This Denny's stood out from others I've visited. The staff was great but there was a young white lady waiting on another table that was probably the best waitress I've ever witnessed. She was very helpful and engaging but not to the point of being annoying. Now the food. The chicken sandwich was great and the chicken was cooked perfect and was tender. I have zero complaints for the Denny's location.

How wonderful to have a brand new Denny's just down the road. It is located at the junction of FM 1314 and the Grand Pkwy. We went for breakfast and were seated right away. The staff was incredibly friendly but still getting used to the new technology they are using to take and place orders. I had the 55 plus special, one egg, hash browns (cooked crispy), and swapped toast for an English muffin. The meal comes with 1 bacon and 1 sausage. The food was cooked to my instructions, served hot and quickly. My husband ordered the Philly cheese steak omelet and a side of sausage. He also opted for the English muffin. Again he was very pleased with the quality of his meal.

Denny's is a great addition to the Highlands and Cumberland area. They serve all the favorites 24 hours a day. The location is accessible from both 1314 and Cumberland Blvd (through the parking areas). So if you have a golf cart, it's a quick run for a great meal. For the folks in The Highlands, it's still an off road walk, but the road is being developed. We visited 3 days after their grand opening. While the crew is still visibly shaking out the kinks and learning the ropes, they were friendly and attentive. They sat us quickly and took our orders. They kept our coffee cups full. Everything showed up hot and fresh. They never rushed us. It was a great breakfast. I had the Philly cheesesteak omelet which is a fav. Sadly, I substituted the hash browns for veggies to fit my keto diet, but I did get to taste a fork full ... delicious and crispy. The order came out fast and hot. It was delicious and so filling. I recommend stopping in for a meal or a hot coffee.

We try to support local Kingwood are restaurants and hadn't been to Union Kitchen in quite a while. We arrived and asked for a table for 6, the dining room was busy so they said it would be a few minutes. Then 3 more of our group we hadn't expected arrived and the hostess quickly let the servers know to make our table larger. We only had to wait 8 or 9 minutes and were seated in the side dining room which was great as it was not crowded so it was easy to talk without a lot of ambient noise from the more crowded main room. I believe one of the assistant managers began taking drink orders as our designated server was finishing up some tables nearby. She had a great sense of humor and quickly went to get our drinks. FYI, they have both an All Day menu and a lunch special one which we hadn't seen before a their website so that is an option and is a bit less expensive with smaller servings than the All Day one. As it was April 15, they had a special small Tax Day menu where everything was prices at $4.15! What a cute idea! We all ordered our lunches and soon we were enjoying what was brought out. I had the special lentil soup and the blackened salmon tacos, my wife had the 1/2 lb classic burger and the house made potato chips. Everything was excellent. Glad we stopped by for our group lunch.

We saw it online and loved the vast menu selection so we thought we'd give it a try. From the exterior, it doesn't look like much almost looks like you could be walking into a craft store or a boot barn cause it's just in a shopping mall strip center. But once you enter inside, the dark wood, the wine bottles, the lighting all creates a very nice ambience of an upscale restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. We were just grabbing a bite to eat before a movie and this place turned out to be much nicer than me. I previously anticipated. We decided to order off of the Happy Hour menu so that we could try several things. We got the queso dip of course...because, when in Texas...We also got the crabcakes and a cheeseburger with truffle fries. They had some great drink specials, but we got ice tea instead. That was plenty of food for two of us to share. Out of the three items that we ordered off the Happy Hour menu, I would say the cheesburger was the best! The bun was small enough to not be overwhelming and the meat had a very nice barbecue taste. The crabcakes were OK as was the queso. Our waiter gave excellent service! Can't remember his name, but he was tall and I believe had dirty blonde hair. The entire meal was super yummy with excellent service and convenient. Couldn't ask for more. We definitely recommend this place. We wanted to get beignets for dessert, but we were too full to order anything else. Oh and if you go at Happy Hour, even if you're not drinking, everything on the Happy Hour menu is 50% off. Check it out!

It was busy when we arrived with plenty of people eating inside and outside. We were seated in one of the booths. I ordered the cappuccino to start. It was ok... foam is not firm enough to stand the spoon test. Cowboy scramble with gravy looked great from the menu with gravy. It was ok... gravy tasted good but it's mostly egg with very minimal meat (sausage, bacon, ham). We also ordered pancakes. When they delivered the maple syrup, it spilled on the table and they didn't bother to clean it up. We also had a parfait, they forgot the spoon and took a while. We had to ask another server for it as our server didn't come back for a while. Restaurant is nicely decorated and colorful. They have a bar for mimosas, etc.

My wife, my son, and I were driving back from a trip to Livingston when my wife suggested Chicken Salad Chick. At first I thought, "Only chicken salad?" But she started listing the options- buffalo chicken salad, barbecue chicken salad, chicken salad with apples and grapes, plus pimento cheese. So, I figured it was worth a try. The restaurant has a trendy, down-home vibe, kind of like being at a cool aunt's house. The girl at the counter was great and very helpful with ordering, and I like fast-casual places that bring the food out to your table. I ordered a Dixie Chick chicken salad sandwich with macaroni and spicy pimento cheese. My wife got the Classic Carol on a croissant with broccoli soup and grape salad, and my son ordered the turkey club with macaroni and a side of buffalo chicken salad. The chicken salads were fresh and tasty. The Dixie Chick and the pimento cheese were my favorites. The macaroni was a bit of a letdown, not bad, just nothing special. The other standouts were the broccoli soup and the grape salad. The Classic Carol was good but a little plain for my taste. I also tried the red velvet cake, which was really good with excellent cream cheese frosting. Overall I'd recommend it, especially if you want something different from the usual fried chicken spots.
