After reading some mixed reviews, we decided to give this restaurant a try. Overall the food and service was amazing! My wife had the bourbon burger with sweet potato fries. I had the prime rib dip and clown . My daughter had the soup, sandwich and salad combo and my son had the gluten-free flatbread pepperoni pizza. Everything looked amazing. The salads were crisp and cold. The clam chowder was delicious, although I'm used to it being a little more creamier, but it was still quite delicious. My wife's burger looked amazing but she felt the meat didn't have much flavor to it. My kids enjoyed their meals. We will definitely be back when we're in the area as the views were very nice being on the Snake river. The only bad part was they are not pet friendly and would not allow us to bring our small dog onto the patio so we had to sit inside the restaurant and look out the window and keep the car running so dog did not get overheated. We were unaware of this great restaurant until yesterday. We love the architecture, very modern, open and comfortable. Being right on the river with covered outdoor seating gave us a great view of the water, and boating a activities. Seating was comfortable, clean tables, and spacious arrangement. We saw several outdoor gas fireplace which would be nice on cool evenings. The staff were well mannered, attentive, dressed well (uniform); no facial piercings, tattoos or bizzare hair. The menu choices were somewhat limited,which we liked, and this is not a bad thing. The focus was doing things well not schlepping a plate of undercooked or greasy tastless prepackaged food. It is so great to have a restaurant that is not a Mexican, fast food or truck stop restaurant in our area. Having worked in a restaurant years ago I know the best thing any customer can do is tell the manager if you have had a good experience or if not pleased ask to speak to the manager and recount your concerns whether it was good quality or staff/server attention. Traveling and stopped in burley for the night. Found this gem on Yelp and gave it a try. So glad we did. Service was attentive and relaxed. Ordered the Caesar salad, calamari, filet mignon and baked potato. Everything was fantastic. Cooked exactly as we wanted. House made blue cheese dressing for my side salad was amazing. Small town in nowhere Idaho (Rupert) so the choices are limited. That said this one is conveniently located next to the new Hampton Inn (10% discount for guests) and overlooks the river. Nice location. Big facility with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. This is not particularly upscale in decor. Cloth napkins yes, but no tablecloths. That's ok, just what it is. For dinner I had the Caesar salad with salmon. Very good. Salmon was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Dressing was good and the salad was finished with croutons and shaved parm. Very good! Service was a bit slow. The crew are courteous but inexperienced. I was in no hurry but someone might wonder, where did they go? A missed opportunity for a place that actually has a fantastic view. The food is subpar at best--overpriced, pre-packaged items that arrive reheated and lacking any real distinction. You sit there staring at the water, wondering why anyone would build something with this kind of location and then refuse to put genuine effort into it. The owners need to decide what they want to be: fine dining or a casual chain like Applebee's. Trying to be both simply does not work. It results in a glossy, expensive version of mediocrity that respects neither the surroundings nor the people who walk through the door. It has real potential. All it would take is commitment. I came in at 4:30 pm on a Tuesday to eat dinner. I was seated at a table and provided a menu. I waited 10 minutes and a waiter never came by to take an order or to offer a glass of water. So I left. There were a handful of other seated tables in the restaurant, so it definitely was not busy. No one was at the host stand when I walked out so I couldn't ask an employee for assistance. read more

I held off on coming here because of the poor reviews. With that said, the food was really delicious and came out fast. Beautiful view and atmosphere. Servers were friendly. I got the chicken picatta and garlic parm fries. Super yummy. Though the veggies are obviously a generic frozen mix, they were really well seasoned and the best frozen veggie mix I've had. My husband had the Cajun pasta and it was too spicy for both of us. That's on us, though he did ask the waitress about it before ordering so some kind of clue from her or on the menu would have been appreciated. But it had a good flavor and great pasta. My side salad was good and fresh and the French onion soup was amazing. After the meal- the service went downhill. We finished our food and sat for a while before being able to ask for boxes and a dessert menu. Then we sat for a good fifteen minutes before deciding we'll forego dessert because it was taking too long. Sat for another 5-10 minutes and the waitress still hadn't shown up so my husband went to just pay the bill at the hostess stand where he found four employees, including the manager and our waitress, just standing there talking. So... it started out as a 5 star experience but de-escalated quickly which makes me sad because I really did want to leave a great review for these guys. read more

