The food tasted good. We ordered a mixture of boneless wings, burger, salad, fries and tacos. The service was the reason for the three stars. We waited at the hostess stand for at least 3 minutes before any staff came out of the back kitchen to help us, just to tell us we could sit anywhere. No menus were brought to us, so we went back to the hostess stand to get our own menus. After another 5 minute wait our server asked us if we were ready for drinks and of course we placed our order then. One entree came out before the appetizers, it was just a cluster of food coming out at different times. The two servers were not attentive to any of the customers on our side of the room. We wanted ketchup for our fries, but we ate most of them before we could even ask. When we were obviously done eating our food for over 10 minutes a different server asked us if we needed anything and we asked for a box and check, which she brought out quickly. My first visit to Papas and Wings left me feeling full and refreshed. I came in on a hot day and the bartender poured me a big glass of ice water right away. That and some AC were just what I needed bring down my body temperature. I would have stayed and soaked in that cool air all afternoon if I didn't have to get back work. I ordered the sausage sandwich with tater tots for $13.99. It was a great price for such a large sandwich and big serving of tots. My sandwich was hot, juicy, and tasted great. The only problem I had, was it hard to eat. I had to cut it in half just to manage it. My tots were cooked to a nice crunchy texture, and golden brown. They came with a delicious ranch sauce, and plenty of it. There was so much food, I couldn't eat it all. The restaurant is casual, and has a friendly staff. There's a lounge next door with some fun murals on the walls. This is definitely one I'd visit again. read more

My daughter was craving a pretzel and this is one of the few places around that has them so we decided to give it a try. We also ordered The mac & cheese bites and barbecue, garlic/Parmesan, and buffalo chicken wings. Pretzel was large, warm, and very good. It came with dipping sauce that unfortunately opened in the container, but it worked out. The wings were excellent, particularly the garlic/Parmesan. The only thing I would change is the next time we order, we would ask for light on the barbecue sauce because they were drenched with way too much. The mac & cheese bites were OK. We order from here at least two times a month. Big orders for our crew at work. It was AMAZING!! in the beginning, however it has slowly gone down hill. The orders are wrong, some completely different than ordered and some with missing items ect. Today the call in process took 30 minutes on the phone due to the worker having to ask someone several different questions about the order, to which there were very few adjustments to menu items. This place has the worst service. The waitress was not friendly and was horrible when taking our order. I catch her rolling her eyes when we have a question about the menu. My husband ordered a Bloody Mary, and we can see that the drink has been made, but the waitress doesn't seem to remember it until I point to it and ask if that was our drink. Moreover, we waited over 10 minutes before they took our order when the restaurant was not even busy, and three waitresses were working. We live in Galt and would love to eat and shop local and support local businesses, but so far, we have experienced nothing but bad service and discrimination. Service is terrible and so is the food. Greeted & seated immediately. Before we even had both butt cheeks on the chair, we were asked if we were ready to order. Having been our first time here, I would have liked to view the menu a little longer but I did know I wanted wings. After placing our order the appetizers arrived within minutes and left for us with no utensils or plates until we got up and asked for some. The wings are way overcooked, so overly fried you have to pry the meat off the bone and you can't tell the difference between the BBQ or the teriyaki pineapple. Waitress never returned to offer us our bill, hostess had to do it. Also, way too much chit chat near the corner of the bar between the waitresses/employees. I think they are more concerned about their own conversations than they are serving their customers. I actually get better wings at the local pizza shop. It's very hard to shop local when local isn't even trying to provide the same quality food and service that restaurants small and large outside of town offers. I'd rather spend the gas and drive out of town then return here. Perhaps some mature management should be on site managing, overseeing, coaching and training this young staff that has no idea what customer service looks like. read more

This seems to be the only place to get wings in Galt! All the 5 star reviews seem to mainly be about everything other than the wings. The first time we got this was around October of 2022 and they weren't bad! We were excited to have a wing spot close by. But since then it just seems like they dont care? I go to pick up the order and it just seems like the staff there are waiting for the other person to help me. And when they do its just like "here." I cant say much more about staff though because I havent dined in! But the wings? They are tiiiny! And if you get more than one sauce, they drench it all in one plastic container. So all your sauces get mixed and the chicken gets all weird soaking in the sauce. Since the chicken is tiny it gets overcooked which makes it dry! Once again, we have had great wings here before! Looking for something new in town to try, my wife and I stopped in to Papas and Wings one chilly Friday during the baseball playoffs. We were greeted warmly upon walking in and told we could sit anywhere we wanted. We opted for the booth like seats near the back with myself taking the bar stool opposite my wife. The music was loud but not too loud and playing all the right jams with a mix of 80s and current hits. Our waitress took some time to present herself but she was nice and friendly. She made some recommendations upon our request after letting her know it was our first visit. We ordered a sampler of the Papas, Wings, and Sauces. We went with Battered Fries, Mozzarella Sticks, and the boneless wings. Sweet Chili Pepper, Chipotle, Hot Flame Rub, and Ranch were our sauces. What seemed another long wait for our food was just that, another long wait. We also split the Cheesesteak Sandwich which came with the proper cheese, the Whiz. The Cheesesteak Sandwich was definitely above average and tasty. The wings were good with the sauces pretty good. The Hot Flame Rub was indeed hot! My nose was runny while eating that. In the end, we loved the Sweet Chili Pepper sauce the best. The Mozzarella Sticks were good as well. Overall, we really enjoyed the food and will be back but we will wait until the service improves. We tried a second visit a few weeks after this one and the service just wasn't there. Hopefully we can see this progress to a four-star review soon. read more
