Loved this little stop, and have made a point to come here when hiking in the Olympics. Atmosphere is as the name suggests, feels just like eating at Grandmas. Patty Melt and grilled cheese were a comfort food savior on a soaking wet hiking day.

What a cute little place. Coming from lake crescent we decided to stop and get a burger. It's was so juicy and the bread was toasted just right. The fries... OMGoodness crispy! Will definitely go back

Blackberry Pie and strawberry milkshake

Best blackberry pie I've ever had in my entire life. And I am not being dramatic. I dream about this place. Not sure I will ever be back since I live in Boston but I will never forget where my favorite blackberry pie and ice cream is from.

We went here on our way from Hoh rain forest to the Olympic national park . Lot of people were there but parking was easy . The parking lot is not concrete surface though but it wasn't a big deal for us . The staff is super friendly and greet you with their big smiley faces. I saw lots of people were getting soft serve and the amount of ice cream in each cone was insane. We took fish and chips , house salads and chicken strips . All of them were super yummy and super fresh . Lots of dressing options available for salad as well . Another interesting thing I found was they have a small area in the back where they have some animals and birds like roosters, ostriches and goats and they encourage people to go and check the area out with kids . My kids got super excited looking at all the farm animals . Absolutely recommended

Granny's Cafe is a restaurant randomly located literally in the middle of nowhere, with no other businesses or buildings other than the inn that it's attached to, within eyesight. The interior is very homely, filled with knick knacks with fiddle music playing in the background. The restaurant interestingly is counter service, so it's pretty casual. The best part of the cafe are the animals in the backyard. Two friendly emus, two goats, and an entire flock of hens. There's also supposed to be a barn cat, but we weren't able to find it, probably due to the fact that it was raining. Garlic Parm Fries ($9) - These seem like commercially purchased thicker fries, fried until steaming hot, with a crispy exterior and fluffy interior. They are drizzled with a thick dressing-like garlic sauce, rich with garlic flavor. The sauce is served cold, so it's a bit of a surprise when biting in at first. There's also cold parmesan shreds sprinkled on top. Unfortunately, the fries aren't warm enough to melt or even soften the cheese. Still, there's a good ratio of topping to fries, and it certainly tastes good. I just wish the garlic sauce was warmed up before being added. (4/5) Blackberry Pie ($8.5) - They had two choices for the their famous 6 inch pies - either apple or blackberry. We went with the blackberry, which is served room temperature, rather than warm. There's some nice crunchy granola bits baked into the top of the pie. The filling has a lot of whole blackberries, complete with seeds. It's sweet and not too watery, with great blackberry flavor and a pleasing level of tartness. The crust is the weakest part of the pie. It's not flaky or crisp, and instead of kind of like clay in texture, doughy, and drier than it should be. It doesn't feel fatty or buttery at all. Perhaps shortening is used as the fat base? It really reminds me of a premade frozen pie crust - functional, but not very high quality. (4/5) Granny's Cafe is definitely a fun place to visit, especially because of all the animals running around. It's just a nice stop before or after a hike in the Olympics. Bathrooms - Larger ones outside on the walkway towards the animals at the back.

Such a sweet lil stop through Olympic National Park and the surrounding area. Loved the decor, animals in the back and the wholesome vibes. The pie unfortunately left just a little bit to be desired for me and it felt like the heated it in the microwave as it got soggy- that being said its still yummy, and still comforting. To me none of the food we ordered was stand out but all totally decent but the space itself, the years of lore, the amazing relics from the past and the animals out back make it a place I'd come back again and again!

Stopped by Granny's cafe for a soft serve ice cream with 9 friends! This has to be the LARGEST large ice cone I've ever purchased!!! I loved every bite of it and was able to consume it all before it melted!!! Great price for a foot long ice cream cone! LOL

Quiche

We stopped twice when visiting Olympic. So good after hiking. We had a cup of chilli and split a quiche. Everything tasted homemade. The quiche had a puff pastry crust. So good. Food was great. We had to return for the Blackberry pie. It was excellent. A great size for two people to split. We got the pie ala mode, but it was soft-serve, and I would not get it again. The ambiance is small, homey diner. Every table has an individual salt and pepper shaker. Vintage kitchen items are scattered about. Goats out back. Both times we were there in the afternoon, and it was a steady stream of people. The service is super friendly. The food can take some time.

