Honestly, the food is bad and the service is even worse. We were promptly seated on a Saturday night and noticed there were only about 3 other tables of people for dinner on a Saturday evening. (yikes) Jada was our server...and it was just terrible. Everything took SO LONG. We ordered drinks and apps, but they came wrong, and we asked for a few appetizer plates, and it literally took her 12 minutes to come back with 4 small plates. She was unsure of how the menu works. My son ordered a chicken fried steak, on the menu, it says "comes with mashed potatoes, and corn" and then she informed him, he also got to pick two other sides. (so he picked soup and fries...to share with me since I ordered a salad)....his food comes....just FRIES and soup...It would have been nice if she would have came back and ASKED him what two sides he wanted instead of deciding for him. My mom ordered a plain baked potato and the steak that was on special. ...Her baked potato came loaded (wrong) and the steak was literally burned to a crisp and impossible for anyone at the table to eat. We also received the wrong salad dressing on our salads. I was also SHOCKED that they charge for refills on sodas or lemonades. They didn't mention it up front, and that is just so tacky. My family's experience was very disappointing. We chose to eat here based on specials that had been posted to Facebook so everyone already knew what they wanted. Unfortunately those specials were not honored in the restaurant. Additionally the service was terrible. We were attended to by multiple servers who all seemed either brand new and unsupervised or just uncaring. Communication among the staff is non existent. The food wasn't anything to recommend to others and also expensive for the quality. Dried out mashed potatoes, soggy watered down salad, over done steak, cold fries. Drinks were never refilled without being asked for several times. Worst of all, the table next to us was allowed to bring their large dog out to share the patio. It whined, and barked and slopped water everywhere for the duration of the meal. This went unacknowledged by the staff. The cost was much too high for what was received. read more

I'm writing this review as both a customer and former employee. This is simply an opinion and entirely alleged :) I always recommend experiencing things for yourself before taking internet reviews as the truth. I've included both pros and cons to the place, as it's equally important to highlight the good in juxtaposition to the bad. The servers are all committed to providing the best service possible, and it's always important to remember that what the kitchen does at a restaurant is not the server's fault! Those are two completely different parts of the machine that work independently with small areas of overlap. There were times where my table would order prime rib, but the kitchen denied the order because the ordered meat temperature was no longer available (i.e. customer ordered medium rare, kitchen told me they'd have to order medium or anything above that). Although I cannot say for sure why that may be, my educated guess says that this means the cuts are slow cooked over the course of the evening, meaning that the closer it is to closing time, the less chances you have of getting rare or medium rare temperatures. To touch more on service (and to reiterate how hard servers work), it can be hard to provide attentive and timely service when the owner takes food out to his friend's table without telling the assigned server. At times, I waited patiently for food to come out and, upon asking the kitchen where the order was, found out that the owner had taken it out 10 mins ago. It's incredibly embarrassing to show up to a table 10 mins after they got their food to ask if everything is right. At that point, all there's left to do is ask if anyone will be needing a box. The unintentional lack of service affects tips, and the interference slows down a server's entire flow. From a customer experience, I've always gotten good service, but sometimes the center of the baked potato is still pretty cold (cooked, but cold). The bar drinks are alright, but nothing to write home about. They could be much better if a bartender was hired, but both during my tenure and as a customer drinks were made by servers. Servers are servers, not bartenders, and though they're given training on how to make the drinks, they aren't trained to bartend, which does impact quality (coming from someone who has bartending experience outside of Morey's). Something you SHOULD write home about is the sushi! The sushi is delicious, and really the only place in town you can get sushi besides the grocery store. The sushi chefs take pride in their work and are knowledgeable on the rolls they make. The place is very family oriented (crayons available for kiddos!) and patron demographic primarily consists of locals and business folks passing through town. It's one of the nicer places to eat in town, though by no means formal. Needless to say, my review reflects MY personal experience. I haven't returned in over a year, so there is a chance that the restaurant has made positive changes! I hope to all stopping in that their experience is pleasant and of means to return. read more

