This Denny's was the best Denny's I ever been to. I had an issue with DoorDash and they did have to give me store credit but they did . Basically gave me a free me because DoorDash wasn't doing it . This dennys is pathatic.....the service was horrible..And may I say the waiters are not far behind they don't know there own menu what so ever ..they ran out of season fries and the waiter kept offering the customers and returning to the table telling them they had ran out .... My husband order the.veggi burger combo. The fries were cold there was no spread and hardly any spinach or mushroom..my daughter got the pancakes with eggs also very cold ..Aw for me I got the western cheese burger there was no sauce the meat was not cooked all the way and the cheese was not even melted..the waiter would forget our drinks and we didn't.get any napkins till the very end ..and one last thing we hoped that desert would be better a total fail..we orders the red velvet hush puppies (the $2 deal) and they gave us the regular hush puppies so they had to take it back 10 min later she comes.with the right order but it was SOo nasty that the red velvet things were not even cooked all the way we cut into it and all the batter came out .. plan out nasty ..and they have the nerve to say why aren't we tipping .. bad all around read more

My family and I went to Denny's here at this location in Montebello for Father's Day this year. The staff at the door were all polite, respectful and professional. However, our server by the name "Jessica" was not professional at all. Came with the wrong attitude completely unpleasant. I understand that it was a busy day as well as stressful but her attitude towards my family was unfair. Two times I asked politely for the drink I ordered and she never brought it . I asked for a fork an spoon for my toddler , she never brought that either . When we were ordering she would use words like " ósea obvio..." . My mom who has been going every Sunday to Denny's there every morning always ordered the same thing and this server just seemed defensive and clueless to the order that my mom was asking for which was and kept saying " ok idk I'm just ganna put what your telling me if they don't bring your order that you usually get that's your problem " while making hand gestures that were completely unnecessary. Just completely had the wrong attitude in the way that she talked to us . She did not deserve a tip for being so rude and problematic but we still left a tip because we always do. I'm not the type to complain but what I have experienced was not professional. I called the restaurant to only ask a question regarding the amount of time of wait for a party of 6. The person who answered the phone was a girl name lily, the first time I called she repeatedly said "hello""hello""hello" acting like she couldn't hear me then hung up without giving me the moment to speak. Then I went ahead and called again lily picked up the phone and I asked to speak with a manger then she replied with "yes give me a moment " in a nervous shaking tone then she had me in pause for 30minutes!!! I am here at the moment , my friend ordered a guacamole burger but only to find out they don't have any avocado so she ordered another burger with no pickles. Maybe coming from Europe my bar was already set unrealistically high given that this was a fast food joint/diner, but trying Denny's for the first time, I have got to say that I don't really believe that the food here is really food. I'm not sure whether it's the poor quality of the basic ingredients, or whether the food here as some weird additives/chemicals added. I came here with my partner's family; it's a large family so they just wanted somewhere where service was quick and food unpretentious to suit kids. I'm a vegetarian so got a black coffee and 2 buttermilk pancakes, I asked for fruit on the side. The coffee was fine given that it was filter coffee, but the fruit tasted like it had been washed with detergent and refrigerated for a long time. The pancakes were so salty tasting it was unreal, but also tasted like they had some weird chemicals in them. When they got cold it was noticable. The so-called butter was just a pile of trans-fat, which is illegal to produce in the EU. Of course the maple syrup wasn't real maple syrup--it probably contained high fructose corn syrup, another really unhealthy source of sugar. Why not use real sugar? In this branch's favour, the waitresses were very fast and efficient given the poor wages in the US, reading over some reviews, I think people should be less harsh on American serving staff who work harder than most people in the country. I'm appalled that the food here is considered by the US as fit for human consumption. Go to Europe or most parts of Asia and people would be seriously disgusted by the chemicals in American food. I'm not sure whether it's because these are cheap or there is lobbying, but please don't eat this if you want to live a long and healthy life! In California there are much healthier, tastier options; it's actually cheaper to go have pancakes in the Wholefoods Market in Pasadena. read more

I didn't see much difference compared to any other Denny's that I've been to. They pretty much have their food down to a science. The one thing that I CAN comment on is the service. Probably one of the Denny's with better service. Coffee and drinks were refilled at a good rate. Food was served fairly quick considering the restaurant was completely packed on a Saturday morning. Overall, it's like any other Denny's you've been to. Tip: Get the pumpkin pancakes if they're available. Might be a seasonal thing or a one-time thing promoting the Hobbit movie. read more

I was treated unfairly....i used to go there for study with friends in the midnight. Drinking free refill coffee always. While we r studying, one of waiters told us to move a seat in the back. because we r taking popular seats n only order coffee not food. He said other customers want that seat! Every time I come here the service is terrible. They never check up on you and it's almost impossible to get their attention. And when you get their attention they still take twenty minutes or longer to give you even the simplest thing like a refill. Every time I come there's never a large amount of customers, right now there is only our table of three and two other tables. I typically like going to this Denny's, somehow the past week I had terrible service. The waiter needed to sit down in order to take our order. She also laughed when we told her we needed more time. She kept asking us over and over how we wanted our order. I just thought is this a joke? are we on boiling points? where are the cameras? I understand that it's late but she kept complaining how tired she was. IT was very unprofessional on her behalf. I honestly felt like getting up and leaving, but we were really hungry. I hope this waiter gets a little more training, it was the night shift, I think she was a new girl. No one refilled our drinks either, but the 3 waiters and witnesses who were on duty did sing happy birthday to an employee. When I said no I was not interested in perusing a case, she offered me a Denny's gift card. Lol a few weeks later, I received a $30 gift card. At first i thought it might have been some roast beef, but the consistency of what I found was much too fine grained. This Denny's has been around for years. I stopped in with a friend for a quick cup of coffee. We ended up having early midnight breakfast, lol ... Coffee and pie was decent. It was busy even at this time of night. Free wifi is a perk. Servers were friendly and there was plenty of parking. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean and I most likely would come back again for some coffee and pie when I need to have a quick meeting on the go when im near by. There was a lot of energy from the workers when me and my family walked in this Sunday morning. It was nicely decorated with a holiday theme. The place was clean and the place seemed organized. I noticed that they had a good relationship with an elderly couple which was awesome to see. I wish I had gotten my waitresses name because she was friendly with my child and very attentive.