I put one star because there is no option for zero stars. The venue is beautiful- right on the Snake River, boats passing by, decor and design is great. They were under staffed and had two 18 people parties on the patio before our six person party. It took 15 minutes to take our drink order. Twenty minutes later the drinks came out. Mixed drinks were light on the alcohol. The smoked old fashioned was undrinkable. 30 minutes later the food came. Sloppy plating with sauces on the plates. Pork chop and halibut were dry. Garlic mashed potatoes were a ghastly yellow color and way too salty. My ribeye was cooked as requested but was a thin cut with lots of fat. The compound butter was the best part (not good). Second round of drinks took another twenty minutes and the margaritas had little to no tequila. Bartender was terrible. I tipped the waitress because she was trying hard (20% cause I'm not a dick). Worst lunch I ever paid $417 for. Maybe they will go bankrupt and I can pick up the great property for cheap. They will be bankrupt soon if they serve more meals like this. read more

The atmosphere by the river was great. The prime rib sandwich and chef salad were good but i have never had worse service. Our wine & beer were left on the bar for about 15 min until i got tired of waiting & went to the bar & got them myself. We got our food and ordered an additional drink but waited again and finally had to go to the bar & retrieve my own drinks that were sitting there with no employees around. Never got water or extra dressing he forgot. What a shame. Nice venue, decent food but absolutely horrible customer service and no manager on duty to discuss the problem with. read more

we have tried this place 5 times since it has opened. each time i think it got a little worse. the food is expensive and comparable to a perkins's quality. i really was hoping it would be great this town needs some variety that is good. the location is great. the decor is boring. we have had ok food but nothing that is great or would make me want to go back. each time we have been there the service has been pretty bad either slow or extremely rude servers. dont waste your money there are better places in town. read more

Top notch food, clean and amazing interior, and the patio has great views. The service was kind and very friendly, but quite slow. Maybe that was because we dined in that time in-between lunch and dinner (we stopped for food whilst passing through town on a road trip). The restaurant is in an incredible location! We went there because it was on the riverfront and heard it had amazing sunset views. Indeed it did!! It was a bit cold so we did sit inside. I asked to sit by a window and she put us by a window that looked into the enclosed patio area. It was a Monday evening so it was not busy at all. Not sure why she didn't put us in the patio ( there were other people in there) The waitress seemed new as she did not know what the soup of the day was or a few other details that we wanted to know. The food was pretty good. We both got steaks and they were cooked to our liking. The prices were pretty high but that may be because of the location. I probably wouldn't have minded the price if we were sitting outside enjoying the views. I would recommend this restaurant on a cool summer evening to watch the sunset while enjoying a glass of wine. But don't expect because you're paying a higher price that you'll get over the top service or food. Enjoy. read more

I had a very frustrating experience. I asked to substitute chicken for the beef on the Swiss mushroom burger. The manager said that would be an up charge of $5.00. Then I tried to make substitutions and delete items like bacon on the chicken and avocado sandwich. The manager refused. Both of these decisions seemed nonsensical and far too rigid for a restaurant striving to be successful. read more

This will be an honest review no affiliation with anyone or anything or any establishments. Got there at 5:00 my party didn't show up till 5:15. We ordered appetizers the calamari and the stuffed mushrooms for the price neither one of them was substantial enough for two people. We both had steak our salad with mediocre they put the salad dressing little bowl on top of the salad which is gross and there was a lot of brown lettuce in there and the tomatoes were not very red and there was only one small cherry tomato cut in half. I ordered the filet and my partner ordered the New York Steak. My fillet was very good I ordered a baked potato and it wasn't hot enough to even melt the butter because the butter came Frozen which is a bad thing for a restaurant the New York State person his was good he liked it. For dessert I had the creme brulee and he ordered the cookie thing with ice cream, I got my creme brulee first and then we continue to wait another 15 minutes for his dessert when it should have been brought out at the same time. And then our server messed up the first bill and then the second bill was the corrected one but that one was still wrong because there was an appetizer on there that we didn't order. Our server was Nola and she didn't even come to check on his mid meal would I go back again no. And the restaurant was pretty empty like maybe three other tables. read more

