written piece of paper were scribbled numbers and fees that were irrelevant to the transaction of the vehicle. I've never seen a used car ever have $7,000 worth of fees, you don't even see that on new cars. After 10 minutes of back and forth I meet Jhon and eventually we get the car $1,800 away from the price I'm willing to pay. Jhon refuses the deal and I walk out. Imagine losing a car deal over $1,800 lol. This place strives on customers that are uneducated about car buying and wants to squeeze everything out of you. They rather lose money having a car sitting in their lot for 100+ day than having a satisfied customer. Save your time and money and look elsewhere. read more

I've bought a lot of cars in my lifetime, always from small owned dealerships, and I can honestly say this was the absolute worst experience I've ever had. I test drove a car and when I brought up some concerns about the car having lots of chipped paint, which we weren't told about prior, I was basically yelled at by Ziad. Despite this I went back the next day, since they're located pretty close to my job, to get more information about the car. The price they gave me was $2,000 more than what it was listed for because they wanted to FORCE me to buy their warranty. I told them don't want or need that since I have insurance and AAA and was told "Maybe this isn't the car for you then." I told Ziad that I hadn't really been sold on the starting price itself, because while yes it was comparably lower to other ones (that is before this hidden cost they sprung on me on course), other cars in the area that are the same make, model, and year are being sold for only a thousand or so more but with half the mileage. The response was "Then go buy that car." I was also told that everywhere I go will have the same policy of needing to buy an expensive warranty, which I know is absolutely untrue. Between the HUGE hidden fee and the absolute refusal to even consider lowering the cost or sweetening the deal (not even an offer to throw in a free air freshener) coupled with the utter rudeness of speaking over me the entire time and pretty much kicking me out for the mere mention of working with me on this extra cost - I wish I could give this place negative stars. If they hadn't been so rude and unhelpful I might have bought the car at the original price, in cash, so the only silver lining is that they shocked me to my senses. There are newer versions of the same exact car with way less mileage on them available within driving distance that I now plan to buy- and yes I have called and checked about hidden fees and none of them have warranties that you are forced to buy. read more

Avoid this dealer if you have bad credit. I was looking to buy here pay here a Volkswagen they had listed for alittle over $10k. Even with $2500 down, the payment would still be $525 for 60 months. Alittle simple math tells me $525x60 is $31,500. I am from pa so I asked them to email me the financing papers showing me my term and payments along with interest, and they claim they don't talk numbers anywhere except in person. I refuse to drive 3-3.5 hours just to not buy a car. It's a shame people with bad credit get taken advantage of the most by these kinds of dealers. read more

Ahmed told me the car would be inspected and I would receive the sticker, when I didn't receive a sticker, he replied they don't do inspection - flag 1. While driving the car recently, I blew a tire and went to put on a spare and there was none - flag 2. I took the car to a repair shop and they asked me, how bad was the damage to this car and where did I have the terrible body work done. I was confused because City Motor group said their was no accident yet clearly you can see it all - flag 3. To top it off, I needed all new brakes, a new taillight and new tires. After $2,000 in work, and finding out the car was basically wrecked, I'm annoyed and out thousands. I have since reached out with no reply. Tl:dr - expect $2200 in additional hidden fees. Let's take a moment to critically think about why hundreds of car dealers exist like this one. Their main revenue source comes from kickbacks from predatory lenders. You go in, provide a down payment, sign some lending forms, you're on your way with a shiny new car (remember the 2008 financial crisis? same concept). They win whether or not you are able to pay your future payments. Now on to further fees - a $600 documentation fee is standard in the industry. What is not standard is a MADE UP $1500 fee =] Don't let these guys fool you. If possible, I would give 0 stars, but watching as these mental giants squirm when they try to explain the justification for the additional fee is worth the 1 star. read more

