This place is a gem! What a great local place for chowder or fish & chips. In the past I was impressed with their chowder, and although it was a tough decision, this time I tried their French Dip. I was not disappointed! A cool option I did not try, was a "Fisherman's Lunch"- a brown bag take-away option for those on the go. The server was great, and was able to manage a variety of clientele in a professional manner. One of the greatest things is the beautiful view out the front window. We decided to take a random trip to Sekiu on the off season and didn't expect much to be open. The co-op lady told us that the owners of this restaurant had suffered a terrible car crash and only opened 2 days out of the week and we were lucky enough to be there right before they closed. The cook and the lady who was there with him were very kind. We got a burger with an extra patty. My husband really liked it. I tasted it and something was off for me, but he liked it so that's what matters. The size was huge too, so good portions. I got the BLT, which was packed and also sizeable. Good fries, too. Ambiance was obviously dead but I can imagine how this little diner lights up during the right season. read more

Quaint little divey cafe with a view of the bay and friendly staff. We ate here multiple times as it is located next door to where we were staying. All the food appeared to be made from scratch and served hot. The cheeseburgers were a solid 4/5. Fries are had the skin on them and a bit greasy. The Fish and chips were good. 4/5 Crispy coating with a yummy seasoning. Breakfasts were classics 4/5. The shakes were the best. The strawberry shakes were made with fresh local strawberries. There is only one server and a cook and wait times can be very long when they have a rush. read more

What a sweet and memorable dining experience! We loved the friendly service and charming small-town vibes. An older lady took our order, cooked our meal, and even had a great conversation with us. Watching bald eagles fly over the bay as we dined was a nice highlight. Anything with bacon here is exceptional--perfectly crisp and thickly cut. My wife and I split the club sandwich, a large three bread sandwich with bacon on top. Our kids enjoyed the fish and chips and the western burger. The good: great views, super friendly service. Patty Melt was delicious. We finished with milkshakes to go, and that was a fun little bonus. The bad: My fish and chips were horrible, the fish literally inedible. Should have been a clue that a fishing town has Alaskan cod instead of its own local fish. They were really busy when we stopped in but the service was friendly and pleasant. We got seated and order a French dip, bacon cheeseburger and the Captains seafood platter, which was huge. They close at 8pm so make sure you get there early enough to order. The place isn't huge but they servers kept things moving. The ambiance was nice as you can look outside of the windows and see the bay (hence the name). After dinner we took a walk around the bay and it was a beautiful way to end the night. Definitely recommend a stop here if you are in the area. read more

We stopped here after leaving La Push. It's a cute location on the water near the fishing docks. We sat near a window and were brought water promptly. We ordered a salad and burger then waited around 30 minutes for our food with only one other table in the restaurant. The salad was fresh and tillamook cheese was tasty. The chicken was crispy. All in all no complaints about it. The burger was juicy and fries were crispy. The bacon on the burger was the best part of the meal. A fine place to stop when passing through. I've been coming regularly for a few years after co-workers said it's the must have in Sekui area. Totally agreed great meal at a fair price. Sadly this year that's changed. Prices shot way up, into top tier fancy restaurant range $18 - $20+ burger. The bacon on my burger was about 1/2 cooked. I love me some bacon in any most any form, but this stood out as obviously unfinished. and to our dismay, the fries have been changed from always amazing to... super thick handcut fries that weren't cooked through. This is a deal breaker for us, the new fries are worse than steak fries. Hate to say it, but after exclusively eating here when in the west end, I'll be now trying the other places around the area to find the next best option. What a surprise! We'd been to Cape Flattery and we were ...hangry. We couldn't really find anywhere to eat on the Makah land, so we (hangrily) drove down to Sekiu to find something to eat. By the Bay Cafe was fantastic!!! Sweet people. Locals, except for us. Sweet view of the little marina and the water. The clam chowder was *to die for*. Yum yum yummmmmm. My son got the burger (cowboy burger?) and it was fantastic. If you venture out to Cape Flattery, this is where you want to eat. No question. read more

The service is impeccable, Diana was super friendly and helpful and provided the secret ingredient to their spoon licking delicious clam chowder. The town itself is also a great place to hang out and observe the sea lions and the white bald eagles that hover around waiting for the seamen to clean their catch. read more

Enjoyed a yummy breakfast to start our day of adventuring. The hash-browns with peppers and onions were delicious and the eggs were perfectly cooked to over medium. Staffing was low and they were super busy but still took time to provide excellent customer service. It was packed so my adult children sat at the bar while my husband and I enjoyed an outdoor table overlooking the bay. Stopped by this place for dinner before getting the Makah recreation pass for a visit to Neah Bay. This was one of the few options that open "late" aka closes at 8pm, and it was decent food. It is mostly an American diner with burgers, sandwiches, and fried food. We got a Western Bacon Cheeseburger, which was a glorified Carls Jr burger in the sense the patty is quite juicy though the pickles and tomatoes kind of made this burger not that great. We also got the fish and chips and scallops which were deep fried scallops. Fish and chips were solid, especially with the onion rings, while the scallops have way too much batter with a very tiny, although juicy, piece of scallop inside. Service is decent and is typical of an American restaurant. read more

we stopped here post cape flattery. it definitely seemed busy for a sunday evening. we both ordered the fish and chips. it took about 45 minutes for us to to get our food. i'm not too mad about it because they only had one waitress and one guy in the back cooking for the whole restaurant. it did sour my experience a bit, but i understand. the fish and chips themselves were actually amazing. the fish was flaky and crispy and had really excellent flavor. the fries were okay, not super crispy, but fresh. i feel like you could tell the tartar sauce was made in-house, it was very tasty. we also split a dinner salad, which was average. i recommend this place, but know you might wait a while. read more

Waitress was fantastic. I wanted to know the best seafood meal they had. She said the fish was frozen not fresh, but the clams were large and amazing. She advised the burgers were amazing so I got a Hawaiian burger med rare. It was juicy, the bun was fresh and soft. A perfect burger. I had onion rings and an ice tea Then the waitress offer a fresh homemade pie, I chose a wild blackberry warmed with a scoop of ice cream. The pièce de résistance.
