The waiters are nice and the food is decent but the manager just seems like a complete A**H***

Came in here due to the giant advertisement on their window, "4 Grand Slams for Under $10!" I asked our server (according to my overpriced receipt it was Rosa), for the red, white and berry $10 slam. Our waitress said there's only one $10 slam and that's not one of them. I said I saw the ad on the window and it said 4 slams under $10, so I wanted the blueberry pancake one from that deal. She again said no, there's only 1 and that's not one of the deals. I thought maybe I misread it and ordered the full price red, white and berry pancake breakfast. As I leave I again see the $10 ad, same one advertised on here. It was the same thing I ordered just without hash browns, so essentially I laid $7 for hash-browns! Terrible shady service, waitresses here are swindlers. I also had to ask them to clean the booth they sat me at which hadn't been wiped down before we were sat, it still had sugar on the table and food crumbs on the seat. read more

I've never thought to review Denny's. But today our server changed my mind. Our server was Evelyn and she was such a pleasure to interact with! A total sweetheart! Personable and friendly! Dealing with customers seems so natural and easy for her. So needed in today's world! So hard to find! She deserves a HUGE Promotion and raise. Take it from me, I specialized in customer service. I have a degree in Psychology too and this natural talent to make people happy, to listen to them with kindness and care is a trait hard to find!!! P.S. Upon walking in, we were immediately greeted by the manager Erick with a big smile, seated us right away, and brought out our drinks immediately. Shortly after, Erick introduced us to our waiter George and he began to serve us. He quickly took our orders, and our food came out quickly as well. It was delicious! During our meal Erick came around again to make sure everything was good and that we were enjoying our meal. It was a great experience eating at this Denny's. Everyone was very friendly & welcoming. Horrible!!! Made a mobile order and when I went to pick up my order that said it would be ready in 20 min, the restaurant was closed for renovations! A manager left me a voicemail the next day apologizing saying they are going to refund my money. (I still have the voicemail) They never did. This was 2 months ago!! I've been in there 4 times since and spoke to a supervisor twice and employees twice. Each time I left my information and they even took pictures of my mobile order from my phone. The portion size is pretty big and the meals are filling. Saturday mornings are busy at the Denny's in Santa Paula but I still felt like we were seated and our food came in a timely manner and exactly as we ordered! No mess up from the kitchen even when they were so overwhelmed. The salted caramel banana pancakes: 5 stars! If you like sweet pancakes this is the one for you! Sooo good! Will have it again for sure Moon over my Hammy with upgraded seasoned fries for an extra 1$: 5 stars. Fries were crunchy and spot on. Very well seasoned. The ham, egg, and cheese sandwich was good but bread could have been a tad more toasted. Honey jalapeño bacon with the hash and scrambled eggs: 3 stars. Upgraded these bacon for a dollar. Bacon needed to be more crunchy. Would not order it again. Egg and hash were your average entree as you would expect. Could have done without it. Parking is convenient in its own public parking lot. Food was great once we got breakfast 20 mins after ordering. Waiter Pedro R. was a terrible server. After 20 mins to get our food, he was never seen again. I never got offered more water, and my glass was empty. We didn't leave a tip on purpose. I worked for Dennys back in the day. You had two minutes to great and take drinks. After serving, you were expected to make sure, twice that all was good. Clear plates and then drop off the check. Now, there are NO such standards it appears. read more

Well, you got a remember you're not eating at the Ritz Carlton when you are at Denny's. But, this DENNY's in Santa Paula is in a great location, is very clean, and welcoming. I met a friend here for breakfast last weekend. She was running late and at first I was just going to wait in the lobby for her, but then customers starting piling in and the place was getting super busy so I got back in line and asked for a table for two. I ended up being seated at the most awkward little tiny table at the very back of the restaurant next to the emergency exit and the isle to the kitchen. Oh well, it worked out. I think our server's name was Juan though I'm not sure. He was fantastic. He'd just started his shift and was very cheerful and energetic. He made sure our drinks were full and gave us updates when our food was taking a bit long. Food was delicious. Lots of sweet sugary options and I went with the red white and blue pancakes which have blueberries in them and strawberries and whipped cream on top. Delicious! So tasty I forgot to pour the maple syrup on that had come out with them. Interior looks totally remodeled from the previous occupancy and the place is clean, with a light, breezy atmosphere. Worst customer service ever. Manager with huge attitude refused to sit our party together. We were 9 customers. Went by after Ghost Walk show in Santa Paula. He said there would be an hour wait to sit us in several booths. Apparently did not want customers at 10pm. Supposed to be 24 hour open ??? And manager wants to pick and choose customers.... . Good and convenient. I like the breakfasts. There is a great set of coupons and they are always delicious. Dennys is open all the time and seemed like a perfect match to the needs in our town for a freeway close restaurant to get a quick bite. The waitress and manager were both incredibly rude and embarrassing when I tried to explain and asked for a kids menu. I have had meals at the Denny's in Santa Paula ca pre-covid flu and recently in the last week for breakfast. The place and service was top notch. However, my cheese omlettes scrambled eggs with my delicious pancakes breakfast meal quality was unsatisfactory. I can make it at home. So I seldom order it out, but I was with friends out at lunch time. The eggs were powered and the cheese was artificial made out of oil. All together the only good thing of my order was the perfectly cooked bacon and large delicious pancakes. I felt cheated. I won't be back. Horrible experience. They are now open for dine in. Things we wanted off menu were unavailable. Waitress wasn't attentive. The place was basically empty and she'd take forever to come back or forget items. Aside from not having certain items on menu, they ran out of ketchup. We were a party of 4 and 3 of us ordered a dish with fries. I asked if someone can go get some from Tressieras and she declined. Said she'd give us a huge discount at the end for all the inconveniences. She didn't! One of the gentlemen I was with paid and left it alone.
