Such delicious fusion food. I always come here for the Katsu Chicken, and the macaroni is out of this world , if you like spicy food, the Huli Huli chicken will be right up your alley, good service and nice interior , fun place to eat , different and clean

Awesome food, comfortable place, parked in front, off the 99. Next to CVS, you can see photos on the wall of their menu items.

We stopped here for a quick lunch on vacation. The food was just ok. Good macaroni salad but the rest of it was nothing special. Not bad, just not special. I'd gotten the mini meal and spam masubi. The masubi's were decent but again, nothing special. I'd go back in a pinch but there are better Hawaiian joints around.

I lived in Galt for a year and a half before trying this place, I now regret that. We eat here on a regular basis, usually we get it to go cause there's not a lot of room. One night I wasn't in the mood to cook dinner but wanted something fairly healthy so I sent my husband to get dinner at Koala. It was love at first bite! My husband has tried almost all the options for meat and has no complaints about any of them. I however am creature of habit and stick with the Koala chicken. Recently I discovered the Huli Huli chicken so I order one of the two or sometimes both. It is also so yummy. The "salad" they give you with whatever the dressing is, is yummy as well. The pasta salad is so good! in fact my husband loves it so much he usually orders extra. Customer service is great, everyone is very friendly. It does take awhile because they cook to order and it is often busy but it is worth the weight. The amount of food you get and the price is very reasonable.

We decided…read moreto give it a visit for some brunch this past weekend and hate to say that I was honestly disappointed. We walked in to a fairly small but busy restaurant thinking it would take a while for a table but to our surprise we were seated quickly. The server was quick to help us and bring us water which is always great but there is one thing that could've been done better. We were just seeing other tables that came after us , getting their food and we had nothing. We didn't really get an update as to what was taking long or where our food was which was the bummer part. They did make up and give us a 10% discount and a free orange juice which was greatly appreciated. So props for that The food wasn't the worst but also it wasn't something that made me think WOW this is good. I usually don't get gravy with my loco mocos and mostly judge off the meat flavor and this one was lacking seasoning. My wife's waffle was just good nothing crazy and the chicken did taste fresh which we most definitely enjoyed. The mango syrup that came with it though wasn't too much of our liking. It tasted mostly like a mango candy syrup mixed with hot sauce. Overall our experience was alright but not the best..... I don't know if I'll make the drive out here to get some "Hawaiian" bites as I do feel there's better spots in Sacramento. Everything is all subjective to experience and ours was just alright.

We ordered a half carafe of POG mimosa and the sliders with avocado to start. They are delicious. The spam they make is soft and tasty. I ordered the Kau Kau benedict and my friend ordered the Mac Nut waffle with Chicken Katsu (it comes with a sriracha mango syrup that is amazing). The benedict was good, but that waffle with katsu chicken was awesome. We want to come back for more brunch and for dinner. The restaurant is small, but has a great laid back atmosphere. I love the decor! I definitely recommend Kau Kau.

Wow, I was so impressed with the uniqueness of this place! Everyone is seated with their own individual hot pot plate to build their own individual hot pot. (Don't worry it does not burn). You choose your basic soup broth, choose the meat you would like, and then start grabbing things off the conveyor belts! It not only is a fun concept, you can get quite creative with how you build your hot pot and choose just the things to your liking. I was amazed that they had very authentic Chinese ingredients to choose from - wood ear, enoki mushrooms, bok choy, different kinds of noodles, fish balls, Napa cabbage, octopus, and lots of different varieties of selfish, plus much much more! I chose the traditional broth and they even had Chinese red dates in it plus wolfberries (sometimes known as Goji berries) in the broth just like what I grew up with The service was just ok, since it was our first time there we had to ask a lady to show us what we were supposed to do. She was helpful, but the servers don't come around very often. That said, the plates and dishes clutter up really fast and they don't come around very often to clear the dishes, for which I would have taken a star off. But my experience there with conveyor belt hot pot was so nice that I'm leaving it at five stars. What I liked best besides the authentic ingredients, is that you can become quite creative to build your own hot pot to your own liking.

Love having my own individual pot and personalizing my broth and spice level. The meat is fresh (1 meat at a time), and the DIY sauce station. Price is reasonable too when you go at lunchtime. Waitress is super nice too.

This Hawaiian French restaurant is something out of LA, San Francisco, or even Honolulu/Waikiki. Such a great brunch spot! The interior decor is like a ruined old-French still quarter building with the visuals of balconies just like Paris. There are even classic vintage French poster prints on the wall with an island touch of plants hanging and the music of Polynesian reggae in the background. The menu is great with lots of items to choose from as well as a wine list. We started with a mimosa carafe with 5 different juice flavors to choose from like mango, strawberry, passionfruit, orange, etc. I ordered their Loco Moco which was good but nothing out of the ordinary. I did love the way they cooked my burger patty (medium), so it had some nice char texture. My friend ordered the garlic shrimp with coconut fried rice. This tasted delicious and very authentic. It was better than some dishes I actually had in Hawaii. The French toast was regular and tasted nothing different than other's I've tried. It was toasted more than the usual to give it some crispy texture in which I loved. Overall, this bistro is phenomenal, and I will definitely take my family here for brunch next time. Their service is quick and very attentive which is important. Even though the place got packed up, the two employees frequently checked on people. I want to try more, and I'll be back soon.

I ordered the chicken and beef combo for under $20 with tax -- which was like a mountain of tender and well seasoned meat with a flavorful cooked vegetable medley and macaroni salad as sides. I really appreciated that the sides were substantial, and not used as filler in exchange for less protein. Hubby loved it and he was the envy of the nurses station, as the aroma of good homestyle food is hard to ignore! And I was so very thankful able to give my husband a great tasting and satisfying meal for his recovery and at a very reasonable price! In the case of hubby, it lasted him for two meals and I could spend more time caring for him :) Thank you Hawaiian BBQ express!
