It started with a disgusting bathroom with overflowing garbages and a drug pipe in the stall with the baby table. Staff sent in the kitchen staff to clean it and said it's not their fault cause it's a "public bathroom". The food: well the pancakes were over cooked with rotten bananas. The eggs, sunny side up were so overcooked they were chewy. The shedded hash browns were undercooked with unmelted cheese. They re-cooked what I complained about but my family was done eating by that time. The "Manager" also the "host" took no accountability and didn't offer any discount until I refused to pay for what was improperly cooked. He was quite rude actually. I will never go back. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME. Would not suggest and would give 0 stars if possible. read more

Had a hankering for the Superbird Sanny and decided to stop by for one after work... I wish I never did. Hands down the worst sandwich I've ever paid money for. Maybe I'm a sucker for Denny's hamburgers who knows but when it was decided that we were going to Denny's that night I was happy, last time we went was in Vernon middle of 2021 and really loved the bacon/avocado/cheeseburger so I opted for the same with seasoned fries, I wasn't disappointed, it's really the only chance for me to have a burger and so far I'm still in love with it, service was great and I hope the'll continue their good work read more

I got the new Canadian double burger, it was exactly what I wanted and I couldnt even finish, delicious and filling :) My fiance had the build your own veggie burger and although the hashbrowns were too crunchy, they were very kind and remade the entire meal at no extra charge. The only 24 hour restaurant in Victoria, other than Mcie'Ds; but you kinda wish you chosen Mcie'Ds afterwards... server we got was like trying to hard to be nice but could tell was born a douche. We asked for no meat (Vegetarian) with our food, and server came back a minute later and asked if we would like extra cheese since we got no meat. We got the bill and were charged for extra cheese?! Ok, Fine that there is no discount for taking meat out, but to charge extra when given impression it was a substitute was surprising. We told the server at cash register that we thought extra cheese was because we got no meats. He grudgingly took the charge off the bill and said "Just so you know in the future extra cheese has a charge and expect to pay it..." the attitude was off-putting at end of an ok service, made us remember why you get the Denny's regrets. read more

Experienced better Denny's in my day. Had a Chicken Ranch Melt (my favorite). The bread on my melt was very very pale looking. Wasn't a nice golden-y brown I'm used to! But whatevs, it was alright. Had a side salad on the side (hehe) and it was yum. Just a regular salad, nothing special. One cool thing is that Canadian Denny's have a cute little maple leaf for their apostrophe! Whoo. read more

We had the Turkey Dinner and it was fantastic ! Turkey was nice and moist, the corn was nice and sweet and the stuffing had great flavour and substance. Finished by the perfect amount of gravy. The server Brando was fantastic also. Great personality and efficient tentative service. The best part? This turkey dinner is served 365 days a year! I will be back soon!!! read more

If we could give this location a ZERO Stars I would. My mother, father and cousin went to this location yesterday and I am HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED in the management of this facility. My parents ordered their meals and in the bathroom my father was cursed out by another customer calling him names such as an fu**** Ni***. It doesnt matter what color your skin is, or what your background is. No one should be cursed out. A waiter butted into the conversation and told.my father to calm.down and lower his voice. WHERE WAS MANAGEMENT??? The waiter should have calmed the down and asked the other customer who basically was super racist to leave the restaurant. read more

