The size of the bacon and sausage compared to the menu item..
Sarah D.

I grew up coming to this Denny's. This was the first time I have eaten here in over 10+ years and sadly, was not a great experience. We came on a Saturday during the heat wave, the so saving grace was the VERY cold air conditioning. The remodel looked very nice and clean. However, when we sat down, the table was still dirty from previous guests and the host quickly rushed to wipe everything down. We ordered a water and a strawberry lemonade. The lemonade was a little too sweet for me (my boyfriend ordered it), but the water tasted DISGUSTING. Not sure if it was tap? But I was quite shocked at how undrinkable the water was. It was pretty busy when we went for brunch, so service was slower. We ordered a All American Slam with EXTRA crispy hashbrowns (NOT crispy whatsoever), and the size of the bacon and sausage compared to the image was disappointing. I know that marketing images do not look like the actual meal, but we were shocked. Lastly, there was a hair on my Moons Over My Hammy sandwich as soon as they brought it out. I have not taken a bite out of it, but I feared that they would just remove the hair and bring back the same dish instead of make a whole new one. Overall, this was not a great experience.

Would often take my mom here for brunch when she was previously local to this Denny's location. Parking in the disability spaces was often easy peasy as there were several. Shout out to Angie who often served us many times. She was always smiling, attentive, and kind even when they were very busy. Can't go wrong with the AARP discount if you have it. There was the 55+ menu that my mom would sometime order from but her favorite became the half order of nachos. I'm a fan of chips and dip so with the ground beef, cheese, peppers, tomatoes, and sour cream, it's good! Had the everyday slams for 6.99 many times as well-- also can't go wrong w/a basic breakfast. We were also good with the decaf coffee. This location can get pretty busy that they overlook things like a piece of scrambled egg on a chair. Mom is living in the South Bay now so we likely won't return to this Denny's location. We are thankful for many good visits there. 3.5 stars is more accurate but not quite a 4.

Jean, the customer service machine!!

I haven't visited a Denny's in years. Here in my own city, I was pleased to see how bright the place is. The Norwalk sign inside was bright and the decor was on point. What really made our visit enjoyable was a bright lady named Jean. She was high energy and appears to really enjoy her job. She was attentive and took great pride in her job. The food was good and fresh. Carlos the Manager was also very engaged. We will definitely be back!

Dirty glasses

System was down. Waited over 45 minutes for the most basic items.. both our water glasses were filthy.. the girl in the front seemed lost with an attitude. We were given expired coupons for the inconvenience. Should've gone to Norms /.\

One of the worst food: the chicken was deep fried but coins nit cut not could chew: the bread and a salad was all soggy : Asked the waiters if this was their standard all she said sorry we will give you discount: we did not come for any discount: horrible food horrible service Please this is not the same place that was( years ago

We waited more than a hour for our food. I got a club sandwich but it had a hair on it, I'm a little disappointed.

It's a true retro LA diner in the best sense of it, and that's one of my favorite parts of eating in a place like this. They have a long counter where you can sit, or you can do the traditional booth. Our server was very polite, and everything that we ordered came out lightning fast. There also is a large free parking lot attached, so parking was really easy. They have a very large menu, and pricing is extremely fair. We started off with a Cinnamon Roll and it was absolutely giant. It was not your traditional folded cinnamon roll. It was almost flaky and in layers. It was very unique, but I enjoyed it very much. I followed up with Chili Cheese Omelette, and I added chorizo, avocado, and American cheese, and it was the perfect combo. I would love if they named it after me and put it on the menu! I honestly already plan to come back down again soon just to order the same exact thing. Definitely one of the best diners in South LA, and I would highly recommend to anyone.

It has your sweet pancakes and French toast from the griddle, as well as savory delights. Breakfast is also served all day! :) They specialize in pastries, such as bread and muffins that are made fresh daily! You can smell the sweetness in the air when you walk in. What caught my eye on their menu was the Mexican favorites dishes, I ordered the Menudo and it was delicious! I loved the warm, flavorful stew with the tripe, hominy, and meat. I also appreciated that it was cut in small pieces so each bite had all of the essentials on my spoon! So yummy! Service: All of the staff were friendly and our orders came out perfectly. All in all I enjoyed dinner at Heritage Family Pantry! I can't wait for my next visit!

Everyone is genuinely friendly, the service is excellent, and the warm, comfortable atmosphere makes it a great place to enjoy a meal. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert, everything on the menu is delicious. The strawberry waffles are incredible, topped with fresh strawberries and the creamiest whipped cream. Their breakfast burritos are always fresh and filling, and the chilaquiles are another favorite that never disappoints. Dinner is just as amazing. My favorite is the turkey dinner with stuffing--it tastes just like a homemade Thanksgiving meal. The sandwiches are also excellent for lunch, and no visit is complete without dessert. They have some of the best pies in all of Los Angeles. The strawberry pie is my absolute favorite, and when peach pie comes into season in July, I make sure to get one before it's gone because it's that good. Great food, wonderful people, and a welcoming family atmosphere are why I keep coming back week after week.

We dined on a Saturday for dinner and the food was mediocre and the service was bad. Our server was friendly but messed up a lot, starting with never bringing our soda order at all. When the food came, my BLT sandwich was slapped together messily, had one unripe tomato, and when I asked for cheese to be added, was told they don't have cheddar cheese slices. What kind of restaurant doesn't have cheddar cheese?! My friend's meatloaf tasted like cafeteria mystery meat and while the mushroom gravy was tasty, the meatloaf didn't have any tomato sauce topping or flavor which is my favorite part. We both ordered pie slices and I got the fresh peach pie at the waitress' recommendation. The pie came out and looked pretty but when I took a bite of a peach slice, it was hard and completely unripe and sour! They had literally just sliced up some hard peaches, threw them in a crust and drizzled a sugary syrup over it. And this pie is the most expensive slice at $9! I explained the issue and politely asked to switch for a different flavor of pie and was reluctantly accommodated. The worst part was when the bill came, it was just numbers typed on a receipt, and the server tried to charge us for the soda she never brought. We mentioned it and she apologized and brought a new paper receipt with more numbers but no explanation. I looked closer and noticed there was an extra charge of $7.99 on the bill so we had to ask the server a second time about the bill. She said it was a mistake and should have been $1.99 and not $7.99 but blamed it on their cash register buttons. That could have been true but it sounded fishy. The fact that she tried to overcharge us by sneaking $11 worth of items onto the bill like we wouldn't notice didn't sit well with us and we will not return. There are way too many good restaurants in the area with better food where you won't have to worry about being cheated when the bill comes!

I've been to Off Street Cafe twice for brunch. This restaurant is always busy during the weekend,…read moreso we always have to put our names on the waitlist. Luckily, both times, the wait was quicker than expected and we were seated promptly. The food is typical brunch food, but it is high quality, especially considering how quick the service is. Here is a good mix of savory, sweet, and healthy options for any craving. During our last visit, my sister and I really enjoyed the Tuna Melt and the banana pancakes. The best part? The prices are fair for the portion of food that you get! Was fun to watch the hustle and bustle (and not-so-hustle of some). But BIG note for the manager/owner (and others who are concerned about it), almost ALL the FOH staff was chewing gum while working which is not just a health code violation but also just gross. Hopefully this gets addressed soon. I'll note, my server didn't check on us a single time. We were out of water and coffee by the time our check was dropped off. I will say, facing the back, I did see her (and other staff) go to the back and chew their gum, touch their phones, and drink their drinks without washing their hands and coming back up front (also a health violation, btw). As I mentioned, I've had good service in the past so I'm leaving it at 4-stars.
