Breakfast is also served all day! :) They specialize in pastries, such as bread and muffins that are made fresh daily! You can smell the sweetness in the air when you walk in. What caught my eye on their menu was the Mexican favorites dishes, I ordered the Menudo and it was delicious! I loved the warm, flavorful stew with the tripe, hominy, and meat. I also appreciated that it was cut in small pieces so each bite had all of the essentials on my spoon! So yummy! Service: All of the staff were friendly and our orders came out perfectly. Everyone is genuinely friendly, the service is excellent, and the warm, comfortable atmosphere makes it a great place to enjoy a meal. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert, everything on the menu is delicious. The strawberry waffles are incredible, topped with fresh strawberries and the creamiest whipped cream. Their breakfast burritos are always fresh and filling, and the chilaquiles are another favorite that never disappoints. Dinner is just as amazing. My favorite is the turkey dinner with stuffing--it tastes just like a homemade Thanksgiving meal. The sandwiches are also excellent for lunch, and no visit is complete without dessert. They have some of the best pies in all of Los Angeles. The strawberry pie is my absolute favorite, and when peach pie comes into season in July, I make sure to get one before it's gone because it's that good. Great food, wonderful people, and a welcoming family atmosphere are why I keep coming back week after week.

We dined on a Saturday for dinner and the food was mediocre and the service was bad. Our server was friendly but messed up a lot, starting with never bringing our soda order at all. When the food came, my BLT sandwich was slapped together messily, had one unripe tomato, and when I asked for cheese to be added, was told they don't have cheddar cheese slices. What kind of restaurant doesn't have cheddar cheese?! My friend's meatloaf tasted like cafeteria mystery meat and while the mushroom gravy was tasty, the meatloaf didn't have any tomato sauce topping or flavor which is my favorite part. We both ordered pie slices and I got the fresh peach pie at the waitress' recommendation. The pie came out and looked pretty but when I took a bite of a peach slice, it was hard and completely unripe and sour! They had literally just sliced up some hard peaches, threw them in a crust and drizzled a sugary syrup over it. And this pie is the most expensive slice at $9! I explained the issue and politely asked to switch for a different flavor of pie and was reluctantly accommodated. The worst part was when the bill came, it was just numbers typed on a receipt, and the server tried to charge us for the soda she never brought. We mentioned it and she apologized and brought a new paper receipt with more numbers but no explanation. I looked closer and noticed there was an extra charge of $7.99 on the bill so we had to ask the server a second time about the bill. She said it was a mistake and should have been $1.99 and not $7.99 but blamed it on their cash register buttons. That could have been true but it sounded fishy. The fact that she tried to overcharge us by sneaking $11 worth of items onto the bill like we wouldn't notice didn't sit well with us and we will not return. There are way too many good restaurants in the area with better food where you won't have to worry about being cheated when the bill comes!

The prices are fair for the portion of food that you get! Was fun to watch the hustle and bustle (and not-so-hustle of some). But BIG note for the manager/owner (and others who are concerned about it), almost ALL the FOH staff was chewing gum while working which is not just a health code violation but also just gross. Hopefully this gets addressed soon. I'll note, my server didn't check on us a single time. We were out of water and coffee by the time our check was dropped off. I will say, facing the back, I did see her (and other staff) go to the back and chew their gum, touch their phones, and drink their drinks without washing their hands and coming back up front (also a health violation, btw). As I mentioned, I've had good service in the past so I'm leaving it at 4-stars.

I ordered the #77 combo, which comes loaded with two eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, and hash browns. The standout on the plate was easily the hash browns; they nailed the texture with a crisp, golden crunch on the outside without being overly greasy. The biscuits and gravy were pretty good...a little more flavor would have put them up there with the hashbrowns/ The total came to $17 (including a $5 tip), which is great everyday value for the portion size. Since it was quiet when I stopped by, service was prompt and attentive throughout. The burger tasted great, the beef having a good flavor and the potato bun being pillowy soft and doing a nice job of holding everything in place. Nevertheless, it was rather small for the price. We didn't find the chili cheese fries very appealing. They consist of crinkle-cut fries which are just topped with cheddar cheese and chili. Although the crinkle-cut was a novel feature, the chili itself was rather ordinary, neither distinct nor memorable. Considering the portion sizes and the amount of the check, the value we got wasn't really there. The burger has good flavor, but if you're eating because you're hungry and expecting a large meal, you should consider the size and price.