We went around 6:30 on a Friday night and they sat us right away. Our waitress was SO cute and extremely helpful! One of us has celiac disease so she was ordering gluten free food. She clarified about it being gluten friendly or celiac related. She was very careful about the food she was serving us. The food was delicious and didn't take very long to get it. We use to love coming here and getting to go orders and eating on the boat. Last year it was gross so we stopped ordering from here. We decided to give it a try tonight and it's just disgusting. My hubby and I chose to eat here while we were passing through Burley ID. We were looking forward to getting a steak because we saw a lot of Angus cows around, while driving. The first thing you notice when you walk in is that it is very bright, and loud. Definitely a bar type atmosphere. The waiter was very courteous and prompt. She took good care of us. She gets five stars. We had a beer and a cup of egg drop soup to start. We ordered a ribeye steak with baked potato and fresh broccoli. First off let's talk about the soup, if you can call it that. It was awful. By no means egg drop soup. Didn't eat it. We ordered our ribeye medium rare. It came to the table mostly raw. Very fatty as well. We sent it back to cook a bit more. Did not improve it. But the steak did have a good flavor and was mostly tender. Just too much gristle.Disappointing. We had sautéed onions and mushrooms with the steak. They were very tasty. Almost didn't go given all the bad reviews, but I did and was happy. First, they're stuck with the 'Yelp mischaracterization".namely, How does Burger King get a higher rating than this. They're in totally different classes. Anyway... Food was good and place was very nice. I left satisfied and full without a Ritz bill. The negs... Filmy silverware rolled in a napkin? Really? That's on par with burger king. Also, chef does not know how to trim or cook a steak. Mine was cooked at waaay too low a temperature. Leaves it stringy. They need to revisit their grill. (Funny all the locals around me were ordering shrimp and salads.) Baked potato was good. Salad too. Great beer selection, though the locals were drinking wine. This is a great place to eat a wonderful meal right off the highway between Pocatello and Twin Falls Idaho in the town of Burley Idaho! Tons of great food on their menu. Steaks are to die for, fish and chips is my favorite my husband loves their steaks. This is a really nice restaurant. All seating has a great view of the river. Super friendly staff and wonderful people around you. Ducks outside along the bank's of the lovely river. People pulling up in their boat's to the dock's to eat at Morey's Steakhouse. Well, I went back with friends from a conference in Burley (it was their choice), and it wasn't on my dime. That's the good news. If you know me, I treasure a good martini and a lobster tail. I would marry a lobster if it asked me. Martini was OK, shaken and presented well. House salad was OK. Chilled, with just enough accompaniments to satisfy, but the romaine was a bit tough and chewy. I'll let that slide. A hot loaf of sourdough bread was chewy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. So far so OK. Ahhh, here comes the lobster tail and a loaded baked potato. Looks damn good, huh? I was giddy and couldn't wait for that first bite! The lobster was cooked just right, succulent and glistening. Cut off a bite, dipped it in the "butter" and nearly gagged. It was either margarine or salted butter, but it was so salty it was inedible. Called the server over, "Is this salted butter? Do you have any unsalted butter?" "I'll ask the chef," she said. Came back, she said the chef said we don't use unsalted butter. O.M.G. Delicate, creamy, fragrant lobster should be the star, dipped in unsalted, high quality clarified butter. Unfortunately no one at Morey's knows that. Ate two bites, the first one in the salt mine butter, and a second one when the server brought another melted butter and said try this one. No go. We came into town on a Monday night and we're so happy to find this place! We sat in the bar area and it looked as it had been quite busy earlier. Nice that there were TV screens in here and we got a nice little booth. My dinner partner ordered an oriental bowl and I had the Ahi. We saw there was a sushi bar to sit at, but ordered some instead. Quite a large menu. The place looks a little funky on the set up for seating or else I would have given it more stars. Kind staff and pretty good grub. Great portion sizes. Both mashed potatoes and baked potato were cold. Mine was cold enough that it never melted the butter of cheese. Our server came back when we were almost finished.I then told him about the cold potatoes and he said that it was cold because of the toppings. Really wanted to like this place but it's in our town and I would have loved a really great restaurant to go to all the time. However... it didn't meet the mark. We walked in and waited a while by the hostess stand because no hostess was there. They had just opened 20 minutes before and it wasn't busy at all but because staff wasn't paying attention we were waiting. It was a clean restaurant with a great view. I'm sure sitting outside by the water is just fantastic on a nice warm night. My husband got the Alfredo, I got the chicken Alfredo, we got our kids the Mac and cheese. We all got water except for my husband got a soda. No appetizer. Bill came out to $50 before tip... ouch. My husband and I are fine paying $50 for a good meal but this was just alright. Pasta just as good as Olive Garden (which in my option) isn't saying much. The side salad was fine but it was just lettuce with a little cheese, ranch, and a single olive. We added up our meal to try figure out what costed so much and it was the kids meals. They were like $8 a piece. I don't think I've ever paid that much for a kids meal ever. Two kids meals I might as well just got them one adult meal for that price. Is this place in general expensive, no but for what you get yes. I'd rather spend $50 else where. But truthfully I've never spent that much on a single kids meal. Don't think we will be back and if we ever have to I'm gonna skip on the kids meal. read more

Wait person wasn't at all friendly..never had a smile..acted like our table of 8 was an imposition. Baked potatoes had that Brown overcooked texture, look and taste, even though it was 7 pm. No salad for the one person who ordered a salad. Had to ask for it from another server. Half the orders came out together, the other half far later. The first 4 people were nearly finished with their meal before the other 4 people ever received their meal. Wag steak was awful..overcooked and had a funky flavor, like the dry aging had gone on just a bit long and it was almost to the point of turning. Should have sent it back after the first bite but had waited forever to finally be served so...paid for a steak that ended up being taken home and fed to the dog. Really nice view, but ehhh. When we came here to stop for dinner before continuing our family road trip, the view and atmosphere were really nice. The soup and appetizer were good, and we were satisfied. The entree came, and it was a disaster. I ordered salmon, and the broccoli on the side was cold and raw. The mashed potato was watery and blah. The salmon was SUPER stringy. We walked out with a bill of $100+ leaving unsatisfied, barely eating anything, and heading to Denny's instead. The place should be an amazing restaurant, it looks good, is in the right location, right on the river however the food absolutely sucks. I have had several steak dishes, fish dishes, appetizers, several pasta dishes and sandwich dishes. There is no flavor and no technique in making the dishes. so much of it is canned or frozen not fresh. Something as simple as Cesar salad which I was guaranteed was a Cesar wasn't right it came out as a house salad with watery Caesar dressing on it. I have tried this restaurant quite a few times and have to say I have never been impressed, the food has never been freshly made or good. A little tip. Hire a REAL chef!!!
