I'm on my way back from Puyallup, Washington and after hitting the road this morning I decided to stop for some convenience store coffee in beautiful Burley, Idaho. I'm going down the street looking for a gas station and I notice a Denny's. I'm currently on vacation and I'm headed back to Ohio. I haven't been in a Denny's in years and I have some very good memories from my teenage years of late nights, early mornings with their patty melts and french dips. I was helped and seated as soon as I walked in. They weren't incredibly busy, but I decided to sit at the counter anyway. The staff overall was very helpful, genuinely kind and pleasant, but not in a fake sort of way. The person who greeted me brought me coffee and water immediately. I checked the menu to see what had changed. The slams still looked delicious so I ordered an All American Slam. With onions, cheese, and country gravy on the potatoes, of course. The food was hot and delicious. Ordering the potatoes loaded is always the right choice as I found out. The eggs weren't runny, nor were they hard. The toast actually melted the butter on them. How can this be a bad thing? I spoke to Amber, the manager and complimented her on her staff and the restaurant. I'm giving them 5 stars and recommending you stop in. I'm also not understanding the vitriol of these poor reviews. Haters gonna hate. Later dudes. Russell read more

What a disgrace this place is. We came in with a group of 7 adults and 2 kids. The girl took our order and she messed it up. I brought it to her attention that my family member did not want gravy on his food. She didnt care much. Lets mentioned that at that time it took over 45 minutes to get some of it on the table. She didnt even appologize. Stared at us like an airhead. Well everyone got their food with something missing besides me. I did not get anything at that point. Well we were seated right where I can see the kitchen and hear what they are talking. Cook goes. well she can have the mashed potatos now we ran out of gravy. Other girl goes be careful she is watching us. Staring with her big eyes. So our server comes by and i ask her why they talking about us and she says she dont know what we talking about. So my cousin tells her she knew what she talking about since she was overthere laughing and if they have nothing to say not to say at all or say it to our face. Well girl takes off and we waiting for our bill. No one coming. So iI called the restaurant to remind them they had guests. I finally go up to pay and ask for a manager. He comes out. I tell him how I never felt more disrespected and he kept on saying ok ok ok ok ok. No appology. That ticked me off and I go. Well no surprise your team acts the way they do. They get it from u. Then he finally appologized. Dennys I know we are immigrants but guess what. We are all american citizens. You are all scumbags. read more

I usually don't write bad reviews but not the greatest Denny's I have been to. They lack customer service and the manager is incompetent. I found a hair in my food and our food took a long time for the amount of people that were there. I mean come on, when you see a lot of people and your food takes longer than usual of course you empathize but this wasn't the case. Please train better! Your restaurant is right on the side of the freeway and you are in a very small rural town. You need the business! read more

Denny's - Chicken fried steak skillet - Diners Near Me - Burley, Idaho

See all

You can pretty much expect all Denny's restaurants to have the same food which is always good. However, at this Denny's you can usually spot the manager Michelle going above and beyond for every customer. She really is personable. I always leave knowing I've got a great friend even if I only ever see her there. read more

I love coming to this Denny's it's my favorite. Food is fresh and tasty service is always great! I wish they could bring back the peanut butter chocolate pancakes and the puppies are so good I order them all the time they're always crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside I love it and always hot read more

Couldn't even get something to drink or an acknowledgement after we were sat. Though the server at the next table was able to catch the ladies sitting there about his life. Glad he's able to live in his parent's guest house. That helps cut costs when people don't tip because of poor service. read more

We were seated quickly, by our waitress, and drinks were brought quickly. Waitress was helpful, friendly and courteous while we ordered our food. Food was hot, tasty and came reasonably quick. Waitress came and checked on us to see if the food tasted good, and often to see if we needed anything else. When we were finished eating, we went up to the register to pay, and it was our waitress who took care of us. I smilingly told her to "tell her manager that we had a good waitress!" She thanked us and said, "I am the manager." We again complimented both she and her staff on the service and food. After acquiring her name, we thanked Queana Grant and left, fully content with our experience! Since Burley is our home, we eat at Denny's fairly often and hey, sometimes they are swamped with people. And, like many establishments in these times we live, help is hard to find and keep--they're not trainable, don't want to work hard, and if don't like it don't show up! So consumer, if you're hungry and the food is reasonably good and the waiter is reasonably working his/her tail off, give them a lift for the day--smile, thank them with an added "yes mam," "no mam!" Maybe they're having a bad day too! read more

A friend and I chose to eat at Denny's at 2:am we had a great cook and the waitress she went out of the way to help us and we stayed there for over 3 hours had a great time read more

Today I had such a bad experience at this Denny's . It was a shame because I do enjoy dining here with my family. Our service was really bad, when we received our food i waited for our waitress to come and ask if we needed anything else or simply check on us. Which she never did, my husband got up and asked a waitress in the front who was doing side work and she looked annoyed. He asked for side dishes and instead of getting them to us she went to look for our waitress and said to her that we needed something. So we had to wait foe her to come to our table, mind you, we were the only table at this moment . We got our side dishes and and all of our food except for my food. After 15 mins my husband got up for the 2nd time to ask about my food and she had forgot to put it in . At this point i felt frustrated because the waitress who was in the front was just giving rude looks and starring while we ate. Once my food was ready, again our waitress was no where to be found and the cooks brought me my plate and apologized . The waitress also forgot to bring my drink and my husband got up for the 3rd time, and the cooks had to go look for the waitress . The food was really good, and the cooks were more attentive to us then the waitresses . Denny's you need to hire people who can service great because the food being good is important but also great customer service. read more

Really poor service. Food was cold. Only received part of our order 20 min later and the rest of it 15 min later. Ask for condiments female stated i did not. Beware goto Perkins alot better food and service read more

It's okay for a chain diner. There are some freezing spots in dining area. Service and food presentation are so-so.

