I woke up and was hankering for good pancakes, one thing Denny's does pretty well. I got there and it was busy but what do you expect from a popular chain restaurant. I didn't wait long since I was dining for one. I ordered the lumberjack special consisting of two buttermilk pancakes, four strips of bacon since I didn't want the sausage and one piece of ham plus hash browns, toast and three eggs. Now let's start with the positive, the toast wasn't burnt and the hash browns were actually good. Unfortunately that's where it ended. The bacon was rubbery, the tool it was cooked in was undoubtedly the microwave. The eggs were tiny and the ham was so sweet I think it was doused in high fructose corn syrup. Okay I forgot, I did come here for the pancakes and while they were decent, I wasn't overly impressed with those either. All in all, a very disappointing experience and for that, I doubt I'll return. read more

Service: Friendly, if you get the right waitress. There is 1 friendly man and 1 friendly woman. Usually, the restaurant will be slow and empty but the food will still come out slow. Usually, I go late at night so we aren't in a huge rush, but come on, I still came to eat. Decor: Same as any other chain Denny's. Food: Same as any other Denny's. Although, on my last visit, my food didn't come out. I just nibbled off our shared plates and when we ask our waitress how come the food wasn't coming out she replied "you should have told me, it has been sitting in the kitchen". Well, it's not my job to get my own food, it isn't a buffet. The waitress was also giving my friend a hard time about adding too many side dishes to his order. Come on, we dropped $120 at Denny's and they still couldn't give him a break. Review: My last visit left a bitter taste in my mouth (pun intended). I can't say that I won't go back, but I definitely won't be enjoying my stay. Went here for breakfast. Server's English was bad/heavily accented and he spoke really fast. My order was brought out pretty quickly, could have used a few more minutes on the grill/skillet/pan/whatever. Pretty good though. I'll go back when I don't want to cook for myself. read more

Had an excellent breakfast at this Denny's. I had the All American Slam with Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Hash browns and Toast. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly, the sausages were a little small but were very good. As a family we used to always celebrate special occasions here but after tonight Denny's has lost many customers for life. Never have I ever been treated as terribly as we were treated tonight by our waiter Anthony. He intimidated us, escalated arguments, and told us to leave all because we asked to see a full menu. His behaviour was so terrible that even when we tried to speak to both supervisors, he continued to yell over us and intimidate us to the point that we felt so uncomfortable the offer of "free food" wasn't even worth it. Save yourself the headache because it didn't appear that this individual would be dealt with appropriately. Better off going somewhere else or even staying home because our night and special occasion was ruined. Thanks Denny's. read more

Disappointed with changes from new management. Bacon paper thin no taste. In fact it may be microwave bacon. Pancakes are not the same and definitely not buttermilk. My husband and I love the food here, I especially, am in love with the pancakes. We eat here often. My only critique is the bathroom.. the outside bottoms of the toilet bowls need to be cleaned. These bathrooms, were just redone and looked so good after. BUT if they do not keep 'em clean, they will get in the same "kind of just about terrible" way, they were before they were redone. read more

Denny's 24/7 service is super convenient and the night staff always make the late night trips worthwhile. The service is always quick and the server is always pleasant and personable. The food is also very well prepared, couldn't ask for a better place to pop into when you're hungry. read more

I came with a party of four. We all bought substantial entrees. My order was the chicken philly melt with a side order of (1) chocolate chip pancake. Our server kaylee was great and took our orders without any issue. She was patient and kind and made everything a breeze. We got our food about 15 minutes later. I started with my pancake, and I would like so say it was not appetizing at all. The batter was definitely undercooked, the ratio of chocolate chips to pancake was horrible and overall it was not a pleasant thing to eat. I wasn't able to finish it, and I actually let the rest of my party try a piece to ensure it was not just me. They all agreed. I spoke with my server and she was very helpful stating she will grab a manager for me, as there was nothing she could have done. I spoke with a manager on floor and she stated "it's almost finished, so there isn't much I can do. I may be able to give you a very small discount". I said okay and she grabbed my plate and brought it away with her. She came back and told me "actually I can't do anything because my manager said that's how the pancake is made, and I cannot give you an additional discount". Again I would like to express how satisfied I am with my server Kaylee as she went above and Beyond to make sure that my party was happy, but her superiors need to take some pointers from her as they completely ruined my experience. With over 20 years of customers service I believe that the way the managers handled this was horrible. It seems ridiculous that Denny's would train their managers to value ruining a loyal customer's experience over an item that was $3.90. At this point it is simply about the principle that I did not feel that my concerns were taken seriously and I was disrespected when there was a simple fix available that would have remedied by concerns. read more

The food was awesome as usual. My wife and her two coworkers visited this Denny's in Whitby on Friday March 6. The co-workers were new to Denny's and were very excited about the menu and wanted to try everything. There enthusiasm and enjoyment was soon destroyed by their male waiter from the bowels of hell. He slammed down every plate and dish ordered, walked away and completely ignored us in mid sentence trying to add additional items to the order. The food order was wrong but they were afraid to return the orders. This was the meanest waiter ever. This waiter even yelled at them to leave the tip on the table instead of in his hand. read more

The avocado chicken was what I had ordered here late night. The good thing about the place is the quick service. The bad thing is that the salad had too much dressing that it was drowning in it. I guess that can be a subjective opinion but I guess it ruined it for me. I asked the server (Bella) if they still had the turkey dipper that was displayed on the window coming in. She promptly said no. Went there today for brunch and was disappointed to say the least. I had the lumberjack slam and my wife the American slam and was not even close to the quality I remember having compared to other dennys in the past. My over easy eggs were okay but the pancakes were not very good at all. I don't know what they did the breakfast sausages but I had one bite and that was it. They were soggy and tasteless. Perhaps they nuked them before serving? The worst part was how much they charge for a cup of coffee. $2.89 ea. We both had coffee so that's almost $6 just for coffee! Half the price of my meal. The coffee was good but c'mon this isn't some cafe with a 3 thousand dollar machine pumping out the brew. The hash browns took up half the plate and no amount of salt or ketchup was going to save those poor potatoes. $33 and change later we left with no intention on coming back. There are plenty of mom and pop restaurants in town that do it way better for less so my business will be going there. read more