Beautiful Restaurant, very nice people. We were very excited to try "the new place in town". We called in for short notice reservations a couple times prior and were told they were booked. Appreciate the honesty rather than making us wait a long time for a table and not having server or kitchen capacity to serve us. Tonight I made a reservation for six. We arrived and were promptly seated by a very friendly and cheerful hostess. The Restaurant is absolutely beautiful inside. Well designed and tastefully decorated. Can't wait till summer to eat with river views in the daylight. Our server suggested their Jalapeño Dip and homemade chips as an appetizer. We also ordered the pulled pork nachos to have plenty to share. The homemade chips and Jalapeño dip is a real winner. The nachos not so much. Nachos had a cheese sauce on them that reminded me of what you get in a gas station or cheap Mexican fast food definitely not worthy of the look, feel or expectation of this place. On the positive apps came out quickly and well ahead of our entree's. Our server brought fresh bread as well. It was possibly the winner of the night. Most of our table ordered light, I ordered the MahiMahi which came with a dinner salad. The salad was pretty mediocre, I ordered it with Blue Cheese dressing. While I don't think what I got was blue cheese the dressing was very nice and I ate the big chunky stemmy lettuce just to get all the dressing. We had a wide variety of entrees at the table, MahiMahi, burgers, fish tacos, prime rib Philly. With a full variety of sides. My mahi-mahi was cooked perfectly, tender and moist Cuddos on getting it right. Unfortunately there was no taste, the fish doesn't really carry much flavor naturally so it depends on a good preparation. This one missed the mark, I found myself searching for another caper or something on my plate to smear it in to let my pallet know I was eating. It came with steamed vegetables which were tender but not mushy, just how I like, and a baked potato which to my surprise was smeared in that nasty nacho cheese sauce. That was a real let down, how can you do that to a beautiful baked potato and in such a nice restaurant. Didn't see that coming. The others at the table found much the same, presentation was nice but the food lacked flavor and definitely didn't match the beauty of the building and decor or the kindness and cheer of the staff. The burgers were very disappointing, small, over cooked (ordered medium and appeared and tasted beyond well) and lost in a huge bun, then served with fast food style fry's from the freezer, in the fresh potato capitol of the world one would expect better. I have traveled extensively and eaten in many of the worlds best restaurants and unfortunately a few of the worlds worst. EdgeWater is neither. We'll return and try the steaks, maybe that will be where the magic lies. They did a lot of things right and I have high hopes for the future. Coming back from Salt Lake City with my in laws looking for a sit down restaurant for lunch and came across Edgewater. Loved the location on the river and a new establishment that is very modern and clean. Waited for about 10 minutes before being greated by a server to take our drink order. Took about 10 more minutes to bring our drinks, asked for straws, waited and waited and waited! Finally got up and found the straws myself. Server took our food order when she brought the drinks which was great. We ordered 3 salads with salmon and a flatbread pizza which should have taken about 20 maybe 25 minutes! Finally after asking 40 minutes into it where our order was we finally got our food! And the restaurant only had maybe 5 tables full which had already been served with food. The food was delicious and salmon was cooked perfectly so that was great. The wait staff was far from impressive! It would be a great establishment if the staff cared! Took my daughter and grandkids to lunch here yesterday. Beautiful views, but the food was just okay. It definitely wasn't worth the $113.40 for lunch. The chicken was incredibly dry. I definitely wouldn't recommend the additional $6.00 to add it to a Cobb Salad. The big surprise was when I got the bill. The waiter never mentioned that there would be an additional $2.00 charge to add dressing to a salad. If you want to go for the views...you won't be disappointed. I wouldn't recommend going for the food. read more