Service was fine, I found the food to be bland. I didn't know bacon could be sliced so thin. The quality of the food wasn't what I was used to. I hadn't eaten at Denny's for quite awhile, now I remember why! read more

Grave yard waitress was rude and nasty. The first time I ever ate there they tragicly messed up my order and refund any compensation it's gotten alot better. read more

Pretty typical Denny's, food you can eat but nothing to get excited about. Service is good here. I think prices at Denny's are pretty high for what you get but it's not horrible read more

Rough.... I couldn't understand what was getting cooked or what was happening in the back bunch of Spanish speaking, bla bla thought we lived in North America, English is what I was taught in school.. also my portion was extremely small versus plate. Left the place still hungry after I ordered the country fried steak it was the size of a baseball with a small amount of gravy barely covering one side of the patty.. handful of hash browns and when a guy says over med on eggs that's what he wants not over easy, or well... med! Simple stuff if you know how to cook! read more

Wow I did not know such a lousy Denny's existed in this part of the world. We ordered 3 salads. I salad looked good the other 2 were Caesar salad with lots of lettuce and little of any thing else. All 3 were same price. When she brought them, I looked shocked. She asked why. I said look at difference. She wound up bringing more vegetables to put on it, but it wasn't very good dressing. Then we also asked for a side of french fries which came with about half of what I thought we were going to be getting. The waitress was extremely pleasant, the food was what some managers idea of what not to serve. It was odd. read more

We got take out at work. Went to go pick it up and they forgot the shakes with the order but i also forgot to ask about them before leaving. When i got back to work i called and they said it was no problem and brought the shakes to me at work. I was ok with going back and getting them myself. I was impressed and they were super friendly Michele Lewis is always on top of things and she got them to us very quickly, she is a great manager. I love Denny's and the great service every time i go in or order online. read more

I am in Idaho on business and have been here for two months eating breakfast at denny's on Sunday become a normal thing I sit at the counter the service is great but there is one young lady in particular that was always working very hard and was very friendly even though she was pregnant and just welcomed a new little boy to her family her name is Lashell her bosses should be proud to have her I would like to wish good luck and happiness with her family! read more

The Denny's which is located in Burley, Idaho is an overall great place to stop by and eat. The atmosphere is very welcoming, wait staff is extremely nice and easy going. They are willing to accommodate for some allergies or tolerances you may have (may cost extra for gluten free menu items) food prices are well priced for an evening out at a sit down restaurant. As well as the restaurant is open 24 hours a day and you are able to come in and eat whenever you need/want! read more

Inexperienced. Opening a new restaurant is challenging, but you should've worried about the service as much as getting the building built. Lets begin with the hostess. we had to wait extremely long to get seated. Why ask for our party name, do you need our driver's license too? The waitress was alright, except for the fact that it took a while to get our drinks and other requests. This place seems like it is very disorganized when it comes to rushes. Overall the food was ok but the organization and service is the big factor that determines a customer's return. Will go to other places for better food, prices, portions, and service! read more

Very standard Denny's, which means 2 AM drunken breakfast. This was a great choice after The Asylum.

Clean, family friendly environment. Loved my server. Came as a girls night and we weren't rushed to leave. Drinks were always full and the service was top notch. I will definitely be eating here again when I visit Idaho in the future. Best Denny's I've been at in a long time. read more

I like this place don't know what these ppl are talking about the food was good the ppl that work here are nice

Placed order online. Arrived at restaurant at exact time to pick up order. Order was not ready. Every time a person went back to ask about it the cook yelled that there were 6 more orders in front of mine. A total of 22 people in the restaurant and they were "busy". Not pleased with watching people standing around and cooks in the back standing around. But they were too busy to get orders out. read more

I am SO disappointed in the manager!! Last night after a local football game my daughter and her friends went to eat and were treated horribly by the "manager". She was rude and told them they were annoying because they, and almost everyone in the restaurant, were teens and were laughing and having fun. They are the late night customers who keep them busy so I was shocked to hear how she insulted them. I have been with this group of teens many times and I'm always proud of them for being kind and responsible. read more

Clean and friendly. Service prompt. Saw the waitress help out an older lady who was having difficulty making herself understood; she brought her something off menu that was asked for. It's clear she knows several of the regulars by name. Still feel like the price point is a bit high but that's on the company. Stuck to the breakfast foods though, not so impressed with the company's lunch/dinner. read more

Mediocre food and terrible service make for an un-enjoyable dining experience. We couldn't find a waitress when we needed one, my daughter's spaghetti had hard noodles and was cold. My wife's burger was burnt. Thankfully my french toast came out okay, but it was still tasteless and bland. Overall I will not be returning. read more

This Denny's was pretty good. We were seated quickly. The place is clean and in good repair. Our order for drinks was taken quickly and brought quickly. I stick to Denny's for breakfast and ordered the southwest skillet. It was served sizzling and was very good, I ate every last bite. The only reason I give it four stars is our server told us she was leaving for a break and we would be covered by another. No one stopped by for about 20 min. We were fine and didn't want or need anything but why tell me that will happen when it won't. read more

Garbage on a plate. Yet, I feel garbage would have SOME flavor. Tried eating here the first month they opened and they were out of most things on the menu. Fair enough. Tried again 6 months later with same results. Won't be going back. read more

Horrible Chicken/Avo Caesar Salad... old romaine lettuce and old avocados. When we complained about this the waitress just said, 'ok'. In a previous visit I was served rotten blueberries. Not the best Denny's I've ever been to. read more
