    Tried out their brunch menu on a Sunday & it was so tasty! Had the beef dip and fries at $19.99, very filling and just delicious. The servers were excellent, very friendly, very attentive but not overly so. The hostess was welcoming from the moment we arrived and even made a point of saying goodbye and thanked us for coming, it was a nice touch, I liked it.

    I was generously given a Black Angus gift card for Christmas, and I had absolutely no idea there was one nearby. It's in the same large parking lot as the Burlington Coat Factory and the Dollar store, and it's on the other end from the Chick-fil-A. There's plenty of parking. I've never tried the restaurant before. So I was looking forward to trying the place for the first time. First of all, I made reservations to be seated, but there was no need for reservations as half the restaurant was empty. We were seated pretty immediately, given menus, and our server came by within 5 minutes to ask what we'd like to drink. We both ordered waters, and my husband also ordered an old-fashioned. Five minutes passed, and our server stopped by to let us know our drinks would be out soon. It took another 10 minutes for the old-fashioned to come out, which came out first. And then finally, the waters came out a couple of minutes after. The server also left us bread, which was probably one of the better parts of the entire meal. And for an appetizer, we ordered the jumbo shrimp, which was okay. We then placed our entree orders: steak with Mac n cheese and broccoli, and rib eye with fries and green beans. Luckily, the food came out pretty quickly. Both the steak and rib eye tasted bland, and it seemed that no amount of salt I sprinkled on them could make them any better. The Mac N cheese was hands down the worst Mac N cheese I've ever tasted - and I absolutely love Mac N cheese. I would've preferred Kraft Mac N Cheese in a box, just to let you know how unremarkable their Mac N Cheese tasted. For me, somehow, the most delicious food was the over-salted green beans and warm broccoli. It then took a while to flag down our server to get the check. I wish I could say something stood out about the restaurant, but the food was pretty bland, and the service was mediocre. This place is also excellent for large groups and families looking to dine, but remember to be patient and set your expectations for being served mediocre food at best.

    Okay now!!! That's how you recover!! Grrat job Savanah for training Gaby. We didn't even realize she was in training because she was so amazingto begin with! Thank you Ben, and Chris, thank you for sticking with the restaurant and giving great service. The Re-opening was brutal and tough, but GOOD staff makes good restaurants and that's what people, and locals are looking for! Great service, great food (hot and fresh) great drinks, clean and organized. I was pretty hard the first time I reviewed this spot. I knew I had to revisit and give the restaurant and staff a chance to reset, recover, and redeliver. Well Bravo well done Black Angus. We will definitely be back for more great everything!!!

    Visited Black Angus for my wife's birthday after a year of them being closed, and I'm happy to say it delivered on every front. Food, service, renovations, and management all great. Sunday at 7pm, we were quickly sat at a booth for 4. Cain, the manager, greeted us as we walked and wished my wife a happy birthday. A minute later, we were greeted by Helen who brought us water, bread, and got us going with a Strawberry Cadillac Margarita and a Jalapeño Margarita. We all indulged with a Shrimp Cocktail, Buffalo and honey sriracha chicken tenders, house salads, Chicken Avocado Bacon Sandwich, Ribeye, New York, and a Top Sirloin. Every dish was excellent, with the steaks cooked to a proper Med Rare (3 for 3). The tenders were a table favorite and taste like fresh breading. Another highlight was the other manager, Kristy, swinging by our table to greet us and also congratulating my wife on her birthday. She even went to grab us ranches, give us some future recommendations, and bring another round of bread. Helen our server was kind and accommodated each special food request (all 10+ of them lol). The night ended with a surprise cowboy cookie, with a candle and sprinkles for the special occasion. Cain came by the table at the end of the meal one more time to thank us for dining in. Overall an excellent dining experience highlighted by great welcoming service from Helen, Cain, and Kristy. Other restaurants should take notes from Black Angus because Management, when they're welcoming and engaging, can truly elevate a dining experience especially during special occasions. Thank you Black Angus, happy you guys are back!

    So excited to have Black Angus back in Ventura! We went the first week from reopen on a Thursday night (11-20), after making a reservation online. I am giving them a pass because I know they had been closed for so long and maybe the servers are rusty. I've heard another server was pretty new so it would explain some of the delays but my server in particular had said she had been working prior to the shut down and was on a maternity leave so it was really slow getting service. Never received our complimentary bread. We decided on the classic Campfire Feast. I had ordered our steak medium well but got it well done so it was a little tough to cut. Mom got the full rack of ribs which she raved were tender so glad she was pleased. We ordered two different margaritas and one came too strong so we asked for more of the margarita mix, but it took 15 minutes to get that and by then, the ice in our margarita was melting. I had to ask for things several times before it finally came which was unfortunate, even for our check! Also, if I hadn't reminded our server about our dessert that was included with our feast, she would have missed it. I'm hearing hits and misses when it comes to service when it being back open so maybe everyone just needs to get their bearings. I will be returning just because we really missed Black Angus! The place still looks the same. Some touchuos but still the good ol reliable BA.

Oysters - Freshly shucked and you can't leave without ordering a dozen...or two. Their rotation of what type of oysters they have does change regularly I think I read but when I came in the smaller west coast oysters were great. Meals like this remind me why living here feels like paradise. There's a reason these long time local favorites stand the test of time and it's important that we continue to support them so they'll be around for another 40 years! Cheers to Eric Ericssons, definitely a highlight meal for me this year.
