Country breakfast!!! Don't skip the sausage!!
    Shekila S.

You can't beat the hospitality of good ole Kentucky! We were on our way home from an epic weekend in the Bluegrass state, when decided to stop for a little breakfast. We knew what we wanted--Cracker Barrel type food but with a more authentic country flair. So Crystal's Country diner fit the bill ! We went inside and we were greeted from across the room which was almost packed for a couple of tables. The server told us to take a seat anywhere we could find--we did. It took a little before anyone could bring us a menu. But a young girl around 12-13 came by with a paper with a poem and gave me a flower and told me, "Happy Mother's Day!". It seemed everyone knew each other more or less and we were the obvious outsiders. The server arrived at our table and gave us menus and took our drink orders. He was friendly--not overly so--which was understandable since it was quite busy for Mother's Day. He brought our drinks, and took our orders. It was maybe ten minutes before our food arrived. Hubs and I split a biscuit with gravy, he had fried eggs and bacon and I had scrambled eggs and the most delicious sausage I have ever had! I shared my other piece with my husband--reluctantly. And he agreed and said his bacon was yummy as well. The owner, Crystal was visiting every table introducing herself and taking photos of the patrons for her Facebook page. When she came to our table, I had to tell her just how delicious that sausage was! She said, "We get our sausage from a place in Bardstown called Old Delaney's". We gasped in delight because we had just been there a half hour ago and purchased a three pound package of sausage we were hoping we would like. Three pounds seem like a hefty commitment, since they didn't offer anything smaller. We were so happy with that tidbit of information! Crystal took our picture and thanked us for coming in. We will most definitely return--it's now one of our favorite places!

My family and I just got done eating here at Crystals. Everything we had was delicious. The gravy was the best homemade gravy I've tasted in a long time. So so good! The chicken and dumplings were well seasoned, very savory and just melts in your mouth. The meatloaf tastes exactly like you'd hope a meatloaf would taste and was juicy. I can't wait to come back and try more!

Crystals country diner is a small throwback diner located in the "downtown" portion of mount Washington Kentucky just off north bars town road. My wife, my two youngest daughters and I arrived here on a Sunday morning around 1130ish. It had a pretty good crowd. We walk in and the decor is what you would expect from a small country diner. Lots of southern and farmhouse style decor. So very homie feeling. We had some confusion upon walking in as there was no hostess and no "please seat yourself" or "wait to be seated" signs. So we kinda looked around uncomfortably until when finally asked someone and found out it was seat yourself. Tables were sparse and the ones available weren't the cleanest so we snagged up an undersized but cleaner table. It took a few moments and our waitress finally gave us menus. I personally ordered a country ham and cheese omelette and a full order of biscuits and gravy to share with my wife. The country ham omelette was pretty good. Nice and tasteful flavor and the toast was great too. The biscuits and gravy were awesome. Very fluffy and the milk gravy had awesome smooth flavor. My wife got a western omelette with no peppers and she was a fan also. She wasn't big on there cheese flavor but said the egg was great. My youngest two shared an egg and they both appeared to like it. My second youngest loved the toast. So the customer service here was hit and miss. It was either top notch or just bad. I think maybe they were short staffed and trying there best though. It took forever to get our food. However they were great with my kids. My one year old got upset so they brought her crackers without asking and said let's feed her and apologized for the long wait. The establishment was covered in a thin smog of smoke. It was pretty bothering. They eventually opened a door and kept it propped open when we was leaving but they really should of done it much sooner. Overall it was a good experience. Food was good and the place was cozy. Pricing despite a sign warning about price raising wasn't bad. Just under $40 for 4 of us. So $10 a person essentially. I'd come back and try it again. Food was good.

My wife and I stopped in here Sunday morning for breakfast. This is the first time that I've had this local establishment. I've heard good things I've always wanted to try it and we finally got an opportunity to go. I got the good old country breakfast with the bacon and eggs and biscuits and I must say it was fantastic. The atmosphere was great it's no longer a smoking restaurant so that helps out a lot too. And we both enjoyed our food very much so and we will be back

What a hole in the wall delicious place this is!! The chocolate chip pancakes were to die for! I am an avid CCpancake connoisseur as well! I think crystal was there working too bc this old lady was bussing tables and running food, she was amazing! Props to her bc everything was so good! 5/5 would go back!

You order at the window, take a buzzer, get your drinks and find somewhere to sit. We (a party of 4) showed up around 11 on a Sunday morning and the line was already out the door. We had a hard time deciding what to order because everything we saw coming out before us looked just as delicious as the last. After the owner greeted us and gave a run down while in line, we settled on the shrimp and grits, steak and eggs, bread pudding french toast with a side of bacon, and a chicken and bacon croissant sandwich. (I wanted to order the biscuits and gravy weekend feature but they were already sold out.) The girl at the register was polite but very soft spoken so we had trouble hearing what she said. The coffee was the perfect temperature for drinking immediately without scalding yourself, and the different flavorings and types of milk/cream to choose from was a major plus! There were no complaints about any of our food except the steak was a bit under seasoned. I had the french toast, and, in my opinion, is enough for 2 people. There was a bit too much whipped buttercream for me but I was able to rake off majority, and the fruit that came on top was so fresh! The bacon was thick sliced and 3 of my 4 pieces were cooked perfectly to my liking - not too crispy, not too soft! We all were part of the clean plate club after eating because the food was that good! I wished now we would have taken pics of our food before eating! It's a shame it came up as #16 on my Yelp search because it wasn't even the least bit on my radar for our breakfast spot. But luckily, the tag line, "The second best thing you can do in the morning", caught the attention of one our male guests Definitely will be back when the chance arises!

I substituted a croissant instead of Texas toast, which was recommended, but the croissant was basic -nothing special. Atmosphere is good and service was quick. Located off cedar creek road near the zoneton and Shepherdsville lines this family farm has very limited days and hour when they are open for business. Living not to far away from this place I've been wanting to try it for years. We finally made the stop in to his holiday season as we were gonna make Christmas Eve ribeyes for my in laws and wife family at our house. So we stopped in on a Thursday at 430pm as soon as they opened. You pull into a drive way and follow it back through a gate to the first set of buildings. You walk in and they have a spacious area with different refrigerators for your different types of meats. They also had eggs and jams and things in different areas. Truly a family owned business as when we walked there we met 3 generations of workers in the grandma, mom and daughter along with some other family members running Around. We purchased I think 7 ribeyes and they were priced very fairly. My wife actually said they was a few cents abound cheaper then big chains like wal mart and Meijer. So anytime you can shop local and save money it's a win win for everyone. The place does sale whole cows and pigs or portions of them at special pre designed cuts and prices. They also have some pre setup meal in bags like a steak and more breakfast that you can purchase. That like all of there food is purchased frozen so you have to still cook and prepare it yourself. We cooked up the steaks Christmas Eve night and they are delicious. Very good flavor and very tasty. So absolutely no complaints here. Overall glad we finally checked this place out. Now that we have and no they have good steaks and pricing we will have to try and be available during there limited hours of operation so we can keep supporting this local business.