Apple pie & ice cream

A great place to treat yourself after a day on the trails or in the sun. The service is super fast, their ice cream is high quality soft serve that's creamy and rich, no icy bits. And the pie is amazing. I enjoyed the apple but my friend also like the blackberry. Love their little friends in the back as well.

The malt shakes were delicious!! We also got French fries and they were cooked perfectly! The cafe was incredibly cute and I wish I could take it back home to FL with me! Thanks Granny!

Cute cafe near lake Crescent. Stays open till 8, so this was a perfect spot for us to grab dinner before heading back to our VRBO. I had the tuna melt with clam chowder as my side. The tuna melt had a lot of onions in it. If you don't like onions, don't get this or see if they can make it without. The clam chowder was delicious and hit the spot. I had to get a side served vanilla ice cream for dessert. It tasted like heaven. While waiting for my food, I went to visit the resident emu, goats and chickens. They are in the back by the bathrooms. They are friendly. The restaurant dining area had fireplaces going, which made it nice and cozy since it was chilly outside. They have parking on site. The staff was great. Your order at the counter and they bring out your food. They do as you pick up after yourself.

Cute little spot for a quick lunch. Food was fresh and hot. Good selection for everyone to choose from. After watching multiple people come in for soft serve ice cream, we decided to get cones to go. Very good!

6 stars I love this place! Delicious sourdough BLT, phenomenal apple pie. My husband had black bean burgers each visit and he was also super impressed. I died and went to heaven with their onion rings. Goats, emus & cage free chickens roaming the back garden. Such a magical little find. Very understanding with dietary restrictions; service with a smile. Speedy and memorable in the very best way. Everything was fresh and it reminded me of why I love small business so much. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Everyone should be so lucky as to dine here.

Perfectly dense and chewy ice cream (my favorite!). I ordered a split scoop of vanilla bean and…read moresweet cream. Similar but still had their unique flavors. You are able to sample flavors. The people working were super chill and scooped up a large portion of ice cream! They also do milkshakes and fruit flavored "New Zealand style" soft serve. Definitely worth visiting for ice cream in Port Angeles!

NOT AN ALLERGY FRIENDLY BUSINESS. (Laziness prevails hard work and good business practices)…read more This review mainly concerns service, and workplace practices that bring up questionable cleanliness and workflow issues where customers are paying the price. I am from Australia and was excited to see New Zealand Style Ice cream in a small town we were visiting for our 10 year wedding anniversary. My wife has a blackberry allergy, and we were very disappointed and shocked with the company's response to dealing with allergies despite the following: On this company's website, and in store they state in multiple places "Allergy Info: Please note that all fruit ice cream flavors get blended in the same blender. If you are allergic to any specific berry please take caution and let us know so we can swap out parts." So we figured we would just have to awkwardly let them know about her allergy and they would accommodate by switching out whatever parts were needed to ensure no cross contamination etc. This was not the case, we were very surprised to discover when discussing flavor options etc that the person helping us said "we use the same scoops for every berry even in the morning when we set up so we can't guarantee that there won't be any blackberry in your ice cream, I would suggest getting no fruit if your allergy is serious." When we were told this we were instantly turned off as she said there is nothing they can do despite noting allergy and dairy free options on the website. They have a lot to work on, in a normal circumstance in most places I've ever been these business practices would put them out of business. What they need to do at a minimum is: ensure you are using one scoop for each type of berry, or don't offer to change equipment etc blatantly on your website and in store but act too lazy to do this in person. I am not knowledgeable in the safe food practices in Washington, but have enough common sense to know that cross contamination in the food service business is a big no. As to the dairy vs non dairy swirling of the berries. There should be one separate machine for non-dairy orders. When we were in there they were only utilizing one machine anyway and the other still had crusted ice cream on it from a customer who knows how long ago. My wife worked at a Jamba Juice while in school and said it doesn't make any sense how they do this because if someone had an allergy they would even take the order to the back to get fresh berries with a fresh scoop as cross contamination does occur in the front counter area when scooping up the fruit etc. It seems like they just don't want to bother doing the work for accommodating allergies, we would have been happy to wait if a machine needed to be cleaned and them go into the back to do the right thing with a clean scoop but none of this effort was offered throughout our visit. This is not an allergy friendly business. Once my wife was left with no options aside from a basic scoop of regular ice cream, I decided not to support this business and will travel to New Zealand when I go back to visit my family in Australia for the real deal without the unsafe, and lazy work flow.