I purchased a Mitsubishi Lancer from city motor group and it was my first experience purchasing a vehicle. Let me start off with saying they was trying to swindle me for more than everything was supposed to come out to. Next my first major problem after getting the vehicle was the paper work had a lien holder even though I purchased the whole car out. After that I waited for the correct paper to be sent to me and all the information that come with the registration. The next problem was my car shutting off while i was driving it. They explained to me to pay out of pocket for a new battery and then sent me the check 2 months later after I continued to ask them about it. Finally i went to get the car inspected and i found out my car had no catalytic converter, when i called CMG to ask about it they told me they sold that part of the vehicle but when i asked them when i first got the car they explained to me that everything was up to date and brand new. I then asked them about the sound of the car and they explained that the reason of the sound was the filter in the front of the car was took out. i only found out about my missing catalytic converter 4-5 months later after they sent me everything i needed for the car, which included was the sales tax that they told me was getting charged to my total but was never there. BUYER BEWARE!!!! I bought a BMW X5 550xi in October 2019. As soon as I drove the car off of the lot there was a warning to add oil, there was no gas, and there were even 3K miles more than was advertised. So I called them and they said that I might have to add oil and that these cars use more oil. So I kept adding oil and then a warning light came on that my engine has become dangerously hot and not to drive it anymore. So I had it towed to a garage and they had to replace the water pump, auxiliary pump, thermometer, and hoses. Also, the car had been emitting white smoke. So I asked them about that and they said not to worry. So I did some research and come to find out that these cars have serious engine problems and that BMW knew about it and that there was a class action suit against BMW. So the dealership clearly knew about this yet failed to tell me about it and they made no attempt to fix it. So they basically kept telling me not to worry about these problems and that it was normal for BMW's to burn and leak oil like this. I was also told by the person that picked me up at the airport that works for the dealership that they sell many cars to Africa and that they also have an office in Africa. He preceded to tell me that they continuously sell cars there without performing any mechanical fixes and that, in his words.."They don't know anything about buying cars." So it's obvious that you should not buy a car from this dealership. If a dealership does not even take the care to add ONE DOLLAR'S worth of gas to drive home than they clearly don't care about diagnosing any problems before selling the car. The NJ State Attorney General is looking into the problem and I should have an answer soon and will keep everyone updated. The only positive experience was that the salesperson Alexandra was very helpful. The owner and manager never responded to any of my inquiries. read more

I haven't had time to write this review but I had a few bad experiences with this place. I bought a 2011 Kia Sorrento in December after coming home from a music tour. After moving before my tour and not having a lot of time to get a car to bring my kids to school, I wanted a safe vehicle that had a third row. It was snowing that day so I couldn't really put it to a rugged test. It seemed ok going 25-30 miles an hour but I heard a little grinding and when I returned to the dealer, I asked the manager about the brakes. I thought I heard a grinding sound but it also makes that sound if the car wasn't used in a while and maybe there was a little rust. I didn't think I would get brakes that were 100% but I thought I would get 50- 75%. The manager told me that she wasn't sure if there were new brakes but that the brakes were inspected. So I took the car. I wanted to come on yelp to tell everyone about my good experience but then the fun began. In less than 2 weeks the engine light went on. It was a few days before Christmas so we agreed to bring it in after once I called them. They also said that my plates were in so I figured I pick them up while they were looking at the engine light. I also wanted to have them check the brakes again. This was all under the 30 day lemon period. The maintenance guy said the light went on but there were no problems. It just needed to get turned off. When he brought the car back, he said that your brakes are not right. I said to him that I thought you guys told me point blank that they were inspected. He said to talk to the manager but he didn't think they would do anything and he was right. To make a long story shorter, I brought it to my mechanic and he said that the brakes were terrible and the was now way they were inspected because there were no pads and rotor damage. After to paying close to $900, he also told me the emergency brake was messed up but only Kia would be able to fix it and it would probably cost another $800-$900. When I sent them proof of the damage, they didn't even contact me. It took forever to get my plates after them mailing it to the wrong address so they assured me I'd get it soon and that was all they talked about. Another salesman told me that he would have made sure my brakes were good but that does help if the manager and owner don't try to help. My mechanic said that I was lucky no one was hurt and I drove around with 2 young children. I would never get another car from there. They didn't stand behind their product and I wanted to give them a good review at first but they didn't care about my safety. I hope they see this and decide to pay for the brakes and stand behind their car. read more
