Maybe I came in on a bad night.. It's graduation season, me coming from midtown to visit family, I guess I was hoping for familiar service. Like drinks as soon as the order is placed, let alone before the appetizers. Granted it was a Monday night and maybe they weren't expecting a crowd of 15 to show up. Took 20 minutes to get some waters. I ordered a Dr Pepper 3 different times(first time the waiter wrote it down), by the fourth time they asked again, I didn't want it anymore. It's cool though. Kind of lost my appetite after the wait, but I'll deal. Some decent courtesy would be nice, but it seemed more reserved for others than my table. We just get ignored and checked when confirming asked questions. No one asked if the table was ok, but that's me having higher expectations. All good tho, just happy to see my family atp.. My wife had order the grand slam special for breakfast. She ordered cheese eggs, sausage, bacon with grain pancakes. I picked up the order. When I entered the restaurant the staff were very polite and helpful. I showed them my wife order and they brought it out. The bacon, sausage were cooked to perfection and very delicious. Great experience which has changed over the last few times / visit. We ordered take out and ordered in advance both ordered grand slams with hearty pancakes and eggs with cheese and mixed meat. Other people cane in after us and got their order tooken and had more people in their party. Manager was rude didn't apologize gave half attention and walked off. Hi. My husband and I came here today for Veterans day. I ordered the apple & caramel pancakes. What I got was NOTHING compared to what it looked like on the menu! I got 2 pancakes with a scoop of baked apples and apple crumble when the menu picture displayed caramel drizzle over the pancakes, more than a scoop of apples and the pancakes just looked better than what I got! First thing is that the guy pointed us to the direction of the table and we had to seat ourselves. I ordered the Denver Omelette and they brought out a ham and cheese omelette. It has an unmelted slice of Swiss cheese on it. I alerted the waitress and she brought the correct omelette. The Denver Omelette was made with cheese whiz or processed cheese product instead of shredded cheddar. The food was all subpar. My 11 year old grandson said his chicken sandwich was not good and McDonald's was better. They also served soda from unclean lines. The coke tasted bad. And the waitress dropped all our food off at one in of the table. She refused to hand food to each individual. Paid $114 for bad food and bad service. Never again! read more

Excellent location, food is awesome. BUT like any other fast food or restaurant if you place an order to go, ALWAYS check the bag before driving home. Placed an order today, they forgot my Grand Slam so I drove back and THEY FORGOT MY GRAND SLAM AGAIN. Kinda funny because they replicated the food on the order which they hadn't forgotten, but forgot the same item. Silly me for not checking the bag, although I shouldn't have to. The employees at this location need customer service training or the restaurant just needs new staff. The quality in care here was terrible. Servers consistently ignored their tables, rolled their eyes, and spoke loudly and negatively of their customers to each other out in the open. The last I checked- we were paying to dine at an establishment that welcomed us and treated us kindly, not at all like what we experienced at this place. Also, both men and women's restrooms were disgusting. Trash and dirty water all over the floors right where you walk in and all the way to the bathroom stalls. You could easily slip and hurt yourself with how wet and nasty their floors were. If the state of their restrooms didn't indicate how abhorrent this Denny's is then the sorry excuse of a waitstaff will surely deter you from ever visiting them again! Go visit a different diner at your next stop if you want good service. You've been warned. read more

It's terrible when you sit in an establishment near the kitchen and you can only hear the waitstaff talking mad trash about other employees. What looked like the manager was the ringleader of the group boasting about how he made an employee cry. The one star is for the decent food cooked, but I was a little worried when I saw the cook out back smoking a cigarette and didn't wash their hands. I haven't been to a Denny's in years, but after a late night nothing else was open. What a great experience. Staff was very friendly and the food was very good. Three of us ordered chicken fried steak, which was cooked perfectly. My husband said his scrambled eggs were excellent. My picky 11-year-old daughter ordered mixed fruit pancakes and said they were "amazing." There aren't a whole lot of restaurant options for breakfast in the Acampo/Galt area. Elk Grove Dennys is very good. The waitress was excellent. We were there at 2 pm, and my husband had the most delicious hot cakes, he can't stop raving I enjoyed my salmon for 55+ folks. When I first came in I was greeted by a very enthusiastic server Jessica. She was running the floor like a pro! I have some food allergies and she did a great job of communicating everything to the kitchen. My order definitely had some modifications but Jessica was able to relay everything to the kitchen perfectly .One of the cooks, Kelly, even came out of the kitchen to confirm my food allergies. Moving onto the food from the kitchen, the cooks Evencio and Kelly, worked so well as a team. It felt like they were putting out food as soon as they would get the tickets! And when my burger came out it was juicy and flavorful, everything was cooked just right! And the modifications were perfect too! Every position in this diner has their own superstars, and the busser position. Alberto made sure there was no dirty table in the entire diner. Furthermore, the floors were clean and the restroom was fully stocked with the amenities I needed. Finally the manager Jacob was a four man show. Cooking, hosting, bussing, and even serving. He can do it all! He really made it feel like I was at home as opposed to a diner. He was always sure to ask everyone how they were doing. Everyone! Jacob seemed to never stop moving. This place has gone down hill as far as portion size goes. They barely give you any potatoes with breakfast and every time I order the prime philly melt, it barely has any meat or toppings inside. It's become ridiculous. Most of the waitresses are rude and act like whenever something on your order is wrong that it's your fault. Even though they repeated the order correctly, they still manage to mess it up and god forbid you complain about it.
