The food is typical Denny's, so we all love Denny's...so this review is of Laura, our PERFECT waitress. She made sure I didn't get too many carrots and cabbage in my salad and brought our meals perfectly timed and got right all of my "on the side" quirks. The only reason this gets a four star... because Laura was a five...is because of Candace, the hostess. I made a comment, as I ordered a slice of cheesecake to go, in reference to this being my last dessert for a while because we were going to Cabo in three months and needed to get back on the treadmill. I start mixing the salad with the dressing and I noticed the lettuce was Brown and old it was disgusting. My family & I came here on a Saturday morning for some tasty, affordable breakfast. We ordered coffee & meals. Food was tasty. I ordered overeasy eggs & was given scrambled. Ok I still won't complain eggs are eggs & I love Dennys. My coffee gets cold, I search with my eyes for a waitress, none available. Ok, now I'm getting irritated. I had been sitting for 20 mins, still no hot coffee. I raised my cup high to grasp the attention of waitresses. Finally got a refill. It was busy but not crazy busy. Now, My 5, 3 & 1 year olds are devouring their meals..drat, no extra napkins?! I manage & we finish up. I send my husband with an expired 20% off coupon on my phone to pay. Let me tell you, I've been using expired 20% coupons at Dennys throughout the Inland Empire & Los Angeles for over 10 years & they have ALWAYS been ACCEPTED. First, Manager Noe, says they don't accept coupons on phones. Secondly, he says our coupon is expired. My husband returns back to me & tells me of the coupon being denied. Ok, I speak with Cashier Stephanie, I ask her politely for the district manager's number she says ok, then rudely summons another customer to come pay. I'm standing there waiting, as the other customer pays she tells me, "you need to look online, all the information is online." I say, "ok, Show me what to look for on Google chrome." I hand her my phone. She takes another customer & then attempts to search on my phone for the DM's number & realizes it's not as easy as it seems. She calls manager Noe over to help. He politely & kindly writes down the DM's number on a blank receipt paper for me. Yay, now I can speak to someone for clarity on why most Dennys accept expired coupons & why others don't. My husband and I split a meal and use a discount card so our bill is 14.00 but we leave her a 10.00 tip every time because she is attentive, friendly, and just an all around nice gal. A very nice waiter was very kind to my company and myself. He was very genuine about the hospitality of the resturaunt and showed use a kind regard to our needs. His name is Jimmy by the way. The only issue I would have is the fact that the manager was complaining about our company being here often and we have been paying customers. We heard this through other customers as well. This place is hit or miss. I love breakfast meals at any time of the day so it's smno surprise that Denny's is a favorite. I've been to this location twice and had two similar yet two very different experiences. The first time I went I had an older white woman who could not get any aspect of our order correct and when we tried to correct her she would rudely interrupt us and say that we didn't say that. It was so frustrating. The second time I went again our order was slightly messed up (mind you we didn't order anything crazy nor make any request to change any aspect of our order on either visit.) However our waitress a young brunette with tattoos, was very nice and helpful. She attempted to correct the mistakes and handled herself well. I'll go back again and give this place a try. read more

Terrible! I placed a to go order. Got my order and glanced through to make sure it was right. I thought it was, but I got a mile down the road and the little nagging voice in my head told me that I was missing a side of mashed potatoes. I checked again and sure enough, it was missing. Back I went. I got the potatoes and headed home again. I got home and couldn't find my garlic toast that goes with my pot roast. I look closer to realize that they placed the mashed potatoes and pot roast and all the gravy ON TOP of my garlic toast. Now I'm a little annoyed since I live about 6 miles away and am not feeling like driving back on a Sunday night when my family is home eating. I decide to call and complain to the manager. He apologized and offered me a HALF ORDER of garlic toast on my next order. First of all, I shouldn't have to go back and ORDER anything else when they screwed up. I tell the manager (Manny) that I'm not happy with that. For all the trouble, they could at least comp me a full meal. He stands firm with his offer and I tell him to forget it. It was on 05/26/2018 and around 7:30 or 8pm and my wife and I went to the Denny's on Van Buren, the one that's close to the Movies Drive In. We went in and we waited about 20 minutes to be seated until the manager of the restaurant came and showed us to a table but this wasn't the end of their bad service. We waited and waited at the table for over 20 more minutes and no one bothered to come to our table and offer us anything. Right after that we got up and left. There's no leadership here or any respect nor interest in serving their customers. When we showed up to this VanBuren Denny's, more than half of the tables were empty so not having enough staff wasn't the issue since the waitresses/ servers were all in one place chatting and on their phones. I don't understand why yelp allows one star as the Lowe's rating. It should be zero the lowest. We left and went to the Denny's on Madison street right off the 91 freeway. And I'm not exaggerating but about 1 or 2 minutes after we walked in Gina, the waitress/server here at Madison greeted us and showed us to our table and in a matter of less than 20 minutes approximately we were already eating. Very disappointed. I have came to this denny's many times and I have never experienced this. Took my family out for a late dinner and the food was good. However once we were almost done eating we noticed a small cockroach crawling on the table we have no idea where it came from whether it was from the table or the skillets since we ordered that and those usually come with the bottom plastic on it so you don't get burned. I will NEVER be returning here EVER! The manager was very apologetic when I explained the situation said he would get someone to come out and check "the cockroach problem" i highly doubt that will happen. But beware people. read more

This Denny's is close for convenience. So I've been coming here for years. Over that time, service has been great & then there were times where it's not do great. Back to say that from 1 star bringing it to three now. I've given this place another few tries since I was with company and didn't want to refuse this Denny's since it was easier to get to. My buddy drinks it immediately and I laughed at him and ask the server "Sorry, could we get another water?" He goes "Yeah, sure I'll bring you a bigger glass." So my buddy and I are so irritable we're like FINE, we'll drink it ALL so we both did just that. Drank all that water. Challenge accepted. But regardless even after that he was rude. Never asked to refill my tea (like I care, we had enough water for four tables) took forever to take our plates. Took forever to get our to-go box. At one point I told my buddy "Dude, forget it. He's not gonna bring you a box." To which he laughed and said "He will if he wants this table clear." Overall our server made this otherwise casual outing tense. He irritated both of us and I thought nah, I'll go home and see if I still feel this way tomorrow. Well. I do. I will never come back. I don't know what Lebron's problem was. I've had bad days too. I've had to work holidays. I know food service is a tough job and it was busy (not packed mind you) but honestly, all his guest were smiling and cheerful. No one seemed to be ready to dish him as hard a time as he dished us. We went on Sunday after services to the Denny's in Riverside off of Van Burden and I think I was better off making my own food at home. The cups, utensils and plates were filthy. My son was scrapping dry eggs off of one of the cups. I got served coffee in a cup full of lipstick. I wasn't wearing any lipstick. When we confronted them on it they told us it was the same price. The strawberry lemonade was $3.5 while my iced capp was $2.89. The lemonade cost more than my iced Capp and that's not even what we ordered. A soda should cost less that the fancy drink I ordered. I'd look into that because it's never okay to take advantage of customers. They told us it's the same price and just a label.
