We haven't gotten a full dish here, but I always order all the sides to try a little bit of everything. This includes the tri tip, brisket, mac n cheese, potato salad and the corn bread. The meat here is always good - juicy and tender. They always cut off the burnt ends. The Mac n cheese isn't the best, but I get it for the texture. Of the sides, my favorite is the potato salad. It's refreshing and has a nice flavor to it. The corn bread could be hit or miss - sometimes it's a little dry, but more recently it was pretty good. I also get a small cup of coffee for the road. The only downer is they stopped giving bbq sauce for the sides. I guess I should've asked. You also used to be able to pay for your coffee at the same register but now they make you pay for it at separate registers. Overall, I think this place is solid for a pit stop.

I use to work in a small cafe back in the day so working in food service can be trying sometimes. I noticed they have added some menu items and Friday/Saturday dining options as well. Today they had a Monday feature of Tri-Tip Sandwich with either fries or fresh fruit. A free drink was included and I chose lemonade with cucumber and fresh mint. OMG that was delicious. They also had several flavors, strawberry-Hibiscus, strawberry, raspberry, and the cucumber mint lemonade. I chose to dine in and I received my food hot. The fries were perfect. Crispy and not greasy. I chose a hot chipotle ranch & ketchup. Yah, being a vegetarian is hard. I wasn't vegetarian today. I tore up that sandwich and left no crumbs ok maybe the butt end of the roll but that's for Buddha. While waiting I saw the advertisement for Friday night dinners & Saturday Brunch with Mimosas & Micheladas. It's just two staff so go easy on them. They off a 3% discount if you pay in cash. They also accept tap pay. Cool tunes too. Until next time. . .SYOYelp

Looked forward to breakfast and was pleasantly surprised a a very comprehensive menu, I'm glad we made it in time for breakfast because I really enjoyed the corned beef hash and eggs with Pico De Gallo the only way to eat it, even had more meat than potatoes, nicely seasoned. Becca over the top great service! That's everything isn't it, especially these days with higher prices, if I'm going to pay, I hope the service meets the prices. In this case very good overall service. In store and restaurant. I included both menus since they only serve breakfast until a certain time. The outside of the place is cute, the bathrooms are clean, and the shop itself is adorable with a ton of stuff to browse and buy. If you're stopping by, grab a coffee, use the bathroom, check out the shop and then run out of there before ordering breakfast. If you have kids, they do have an outside play area.

The bakery is part of the country store, which sells such random housewares and souvenir-type stuff. They have a chocolate truffle case on one side and the other side, the pastries and desserts. The pastries looked delicious and I got a few to try. They also have bags of day-old cookies for a good price. Eclair 4/5* I'm not a huge fan of eclairs with the soft fudge on top instead of the hardened chocolate. Taste wise though, it was a good eclair. The cream isn't overly sweet and the eclair itself was a light dough. Napoleon 5/5* If there's something Harris bakery does right, it's flaky pastries. Surprisingly, this Napoleon stayed crispy the entire drive home and survive even in the refrigerator the next day. Many others I've had usually get soggy, but these layers of puff pastry stayed crisp to the end of every last bite. The cream was fluffy and not too sweet, and paired perfectly with the ripe strawberries. Banana Cream Pie 3/5* I love anything banana and just had to get it when my eyes landed on the perfect swirl of whip cream covered in chunks of buttery crumbles, atop a neat little mini pie. However, the pie itself was too mushy. The crust was soggy, with the smoothness of the banana cream, soft banana slices, and rich whip cream, everything combined was too much mush. It was also too sweet. I did enjoy the crumble on top though. That was the only saving texture. Strawberry Cream Horn 5/5* Wow these were so unexpectedly delicious! The horn is super flaky and delicate, filled from end to end with a light strawberry cream. On top, bits of dehydrated strawberries were not only beautiful but added a nice tartness and texture, contrasting with the silky cream. This was a great upgrade on your classic cream horn. Chocolate Chip Cookies with Walnuts 3/5* Nothing special. They tasted better the longer they sat out because they were crisper. I prefer my cookies to have sea salt for that good balance of salty and sweet, but these cookies were just one noted. Next time, I have my eyes set on this towering cake they had on the counter and of course, take home some of those yummy cream horns.

They even have an ice cream shop, which is a nice bonus. The place is definitely showing its age, though. It looks pretty run down and about half the games and machines seem to be out of order. It's got a little less "Wild West attraction" and a little more "Wild West went out of business." The beer selection? Let's just say you won't get overwhelmed by choices. Then came the BBQ... somebody needs to check on that tri-tip because that thing was THIRSTY. Dry as hell and not much going on flavor-wise. Bring water for yourself AND the tri-tip. And the coleslaw... WHERE WAS IT?! I opened the container expecting coleslaw and got what looked like a tiny cabbage salad that had lost its will to live. No creaminess, barely any flavor, just a few vegetables having a meeting. The crispy fries actually showed up ready to work. Probably the MVP of the meal. Overall, it's a cool tourist stop with a lot to see, an ice cream shop, and a fun Wild West vibe. Stay for the fries and ice cream--just don't expect all the games to work or the tri-tip to have any moisture left in it.

Restaurant Review:…read more Service is not great. It took us about 15 mins to get water from another person (not our waitress) and a total of 20 mins to get our order taken. We were not in a hurry but our section we saw others seated after in a different section and they got their food more smoothly. The section had larger tables but more communication from the person handling our table would have gone a long wait. From the point being seated, it took an hour to get our meal. We got no dinners rolls and our soup came with our meal. At the point of ordering we asked if the soup could be up-charged from cup to bowl and we were told yes. They instead charge us full price of a bowl instead of it being an up-charge (4 dollars vs 10). This should have been upfront and communicated. Disappointing experience and lot of the staffers were just chit chatting by the coffee station. Food for two adults and kids over 100 dollars was not worth it. We will not be returning. This is not the first time this experience has happened.

We arrived before checking in with our guide and were greeted by Missy. Missy welcomed us in and took our order while we admired the quaint layout of Parkfield Cafe and discussed the coming hunt amongst ourselves. Our beers were served promptly along with ice cold waters and let me tell you something about frosty beers in hot weather after six hours of driving... they hit...they hit good! Although we each ordered different burgers, we were unanimously impressed and satisfied with the quality and every element of our burgers. The side of fries, the meat and the bread were all of top tier ingredients. The burgers were perfectly cooked and presented and had we not inquired about the bread, we would've assumed it to have been baked in house. We found ourselves here a few more times throughout our visit for cold beers and ice and regardless of where we were from, we felt welcomed, served excellently and felt right at home at Parkfield Cafe. Parkfield is a small town, but they afford patrons with outstanding food and service.
