We loved having a pre-Derby lunch here! Visiting a friend who lives nearby, she plans to come back!…read more We shared the Duck Poppers which were small but yummy. A nice little treat. Then I ordered the soup and a side of grits, which were both delicious. My husband order the Beef cheek Po Boy - yummy! And my friend ordered the Cuban. The fries are tasty and everything tasted incredibly fresh and well prepared. Of course we saved room for dessert and shared the Banana Cream Pudding. It had a roasted marshmallow top and probably the beat Banana pudding I've had! For drinks, we got the Filly Lilly, A specialty Mint Julio with Thyme in it, and the winner was the Strawberry Rhubarb Buck. Wow! Not only was the food delicious, but the service was great and everyone was very friendly and helpful. We sat inside because it was a dreary first half of the day before the sun came out for the Derby! But, there were a lot of nice outdoor areas to sit and enjoy your food or beverages. You will find something you love at the Kitchen Table. I highly recommend!

I am not from KY, and I deliberately picked this place because it was local and not a chain. So worth it. The waitress was super friendly and treated me like I was a regular. Within 30 seconds I had a good cup of coffee. I ordered pancakes and sausage. With a shout of "order up!"breakfast was served. The pancakes filled the entire plate and were fluffy and hot. The sausage appeared to be locally made. Everything was reasonably priced and she asked me if I qualified for a military discount. So good.

We were a party of 4. Ordered 3 cheeseburgers and 1 fried bologna sandwich. Also, ordered their try 3 appetizer. Fried okra, fried pickles, and onion rings. Food was great. You could tell that your burger was homemade and not from frozen. Les, thank you for the laughs and good food! We're going to have to come back to try the meatloaf.

This place has a fun twist with their menu that I love, they feature a different homemade meal each night alongside their regular menu. On the particular day that we went there were more Waffle House employees than customers. This was due to the fact that corporate was in town and training employees. We pretty much got the best of the best in service, food and drama. It was fun watching the entire experience as we saddled up to the counter. The employees were ridiculously friendly and a blast. I ordered a bowl, which was delicious and the most expensive and biggest thing on the menu. I couldn't finish it all and my boyfriend had to step in. He knew he would need to step in, so he ordered something a little smaller. This review was a 5 because of the hustle and bustle of corporate being there and the experience as a whole. We have been a few times recently and our servers are always friendly and come enough times to our table. They are very nice to our kids and like many places they provide coloring pages and crayons to keep them entertained. There is a small section up front with merchandise like shirts and stuffed animals, some kitchen things and other misc items. The only issues I've had, and the reason for the four star, is that some of our food was not very hot, the bathrooms were a little messy each visit and the health rating on the door was a B. Also, one of the times we went they were out of turkey and green beans. Which was disappointing. Not a flawless experience, but good comfort food and kids each free on Tuesdays! So def a recommendation from me.
