Kind of high bill for breakfast nowadays
Chris B.

Had a really good breakfast and service was excellent. The only real draw back was that my pancakes were raw on the inside. The waitress was apologetic and willing to get me some more but I didn't need to eat all of them anyway so it worked out in the end but not everyone would of been as accommodating as I was.

a plate of breakfast food

My boyfriend and I have had breakfast at Denny's 3 times since moving to Palestine, and our breakfasts have all been delicious! The biscuits are tender and the scrambled eggs are done perfectly each time I've gotten them. Our last visit, I had so much food that I couldn't eat it all so my boyfriend benefited by getting some of mine. For me, this is THE breakfast place to go! Reasonable prices, excellent service too.

Cinnamon and cream cheese pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, and coffee. Delicious!

This was my first time eating at this Denny's while visiting my daughter and granddaughter. We were seated in the "corner", so service started off a bit slower. It was about 5 minutes or so before a waitress realized that we were there. Once she saw us, service took off like a rocket! The waitress was very attentive and service was awesome. Our order was spot on and she never let out drinks get empty. I definitely will visit again before I head home.

Bandaid from my daughters shake!!

This place is absolutely disgusting!!! My daughter ordered a milkshake and as she was drinking it, she pulled a bandaid out of her mouth!!!! Server admitted it was hers and wondered where it had went???? Do not go here!!!!! My daughter is mortified! Everyone around us was sick! This place should be closed down!

If you want eyelashes in your food than this is the place for you. Terrible service.

Despite what people said about this Denny's when it first opened, it's wonderful now with wonderful food!

Easy access to Denny's because it's in a truck stop. Service was slow but food was perfect, hot and great portions.

Dolli's Diner - A celebrity decided to have lunch at Dollie's today. It was pleased so it didn't eat any body.

We have eaten a Dolli's several times and it is always busy. This visit was no different. However,…read moreservice was marginal. Several apologies later, we finally got our food. I had the BLT with the optional egg and it was okay, nothing to write home about. Coffee was good. Restaurant and toilets were clean and from the sign posted in the men's room, it is highly rated (lol). Nothing like some bathroom humor! We will certainly be back as we are always hopefully that today was an anomaly.

Makes you feel like you're in a Texas country town for sure! My daughter and I were in Nacogdoches for college visit to SFA and we looked this place up in the hopes that we would find something different than a normal chain stop. It certainly is different and was exactly what you might imagine. Everything on the menu is decently priced and it seems that Tuesday is the place to be with short stack specials for $2 along with the weekday breakfast special at $6.95 On of my daughter's favorite meals is chicken fried steak and what better place to try that than a local diner??? Unfortunately it fell below expectations. The portions were quite large, enough that we could have just split a plate. The idea of sausage gravy on top of the mashed potatos and steak sounds heavy but also potentially fantastic. However both the gravy and the fry were quite under seasoned. I was able to fix mine with some cholula sauce and some salt and pepper was a quick fix as well for my daughter. The side of green beans and carrots she got were actually pretty good so perhaps there was just a disconnect in flavor at the meat station this day. I did very much enjoy the side salad I chose instead of the veggie medley. Came with home-made ranch which brought me back to my East Texas family gatherings with the freshly shaken ranch.....it was great. The portion size was pretty fair value at $13. Like I said we could have just split it between us. Very hit or miss flavors leaves this at a 3-stars for me. But no doubt some of the nicest folks in town work here.

On the way back to DFW from College Station we stopped at Sam's on Sunday, 3/8. I was so glad we…read moredid!! This place has an absolutely amazing lunch buffet! The salad stuff was fresh and the dressings were all good. On the hot side of the buffet they had chicken friend steak, ham, turkey and dressings, bbq brisket and friend chicken. Everything was excellent! The sides were all great. I imagine their homemade pies are amazing but I was too full to try any of them! I will 100% be back anytime I am nearby!!!

My dad has been coming here for years, I believe this was my first time…read more My dad went for the buffet, and I ordered a la carte. First, the service was excellent, I believe our server was named Presley. Very kind, always checking on us and keeping our water and tea full. On the buffet, my dad enjoyed the salad he had, but was surprised at the little variety offered that day. He said last time he was there with my brother there was more to choose from. He then got the fried chicken, which was greasy and barely any chicken on the thigh. I tried to find a drumstick but it was just breasts, thighs and a few wings. He did like the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. As for the fried okra, you have to eat it fresh. It is sitting under a heat lamp just makes it soggy and slimy. I ordered 4 vegetables a la carte which came out to be as much as the all you can eat buffet. First, their onion rings are OUTSTANDING! So is their homemade ranch. What was disappointing was the green beans, they definitely came out of a can and were heated. At $3.99 I expected fresh. There may have been a small piece of onion in it. Not sure if that was how it was cooked or if it fell in from another dish. The black-eyed peas were tasty. I also had a cup of the chicken corn chowder which was good. However, there was pieces of cubed chicken in it which also made me think that it was a prepackaged soup and not homemade. My dad got the coconut cream pie, which tasted good, but could have used more coconut then just on the top. He wanted bread pudding or peach cobbler, however at the time of day we were there, they had been picked over way too much, not leaving much for anyone else to enjoy. I did like the selections in the gift shop and purchased a tea towel before we left. I always like to try a place 3 times so I may stop in and try something else. Again, great customer service.
