Although they were short employees, the service was excellent, the food was excellent, it was clean, our server (Richard) was very friendly and very efficient. read more

We were tired, hungry, and on the road to Oceanside. Convenient location from the freeway and our server was super nice. It was 'no meat' Friday...so as good Catholics (we think) we all ordered fish items. I ordered a salmon burger on sourdough with a side of fruit. I'm not usually impressed with food at any Denny's, but dang, my salmon burger and fruit was a frickin' delight! read more

Denny's - Salmon burger on toasted sourdough with a side of fruit. Fruit was freshly cut and grapes were crisp, loved my food! - Diners Near Me - Coalinga, California

First off, this is such a super convenient location! Right off the freeway with tons of parling. Great service everytime I come in, not sure how I always forget to review this location. read more

Do your self a favor and go to eat somewhere else...the restaurant is half empty, and I'm sitting here for over half an hour and still waiting for my simple breakfast. Update: My breakfast finally came after about 35 minutes, and it was the wrong order. read more

This is my second attempt to eat at Dennys post covid. This experience was even worse than the last. I understand being short-handed, but then don't seat people using the entire restaurant. So here's what happened.... Ordered food, including coffee. Food showed up more than 30 minutes later after we made an inquiry. My food was partially warm and some of it (bacon!) was COLD! No one came back to the table to check on us...ever! I saw how crowded it was at the front so I took the bull to the front to pay. 20 minutes later (you read that right), it was my turn. I showed my rewards app for my free birthday breakfast on my phone, then showed my husband's. They days they could not honor them both because the QR code is the same. (Separate phones, separate accounts, birthdays two days apart). After what seemed an eternity they agreed to separate the bill but the codes were the same, so the end game would be the same. We decided to just pay for one of the breakfasts just to get out of there. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE experience and both times were attempts to use the rewards program for our birthdays. First time we ever tried, too. I immediately deleted the app from my phone. I'm disgusted with Dennys! read more

They say it's open 24hrs but we went at 4pm and they locked the doors on us but it's ok the food not good anyway

We arrived at 8 40am on Sat. Had to wait 1 hr 40 mins to get served 1 order of veg omelette and 1 order of banana pancakes. Terrible waiting... A couple of other folks who came after us left , didn't want to wait... Plus after all that wait, the omelette wasn't good at all... The stuffed veggies were sauted, the omelette was a thin layer wrapped around it.... Pretty small serving...not what you get at other Denny's Avoid ... read more

Food and service was horrible. The main dinning room has sewerage smell from restrooms not working. Waitterwas handling everything awhile two female employees stood around talking. I asked them to clean tables bc flies were everywhere. Food was cold and under cooked. Don't stop here to eat. I don't recommend it. read more

My experience here was horrible I get off of my vehicle and I go to the door and it was LOCKED!!! The website shows it was open but the door being locked said otherwise Me and my precious babies have been on the road 30 hours. We were STARVING. All we wanted was some fresh food but we couldn't even get that. To find out what was going on I called them. I asked them if they were open and they said they were currently closedbecause they were waiting on a cook. Whoever that cook was needs to be fired ASAP that is so unprofessional and you will not see me coming back here. read more

the worst dine in experience I've ever had. Go anywhere else, I went in at around 9pm while it was empty with only 1 other family and managed to wait an hour for my food while the other family waited 45 minutes for theirs. waited all that time to get cold food not even cooked correctly, the staff just stood around the corner gossiping ignoring customers read more

Service here was amazing! They're currently understaffed but we were seated promptly and attended to swiftly. Even though it was a busy morning, Franco, our server, was so awesome! Understaffed! 10/24/22 7:00pm one employee working...literally one she was a cashier a server and she was cooking ....

Heading back to Southern California from Northern California we stopped off at 11 pm for some food and to get out of the car and stretch from the long drive. This particular Denny's is hiring and is understaffed, in fact there is a notice to let customers know ahead of time. On shift during our visit was 1 server Mr. Usiel and 1 cook. Since there was an accident and road construction on the 5 SB freeway more and more customers were stopping into this Denny's. Mr. Usiel and the cook did an amazing job on the food. We ordered the double berry pancake breakfast served with 2 eggs, hash browns, one piece of bacon and one sausage, and an order of an all American grand slam breakfast with scrambled eggs well done and bacon crispy. Food came out fast, Mr. Usiel was very attentive and the cook did an awesome job on getting our order just right. They both worked as fast as they could under the stressful circumstances while more and more customers continued to come in for a bite to eat. Hats off to the cook on the double berry pancakes they were delicious!! I should've taken a picture of the blueberry pancakes with fresh cut strawberries, bananas and blueberries. These employees stepped up their game and I will definitely make a stop there the next time I am on the 5 freeway. Also the restaurant was clean and bathrooms were clean and stocked. read more

Surprisingly good salmon fillet with broccoli, zucchini and garlic bread. My wife had a perfectly good veggie omelet.

