Stopped here for breakfast when I had some downtime at work and I did not regret it. I was a party of one so there was no wait to be seated during rush hour and my food came out within 15 minutes of ordering it. The staff was very attentive and checked on me and refilled my coffee multiple times throughout my visit. My daughter loves dennys and we would always go whenever she has shortened period. Today we walked in to Dennys at Van Buren and no employee at the front. I can see servers walking around but didn't say anything like they didn't even say "we will be with you in a minute". Just silence. So i said to one employee (which looks like he hated his job, no smiles or anything) face) we wanna be seated and he said wait 5 minutes. Ok. So me and my daughter just stand there. People started coming at the front to pay and this employee with no emotion or anything started checking out people. One check out.. fine.. take note i am standing at the front. Second check out .. i need to say something. I ask again.. when are we going to be seated and he the employee got rude and everything saying that he said 5 mins and it had only been 2 min and this is not mcdonalds.. like wtf? If you hate your job don't work there. We walk out saying to myself oooh not today! You have the rudest customer service . Me and my daughter are having a good day and i want to treat her to her favorite breakfast place and you just ruined it. Ive been to this place and other employees are not like you. Its not even busy and looks like you hated coming there . Then quit!! Everyone knows about Denny's food -- it's pretty much a hit or miss. It's Denny's, so you know what to expect. Considering I was about half asleep when I ate here, I believe I was most happy that the service was friendly and they had hot coffee. The restaurant is clean, the servers are friendly and attentive and the food is good for the price. I enjoyed it. i had scrambled eggs when i go to dennys, they never seem to get the runny part cooked when fried. Denny's is one of those late-night cravings I have where almost anything tastes good. In the daytime however, unless you're ordering a sandwich or grand slam, it's more of a miss than a hit. My hubby's fries felt a little frozen which (for some reason) surprised me, also his onion rings didn't seem to be cooked all the way. My chicken and gravy bowl (I think that's what it's called) was okay except the gravy wasn't my favorite. I only give this Dennys two stars bc there food is always good. However, it ends there. I will give this place 3 stars, based on all my experiences were good besides my last. Denny's is never my first choice, but my dad and my son love it. Service is good. Appearance in diner is great. Food is okay. The last 2 times I've been there, they didn't have one thing I wanted or another. Real reason for this post is because their bathroom is just disgusting. It really turned me off, I also don't see myself going back to the Van Buren Location. Only one stall was open, and it was filthy. Tissue everywhere on the floor and in the toilet, pee in the toilet and it freaking smelled. I went to Albertsons to use the bathroom instead. This Denny's used to be really good. I'm not sure what happened but whatever it is needs to be looked at by upper management. We used to go there and were always really pleased with the food and service. The last several times we have gone there has been horrible. The place is really dirty. Food, spills and trash all over the floor. All the tables need to be cleaned. After waiting for a table to be cleaned there is only one waitress handling all the tables. The people that work there are friendly enough, it's the manager that doesn't seem to care. The company needs to hire management that cares and is on top of things. The manager at this particular Denny's maybe can't help that he is morbidly obese but he should not be just standing around eating and not paying attention. He is not friendly, he just doesn't seem to care. He is lazy and has sweat dripping off him. Seriously. I don't want my food served with someone else's sweat in it. Normally yes I recommend this place. But today they get a thumbs up, this time it's a thumbs down. Shame on the attitude of the hostess without the mostest. There was no TP in either bathroom! And these are the giant size rolls! There was absolutely none! When we told someone they went to get it and came back with one; I told the hostess your going to need 2, both bathrooms have absolutely no toilet paper. She remarked "Okaaaay ma'am!" This place deserves more stars. I came in yesterday night for dinner after work, and I ordered a skillet but I mentioned I'm allergic to bell peppers. I'm assuming it was the manager, but he was so kind! He explained that the bell peppers came mixed with the onions they used and offered to replace the onions too! I appreciated that a ton, because I can't eat food that come into contact with bell peppers. I've never had this kind of consideration from ANY food establishment and I was so so so thankful for it. I come to this place a lot, and I think they have a new manager or shift leader. He was very attentive and kind, you could tell he was giving you 110%. I felt really bad when the couple next to me started being rude (the place was full and he was running around trying to please everyone) and I'm pretty sure they left without paying - but he handled their rudeness with upmost professionalism. On Monday I ordered food for my mother. When I finished it gave me a pick up time. I called the store manager and explained that i thought i was ordering delivery. I live in a different city but was ordering food for my mother who was sick. The manager said I'll deliver the food myself. She received her food quickly and it tasted great. What the manager did not know was my mom has cancer and had an allergic reaction to chemotherapy that day. She was really sick. I never had to explain that. I went to this Denny's for a quick breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. The ratings on Yelp did not do it justice. I had the strawberry crepe breakfast. The service was excellent, as was the food. My waitress took my order immediately, even though it was very crowded, and my order came very fast. The crepes were very good and my eggs were cooked to perfection. My wife and I has breakfast here. Newer Denny's - that is, the décor inside was new and upbeat. This was a plus. Staff here seemed to enjoy their jobs; good vibe from everyone. Meals were good, not great. My wife's omelet was over cooked and the '3-cheese' aspect was missing, not sure there was even -one cheese- on there. Fillings were good as was the OJ. My Grand slammwich was delicious, I mean everything was perfect. eggs cooked well; perfect amount of cheese, toast was perfect.....all was good. Clean restaurant and clean bathrooms. Some hot chocolate and pie sure sounded good after the drive in. Now a 15 minute wait with only two customers in the restaurant, not so good. Right as we showed up the waitress told us if we could give her a minute. That was no problem but after ten minutes we approached her again. This time she seemed annoyed and told us to wait again. After waiting longer we finally were seated. As we were being seated, we were moved around due to the dirty tables. The only good experience here was the hot chocolate. The pumpkin pie was okay but the apple pie was soggy and smashed. I kind of wished I got some pie at McDonald's next-door! Not only was the food unimpressive, the service was even worse. After just constantly waiting in the beginning, we waited another 20 minutes to just pay. Keep in mind, this place was basically empty. The reason it took so long was because our waitress was yelling at the cook saying rude things like "uh do you think you can make this order right this time?." She totally just kept embarrassing him in front of everybody. This specific Denny's needs to either be completely flipped or shut down. My Wife and I haven't been to this Denny's and I notice that it has been upgraded like Pomona and Upland in our area. My wife had a Breakfast dish with Fruit and bread and I had the Wild Salmon Skillet dinner with a side of soup-Clam Chowder (Bowl). the Chowder HAD A spicy taste to it. The Salmon and the rest of the food on the skillet tasted good. My wife had ice water and I had Iced tea. We had two detours on Van Buren, one near Arlington and the other one near the 60FWY. Denny's has ADA Parking near the front door. This Denny's is located near a Albertson's Mkt., Sav-On in a shopping center. Near the Van Buren Drive In theater. Don't forget to use your AARP membership for your Denny's discount on your total bill !!!! read more

As Denny's goes, this location is probably my favorite one in the IE. The staff is friendly and the food they serve is consistently of the quality they've become known for.
