The crackers are very stale. The worker is quite rude so. The bathroom smells like a mix of pineapple gum strong poop and strong pee. Very disgusting. The place is not well cleaned and the floors are very dirty. Food is very good

    Slamburger

The crackers were very stale. The said that they had coke products but when I asked for a Shirley temple the waiter laughed and said that they didn't have them. The bathrooms smell like a mixture of pineapple gum and poop. The slamburger is good but get the seasoned fries. The normal ones are not good.

Went here with my boyfriend for a pre-Christmas date and had a very tasty meal. I had made…read morereservations for 7 and we were seated immediately. We were pretty close to the door, which wasn't ideal with how cold it was. They have a sort of vestibule outside but it's not fully enclosed so it does almost nothing to improve the blast of cold air when the door opens. I should preface this review with I liked the food but the service was a bit slow, however, I know fine dining service is a bit more leisurely, so I may be overly harsh on that front. Anyway, once we were seated, water came out right away. We then waited a while for the waiter to get our drink orders so I ordered the empanadas with our drinks (we were hungry). Empanadas came out quickly and were very tasty. Drinks were not quite as quick but were also very tasty. Then we waited a while for the waiter to come back to order our entrees. And at that point, I asked if we could have some bread. I saw a bunch of tables with bread but I think our waiter maybe forgot because most folks in his section didn't seem to have it. When that came out, I wanted to laugh. 2 small pieces of focaccia and a small piece of the other kind. 3 pieces of bread does not a bread basket make. He did offer to bring more but my boyfriend declined (What?!, but I didn't contradict him) so I can't fully complain about that. Once our mains came out, my complaints about the slower service and small bread portion were erased because good heavens the short rib was INCREDIBLE. So melt in your mouth and flavorful. Definitely some of the best short ribs I've had in my life. My boyfriend had some kind of dish with a butternut squash puree, mushrooms and cauliflower. His was very good too but perhaps a bit gravy with the salt. We did get our order for dessert in pretty quick and that was a great end to the meal. The passionfruit puree made it really bright tasting. TL;DR: really delicious food (4.5-4.75) but service pacing, and the blasts of cold air made it a 4. We would go back but I had a gift card, and I'm not sure I would have been as happy with the meal if we'd paid full price, if that makes sense.

My friend and I had never tried…read moreStory before due to its distance from us and prohibitive pricing, but we decided to try it during Restaurant Week. To provide some background, I'm a foodie. I've been to Boston, San Francisco, Italy, France, etc. I KNOW good food. Story is comprised of a menu that is a little more avant-garde than your typical Kansas City restaurant. The flavors are a bit more complex that require maybe more processing in the mouth before you can decide whether or not it's amazing. But I LOVED that about this place. Did I think that everything was a 5/5 in terms of taste? No, but I can say their carrot cake was DIVINE. I would definitely recommend Story and go back the next time I'm in the area.

And a convenient drive thru! Seasonal drinks and pastries were enjoyed - And I did love that creme brulee donut - absolutely worth the calories. The interior is bright with three walls of windows, seating is comfortable and when I went on a Wednesday at 8am was entirely empty. I have a feeling this will be a new favorite place to meet for business coffees as it is easy to find, easy to park and supporting local means a lot to me. The service was good too.

Quiet open arrival, but as it quickly gained patrons, it was difficult with hearing aids to carry on a conversation. Old building, high ceilings - - LOTS of conversations. It's busy with 30 to 50 year olds. It was an absolute JOY to witness their gatherings, hugs and smiles. Eric - - our server, was very kind, patient and helped explain several of the questions we had regarding the menu. We APPRECIATED his attention to our large water carafe, filling it frequently. THANKS ERIC (with a C!!) Our food was nicely plated, temperature perfect and portions were VERY generous. The Classic Breakfast was my choice. Eggs cooked as directed, breakfast potatoes, one smallish, breakfast sausage in natural casing. A steak knife would have been helpful. I don't know the brand of bacon they serve, but it was FABULOUS! Thick sliced, prepared beautifully and mmmm, mmmm GOOD! The plate includes a Cheddar Biscuit. It is BIG and delicious LOOKING! I had to bring it, half of my potatoes and the sausage "to go". My husband ordered the Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit. He was not a fan of the less than tasty sausage. #DIL ordered a Chicken Biscuit - - she shared a bite of the chicken. Let's just say, I KNOW what I will be ordering NEXT time we go. Our grandson ordered his favorite Biscuits & Gravy. HUGE portions, suitable for a growing young man. We will be back! P.S. The Gilded Pear cocktail was delicious. The Key Lime Pie was exquisite. Lovely plating and scrumptious. I shared it with my husband PLUS we brought half of it home.