Wife and I went to this Denny's one Saturday morning to see how the new renovations turned out. I was surprised that even though there was a long line we only had to wait maybe 10 minutes to get in. Here ends the postives about the experience. Literally after we sat down the hostess asked for a beverage order and our menu order. We hadn't even had a chance to open the menu let alone decide upon something. Pushy to say the least. We asked for a few more minutes. Eventually she came back and we made our order: I had a make your own grand slam with pancakes, toast, hasbrowns and scrambled eggs. My wife ordered the basic benny. We then waited. And waited. And waited some more. It was about 25 minutes later that we finally flagged the waitress down and asked how much longer. She came back and said "anytime now". By the time our food came we had been waiting just over a half hour. To be fair the place was busy, but 30 minutes for some eggs & pancakes is inexcusable. The server was also rather rude when bringing the food. No apology for the wait, no asking if I'd like my coffee topped up, not even a "enjoy your meal". And then: the food itself was cold. My hashbrowns were actually undercooked, the pancakes ice cold, the eggs lukewarm. When the server brought us our bill, she actually gave us the wrong bill. We had to wait a few more minutes while another server we flagged down went and got ours. While the meal was cheap (~$25) compared to most restaurants, it simply was not worth the money at all. Most other restaurants I've been to in Victoria have been maybe $5 more and had absolutely amazing food. Horrible service, terrible food, poor value, and an all-around terrible experience. The great thing about chain restaurants is that you always know what you're going to get. I went to my first Denny's many years ago in Niagara Falls, and fell in love with the low prices, abundant amounts of food, decent service, and coffee. Remember that last item: we'll be coming back to it. The Denny's restaurant under review faithfully continues to provide low priced, high quantity food, and generally has a very good service staff. It's kept reasonably clean, though I admit to having never entered their restroom to inspect it. Unfortunately the kitchen tends to be loud, and it often drowns out 'private' or 'quiet' conversations - if you're within 20ft of the kitchen, you'll probably need to talk loud enough that your surrounding diners will easily be able to overhear. Don't go to Denny's to talk about anything you wouldn't want your neighbours to know about... Let's turn to the food. When I was there over the weekend, my brother got their new 'cheesy fries' as an appetizer. Let's just say that they'll never be ordered again: the 'cheese' combination is poor, and I got a very real feeling that we were served a 'cheese-like' food product on top of the (otherwise excellent) seasoned fries. Turning to the entres, I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich (with seasoned fries), and my brother the chocolate pancakes. The sandwich was good, though I was disappointed that the bun overhung the chicken on both ends and that, while there were tomatoes they weren't exactly piled onto the sandwich as I'd requested. I'd be somewhat fearful to see how few are on a 'non-piled' sandwich. The spicy fries were quite tasty, and were in abundant quantity. My brother's pancakes were acceptable. He liked them quite a bit, but when I tasted them they had a weird flavour to them. I'm not sure *what* that flavour was, and it wasn't gross or anything, but it tasted...weird. Real maple syrup isn't served - it's more like Aunt Jemima's. Now, I said I'd get back to the coffee. This was the worst - nay, intolerable - part of the meal. It was terrible, containing some sort of chemical undertone. I can honestly say that it was amongst the worst coffee I have ever had in my life, and I asked for two separate replacements in the hopes that it was a cup or something else. No. it was the coffee. I would heartily suggest that you NEVER order their coffee, unless you're (a) looking to alienate a date that's with you; (b) you hate yourself. On the whole, Denny's has good 'upscale' dive-food at reasonable prices and abundant quantities. I'll be back, though I'll order the water instead of coffee. read more

Husband got the wrong order but it was still good - didn't say anything to server about mix up. Overall the food was really good. Julie was the only server it seemed at the time. She was running but the service wasn't very good. The manager finally stepped up and helped but we were about done. We had to flag him down to get the one and only coffee refill per our visit. read more

My order was not entirely eatable as my toasts were burned black. Later another order of toast came back under cook ''More white then golden''. In the other hand, my wife enjoyed her milkshake as it is generally very big and generous. The waitress service is very good. Did not wait too long. Being the tiny eater that I am, one set is huge (even the breakfasts) for me. Last time my mum and I ordered 2 sets, we could have just ordered one and still have not finish it all!!! But that might just be that we don't eat very much. Back to the serious part, this is a real deal for those who eat lots and love good genuine taste, pricing is affordable (compared to higher end dining obviously) Definitely suitable for kids. Come here for breakfast! The servers are very nice and the food has never taken longer 15 minutes, usually within 10! Food is always hot and properly done. My partner and i can have breakfast for 30 bucks with coffee with awesome service. My only complaint about breakfast time is theres usually the same teenage hostess every time i come in and she seems pretty miserable about having this job, smile a bit and make us feel welcomed please! read more

The multiple times I've been to this Denny's location, each have been a sub-par experience. Most recently however, I noted that management had neglected to help the overworked servers with there many tables and choose to sit idly by at the front of the restaurant greeting guests than helping servers take and run orders. Being a manager at a high paced restaurant recognize the poor management this Denny's location has in aiding the servers in a bury night shift. It is known that the servers do the best of their capabilities but service only goes so far when they don't have the support of management on shift. read more

Service was horrible. Had to witness an altercation between customers when the serve staff threatened to tow someone's vehicle and then they sat a new couple in their booth. Ordered eggs benny's...the hollandaise sauce looked like it had been sitting out for a whole day. Had a crust on it!!! The hashbrowns were completely soggy and cold. Rude staff had to send my meal back twice because of it tasting like burnt oil and smelling nothing but oil all my friends smell it and tasted it and agreed it was bad. The staff dont care about there job. They were slow took almost three hours to eat and leave. Bad spot for sure. read more

Luckily for me (or unlucky), I used the bathroom after I ate. It smells like urine, the stall walls are splattered with blood, and it looks like the place hasn't been cleaned in days. The floors throughout the entire restaurant are sticky, they ran out of napkins. Food was ok. read more

It's a Denny's....they're all two to three stars for me. Service was a bit slow at this one even though it wasn't very full. I wouldn't eat at this one again if I had other options. As a Veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, my wife and I enjoyed a wonderful Remembrance Day today and thought we would end it off at about 10:30 PM with a bite to eat and Denny's on Douglas Street in Victoria. Much to our dismay, because we weren't good looking young men with freshly inked tattoos, our waitress apparently forgot we existed while she served the table next to us (occupied with good looking young men with freshly inked tattoos). When we brought this to the attention of the manager, it was explained to us that because we were playing cards, apparently we didn't expect any service. Really???
