For the craziness this location sees, from traffic to people, they do a very good job keeping spirits high, turning tables, and providing solid food. Our server Grace was pleasant from start to finish, and the kitchen was quick with our orders. I went with an omelet and it tasted fantastic - the food in my experience doesn't disappoint and is consistent. The floor is usually a bit sticky, but with all the foot traffic I imagine it can be difficult to keep it constantly cleaned without being a slip hazard. This visit I did notice (we were placed in the corner) that they are storing items in front of the emergency exit which is not good from a safety perspective. I understand they are limited space but I'm pretty sure that this is not something the fire marshall would approve of. When I think of Dennys I think of consistent decent food. Last night was a true test. I visited this establishment around 11 pm. They were busy. The servers were not happy to be there. One was clearly exasperated. I waited to be acknowledged for at least five minutes. Once I was sat it took awhile to be waited on. I ordered the grilled cheese with soup, house salad and iced tea. The tea was funky tasting it was like a cross between sweet and unsweet tea with a hint of old tea in there.i got water. My soup and sandwich came out. My soup was once step above cold. It wasn't even warm and my sandwich the cheese wasn't melted. My salad came out fine. The restaurant was loud but that is to be expected. Came in very late night to a very quiet but warm dining room. The crew was in the middle of cleaning and training but still took the time to check in on me often. There was a very small issue at one point that was outside of the serving staffs control, but the moment it was noted the wait staff went above and beyond to correct the issue to the best of their ability. I visited Dennys for dinner, which is obviously not their forte so I didn't have high expectations going in. This being said, I could've never anticipated such a terrible experience. One of our T-bone steaks had to be sent back three times, and even then, it still came out overdone, gray, tough, and dry. I cannot believe we were still charged full price for something that was never right. Two people in our group ordered medium-rare sirloins. One came out still mooing, (looked like it was just painted brown on the outside bc it looked fresh out the packet red in the middle), the other was completely well done. No consistency at all from the kitchen. Every single order of hash browns at the table was either burnt to a crisp or basically raw in the middle. I might've been a bit more gracious in this review if it was busy or another reason for the low quality food, but it was almost empty in there. Clearly, for good reason. This was my worst meal during my stay in Orlando. It was just meh! I remembered Denny's used to have really good breakfast for cheap but those days are long gone. I had the Fit Slam but changed the egg whites to regular eggs. The scrambled eggs were too runny and watery. Not sure if this was caused by the spinach and grape tomatoes but it was small and didn't taste like much. Two pieces of turkey bacon was easily forgotten. A fruit salad had several grapes with black tops! Oh no! Serving customers rotting grapes is a no-no. This breakfast cost me $21 plus. Ugh! Why can a customer not count on consistency with these places? My family had a split vacation between Tampa and Orlando over the past week and ate at Denny's in both areas. The Tampa location had top notch service and food, while this one left much to be desired. Upon arrival we were seated promptly and the server, Destiny, took our order without writing it down, which was great; however, the food was the worst we have ever had! My wife's pancakes were chewy and my son's toast was barely toasted. As for me, I ordered the Moons Over My Hammy with fries. As you can see by the picture, the sandwich was lacking in eggs and everything was just thrown on, which was reminiscent of gas station ham and cheese sandwiches where they stack everything at the front to make it look as if you are getting more meat than you actually are. The fries were very cold and overcooked and probably sat in the window a while. This was not as disturbing as the female servers conducting side transactions with a shady character selling items, probably stolen, out of his backpack and all the while customers were waiting to be seated. It seemed as if the waitresses were in charge and didn't appear to have a manager to check on things, but if they were there then all I can say is it's time for new management. We came in to get breakfast we eat at Denys regularly while on vacation sorta of a family tradition(until today last visit) we got on the list my wife set in an empty couch that Denys provided we did not bring our own couch. The guys started to yell at us my wife was confused he yelled louder we need to wait outside. By the way was 94 degrees outside. Many empty seats in restaurant 94 degrees an empty couch they provide for people waiting and he yells not ask us politely no he yells. So me and my family of 6 left feeling humiliated for a rule we did not know existed for a place we have been visiting on vacation for years. We eat at least 5 times a week on vacation and monthly at home 6 meals (family of 6) u do the math. No reason for the guy to go off and be so rude.