They took over 30 minutes for them to even take our order, not courteous when first come in, disgusting mashed potatoes (mostly liquid and had little flavor) and when ask to switch it for bread instead they took it and never gave us our replacement, didn't give us our silverware till asked, overall horrible experience. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The restroom was messy and there were flies in the toilets. Waited 20 minutes to order drinks AFTER already being seated. Didn't get drinks until 15 minutes later. After 40 more minutes we hadn't even got the food we ordered. Terrible and careless service. read more

Gabby my server at Coalinga was friendly and service was great!! I was debating wether to stop and eat I'm glad I did

The service Is horrible took an hour and a half to get our food and my omelet did not have toasted bread.DO NOT EAT HERE

If I could give 0 I would, worst service ever! Manager Eva needs to find another occupation, she has a horrible attitude and knows nothing about customer service! She was speaking openly to staff, with a long line of customers waiting, that complaints were being made to her boss, so they needed to seat everyone and TRY to be nice. Then she copped an attitude and was very rude to my husband, the most respectful man ever, so I asked for his money back, which she refused to return! She was lucky my husband was there... needless to say but I do NOT recommend this Denny's. read more

Santa here, Good morning. We have been at this particular Denny's waiting for food for over an hour. We pulled up about 10:15 am. We had just played music in Armona. We do have 51 people. At least half of the customers. However, the manager only put one server on us, when every server should have been on this to get the orders in the system first then handle the rest of the customers. We are getting only one table at a time. He is doing the best he can, I get that. Apparently they sent a server home, ok then the manager gets on an apron and jumps in to help. He may be cooking. Its taken over 1.5 hours to get food and I am on a type schedule. I have a flight to catch. read more

Pretty standard Dennys. No better or worse than most. Easy access off the highway. Unfortunately there didn't appear to be any real diners nearby, so this is probably the best breakfast option. read more

WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER GONE TOO!!!! 1.) Chicken was not cooked correctly it was raw 2.) So much flies flying everywhere and landing on food had to keep airing them out 3.) It was so hot in there felt like a dessert 4.) CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS MAD 5.) didn't want to give a discount I ordered 3 skillets and they didn't even give me a penny of a discount all where raw 6.) racist guy told teammate he didn't want to serve us because he was leaving and other person walked in and served them. 7.) Elizabeth had a mean tone 8.) we called her name didn't respond and went to go tell a fat person that we were complaining about the chicken 9.) didn't want to give us our resipe IM GOING TO CALL THE COMPANY TO GET MY MONEY BACK !!! read more

Our food was out quickly and all orders were correct! We heard other people complaining because it was busy but come on, it's a 24/7 diner on the I-5 on a Friday night. We were perfectly happy. Thank you so much to our server John! Hope the rest of your night is good. read more

We had such an amazing experience at this place. Chris was our host and waiter and he was so wonderful. Both my kids (under 5 yr) are a bit talkative and Chris connected with them so well and entertained all their questions and conversations. My kids wanted to play with the toy vending machine and before we could react , Chris proactively paid two dollars for their game . It was very kind of him. The food was good too. We ordered many items and everything was delicious. It was such a happy experience overall. read more

On a recent road trip I stopped here around 5 pm. My son was crying and hungry and restless. It was dinner time for both of us. I figured that I could have a quick salad and boo boo could have a pancake. Lord if I had known the wait would have been so terrible I would have went to a fast food place. Denny's is a diner and I thought my son would have a good respite from being confined to a car seat. We looked at the ceilings and decorations and we even made friends with the truckers sitting behind us. I still don't know what the explanation was as to why the service was slow. If I had to guess it was because the back kitchen staff said "F-You" to someone and one dude was just back there cooking as fast as he could. Our order took forever to be taken and our food took forever to arrive. I thought my son would have a fun break. My son has a long attention span and this went past his attention. The table next to me ordered Clam Chowder. I just got grossed out about this. Who orders Clam Chowder at a truck stop Denny's? Gross! Once the food finally arrived after almost 40 minutes, we ate it all in about 5 minutes. I only ordered a Grilled Chicken Breast with a side Salad and Pancake for my son. 40 Minutes? What the F? I highly recommend a drive through and play time in your own car next time. read more

Based on the other choices in the area, this was a five star restaurant. But, it's Denny's so i'm going four stars. Everything went fine here. The waitress was nice and efficient, the food was to our liking, the prices are decent. It was a good place to take a break from driving and get some tasty food for lunch. read more

It's in the middle of nowhere-land. Walked in and picked anywhere to sit since it was dead in there (until about dinner time. That's when the whole town walked in). Ismael waited on us and he was an awesome server. Got the Grand Slam with eggs, sausage, bacon, and pancakes. Everything was cooked great. The bacon could have been a little crispier, but the pancakes made up for it. I could cut them with a fork and of course I drenched them in syrup and butter because I was on vacation. Duh! read more

I arrived at the time they were changing shifts for the evening. They were short staffed. The restroom was horrible. (check out the pictures) The staff went in there couple times but no one clean it up. Customers kept coming in. The waitress was very friendly and polite but was inexperienced. Long wait: more than 15 minutes to take order, another 30 minutes for food. My food finally came without the sides. The portion was 50% smaller than the other Denny's. Don't expect your food looks like the picture on the menu. read more

Decided to walk out of this Dennys and not even order . The server forgot my coffee and when she did go back to get it got side tracked at the computer and had her fingers in her mouth rubbing her lips which she did this twice in the process of getting my coffee. We decided at this point it was time to pay for the drinks and leave . The restaurant was filthy and infested with flies. Never again will we be back ! read more

HORRIBLE customer service. No sense of urgency at all. 1 girl was doing everything, serving, seating, cashier.(not a good job either) EVERYONE ELSE WAS SITTING AROUND. We stopped in on the way from the north bay to LA for breakfast. The waitress came to our table twice. To take an order and deliver the food. We had to track her down to let her know the eggs were under cooked... On an order of over hard...like watery undercooked, gross. We had to track her down for the bill, we could obviously see her just hanging out in the kitchen, ask 2 times for a box and then go to the front to get one because she must have forgotten. Smokin and jokin, playing grab ass, shootin the shit, whatever you want to call it. Most of the employees were chatting, drinking soda and just plain not paying any attention to customers needs. Try a different breakfast place in the area if possible. read more

This is definitely one of the nicer Denny's that i've been to. It appeared to be newly renovated and was clean. The downfall would have been the speed of the staff but it was passable. The food is your typical Denny's standard and i wouldn't say any better or any worse. It's cheap, its open late and when you're on the road you can't expect too much else. read more
