Well worth the stop. Yeah it's a truck stop diner. The food is really good if you like an old fashioned American breakfast. The coffee taste great and the staff keeps it full while you wait for your food. The gravy so really creamy and savoury, how do they do it? The bacon is this and crispy. At their often while working in Burley. Food was decent, service was acceptable. Smaller portions but generally prepared correctly and reasonably hot. A little pricy but that's to be expected here. Would return if in the area. read more

Renae our server was very friendly and helpful! The food was very good and well-portioned. The ambiance was fantastic and we really enjoyed ourselves. I had the hamburger with fries and my husband had the chicken fried steak with fries, a side house salad with blue cheese dressing (awesome croutons), green beans, a roll. and banana crunch cake which they split into two portions for us to share. We were traveling through town and stopped by randomly as it was around lunch time. We didn't look up reviews, but there were a lot of cars in the parking lot so we gave it a chance. Went for brunch on a Sunday around noon; the place was hopping! Ordered an omelette and the two-egg breakfast, both with a pancake. Wayside is classic Idaho roadside fare. Typical cafe food with an all day breakfast menu. A local stop for breakfast and lunch that always has specials on the board. Service is fine but not amazing. Food comes out slow and when it does it's fine. There is nothing modern, fusion or cutting edge about the place and thats how locals want it. The pie is good and seems fresh made. read more

Very busy place!! Food was an hour wait. Traveling with chicken fried steak lover and he was not impressed. Their CFS is "rubbery" and lacks flavor. Portion s are huge. Breakfast sandwich with sourdough was best ever!! Highly recommend eggs Benedict!! Very flavorful!! The scone (fry bread) was fried dough. No flavor. I added butter and honey, that was 3/10. Hash browns are crispy on outside and mushy in middle. I enjoyed them‍ Service was good. For as busy as they were 6/10. Some sassy comments to other diners but like I said it was VERY busy so... Oh my! The food and service at Wayside Cafe is phenomenal. We have visited family numerous times in Rupert and never knew about this road side diner until our recent visit. It's truly a hidden gem. All of the dishes we tried during our recent 10-day stay in Rupert- breakfast, lunch and dinner were excellent. Breakfast steak was good and most surprising was the Trucker's Special - a ten ounce sirloin so tender and juicy. It's as good as any high quality steak house. No need for steak sauce. All of the meals includes soup/salad, vegetables, and even a dessert of the day. Prices are awesome and affordable. Hence, another reason we came six times during our stay. Whenever in the Burley/Rupert area be sure to eat at the Wayside Cafe. They are open 24-hours. read more

We live in Washington, but we always try to time our trips to eat breakfast here. The service is excellent and the food is great!

Now that's a breakfast! It just doesn't get any better. Reminded me of the diners back in Jersey. The portions were large. All the items, omelette, filings, hash browns, toast and coffee were all fresh, tasty on hot. The one item that was really special was the sausage in the omelet. Just perfect. Waitstaff also 5 star. So good the first day we passed the bfast at the hotel and came right back a second time. read more

After visiting City of Rocks in Almo, we wanted to have dinner but most restaurants near City of Rocks were only open on Wednesday- Saturday. We found Wayside Cafe in Yelp and decided to gave it a try since it's on our way back to Twin Falls. They are open 24/7 and breakfast food is available to order all day. Food was great and staff were nice. The chocolate pie was delicious. We recommend this place. read more

This place is an old school hometown diner that has great service & delicious food! I ordered the "All American Breakfast" with ham & it was all cooked perfectly. The ham had been cooked with that perfect amount of griddle char that really brings the flavor out. Eggs were also cooked perfect. Generous servings, homemade shredded hash browns, white gravy was very good (this is 1 of our measures for if we come back for breakfast). Horrible experience at the Wayside tonight. While starting to eat our dinner, one of the waitresses decided to start cleaning the windows next to our booth. The aerosol spray drifted to our table and our food was coated in window cleaner. When we told the waitress when we got the bill, we were still expected to pay even though we couldn't finish our meal. On the drive home we were still tasting the window cleaner. Rude waitress and will NEVER eat there again! Would give ZERO stars if I could. read more

Their Blueberry Pie was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Hands down best blueberry pie I have ever had. Tasted like wild blueberries with a perfect sugar glaze on the crust--5/5 stars for sure. WOULD LEAVE A PHOTO OF THE PIE BUT I ATE IT TOO QUICKLY TO TAKE ONE. The inside of the cafe has a nice looking and sturdy wood ceiling. It's a super clean yet classic diner experience. We had been on the road for several hours today. When we came in for dinner, we both decided that baked potatoes sounded good. I had a dinner salad with baked potato. DH had beef soup with a loaded baked potato. Dinner really hit the spot, and then I found the pies and cookies. I took home a piece of the coconut cream pie, it was delicious the next day. We showed up at 9:15pm to celebrate my sister's graduation. We asked for a table for 8. The left side of the cafe is "closed". The right side is packed. One of the servers goes to look for a spot for us. The hostess says "Table for 8?" My mom says "yes, 8" The hostess states, as she's checking out someone else "there is no room for them!" I repeat " there's no room for us?" The hostess then replies "yes, no room". The server at this time says that she found us a spot. However, by this time my mom and I are upset. If this is how you show customers how they are too be treated before they are even to be seated then you don't deserve our business. This is not good customer service. read more

I've been here many times. Food has always been good and service is great even though they tend to get very busy. Had a problem today as I ordered the sausage and cheese omelet. Asked for mushrooms.
