Hubby ordered the Country fried steak, top with country style cream gravy, and garden salad. Hubby ate everything on his plate! Emma, our waitress also gave us a complimentary dessert. While the food was delicious, we waited an hour and twenty minutes for our food. We sat down at 1:47 PM and didn't get our food until 3:08 PM. Very disappointed in the speed of service and the inattention by the waitresses to keep our drinks filled while waiting. There were 8 other parties there, the largest being 4 people, I do not understand why there was such a long wait. Upon entering the restaurant, there is no one to greet/seat you. Prepare to wait several minutes, and I DO mean SEVERAL. People hovered at the cashier station waiting to be seated and there were several people waiting to pay their bill after their meal. We reviewed the menu then ordered drinks and our meals. I specifically asked for ketchup while ordering my meal as I hate having my food delivered and have it become cold while waiting for the server to circle back. It took over an hour to receive our meal. Once the food was placed on the table the server, Tiffany, asked if we needed anything else. I looked at my plate only to see fry sauce with my meal. I removed the fry sauce from my plate, placed it on the table and said, "I specifically asked for ketchup with my meal, NOT fry sauce. And we have no eating utensils or napkins." She turned on her heel, returned shortly and literally SLAMMED the ketchup bottle on the table while stating snottily, "For your information, your meal COMES with fry sauce, not ketchup, and the napkins COME with the utensils!! And YOU might work on your attitude!" She then slammed our bill on the table, then stormed off never to be seen again. We never did get our drinks refilled, nor additional napkins that were needed. Nor were we asked if we wanted to order dessert. We paid our bill and returned to the car that was parked just outside the restaurant. I sat there watching through the window. The cashier must've told Tiffany that the coast was clear as Tiffany popped her head out of the kitchen doorway and scanned the restaurant looking for us. Coward. Tiffany seems to be costing Perkins money with her arrogant attitude and her blatant lack of customer service. They will get no repeat business from me! My wife and family have been to this spot for breakfast and dinner for years now. Yes this is a nationwide chain. But don't let that fool you. This food, is very good food. If you can't find something to enjoy, shame on you. The service has always been excellent. Some of the waitresses come and go, but it has never been horrible. Brought the wife for breakfast on Christmas Eve and enjoyed it. She got the Eggs Benedict with Avocado, and I got the tremendous twelve with an extra side of bacon with no pancakes. The food was good and filled us up. We have had their pies and muffins, and those are all delicious as well. I recommend highly. read more

I will admit they were busy. But I ordered turkey and dressing. My green beans were dried out and looked like they were days old. The turkey had been microwaved so much I could not cut it. What they called dressing was dry and hard and cold. I could have broken a window with a "dressing ball". Nothing on my plate was even warm and we waited a long time to get food. It should have taken a picture of the food to show how bad it was but I did not have my phone. I can't believe someone felt it was ok to send that out of a kitchen. I ask them to bring me what my husband ordered. Almost 30 minutes later a burger arrived and wasn't the same as he had (it was dry). So I gave up on eating. We also had trouble getting tea refills. From the moment I walked in an older lady said to me, "It's terrible service and I wouldn't even bother." I thought it was actually rude and thought id still give it a chance.. I wish I didn't. The food was ROCK HARD. Eggs and Crepes were so cold. I almost wanted to throw up. My daughters food was fine, however- it just made me sick. We didn't get straws, or anyone to check on us after giving us the food. I had to get up and ask for the bill after 30 min of waiting. I used to like this place but sadly I'll never go back. She said "Sorry I tried to give you a discount on your meal but it won't let me, oops." I had to pay full price for food I had one bite out of. 10.00 down the drain for my meal. The Perkins are all over, but the last time I was ever in one was back when I lived in New Jersey. They don't have them in Texas. The only comparison I can give of this place is that it is on par with an IHOP or a Denny's. Same type of place and the quality of the food is basically the same. Not bad, not great, but decent. I ended up having two meals here. Dinner and breakfast. Dinner was a turkey special. Sliced turkey breast, gravy, cranberry sauce and stuffing with two sides (baked potato and broccoli) It was ok. The broccoli was a little overdone and the potato could have been hotter but the food was ok. My server was a little frazzled and some of the orders at the other tables were getting mixed up, but I got everything ok and she "table-touched" a number of times. Breakfast was brioche french toast with eggs and bacon (plus and extra side of bacon) Can one ever get enough bacon? I think not. The french toast was melt in the mouth good. I will say that was the best part of both meals I had there. The eggs were good but the bacon could have been a little crispier. The service was fine and she did everything well. Perkins is not a place I'd go out of my way for, but with the limited selection in the area, it did just fine. read more

Clean and very nicely kept. About 1/3 to 1/4 full each time we went so seating was quick with service right away. Waitresses we're attentive with service with a smile. Menu was typical Perkins choices and made with that homemade feel. A good place to go for a meal that's better than the fast food stuff. You won't be disappointed. read more

On a positive note, they have great pie although i think they are bought and brought in frozen. The roast beef was mush. By mush i mean it was as though it had been put through a food processor for an elderly person who is unable to chew. The beef gravy was way too salty and the mashed potatoes were obviously reheated and crusty/crunchy. The asparagus was burned black on one side. I dont mean grill marks, i mean laid on a flat top grill and allowed to stay on one side until it was burned black along 50% (one whole side) of the entire surface area of the stem. Besides this it was over cooked in that it was grilled to mush with no crunch of any sort. Luckily, i ate in the bar area and not in the actual restaurant so i had quick access to Vodka, and this meal needed Vodka or the taste buds of a toothless 90 year old. I wish I'd caught her name so I could give her a shoutout. She has very long brown hair and long lashes. Buyer beware: This place has some serious money handling issues with their servers. I gave Perkins management the opportunity to respond to our issues described below, and after 48 hours, no one has replied. My family stayed at the Burley Inn for three nights. We ate at the restaurant twice. The first time, the server never brought our credit card back after 30+ minutes. We had to go retrieve it. I wonder what her plans were for keeping the card and putting it in the hotel safe? The second time, we attempted to avoid the credit card issue and gave a different server our payment in cash. She left the table with $46 (two 20s and six 1s). A few moments later she came back saying she needed more money and showed us $23. We said that three of us saw her walk away with the $46 and she needed to go find it. She wandered around and came back to the table. She refused to compromise or believe us. We gave her the credit card and paid full price but left no (more) tip. The food is mediocre. The service is average. The money handling is borderline fraudulent. I ordered roast beef stroganoff. What I got was not stroganoff but I don't know what I would call it. The noodles were very overcooked and had a small amount of sauce that did not have any taste of sour cream. It was all stuck together in one blob. It was totally covered in onions, then a small amount of roast beef that had no sauce on it. This was drizzled with a bit of sour cream. I ate the beef, it was good but didn't have any sauce on it. I tried to call in an order an the woman seemed not only annoyed but very confused as she asked me "for how many?" when I asked to place an order. After I was told one of the items was out of stock I said I was fine with just the one item which was followed up with a "that's all?" as if she was very much put out by this request. I then show up to pick up my ONE item and they claim the ticket didn't print so the order was not ready. I tried to add on a muffin after asking which flavors were available and after the woman checked she said the flavor was available - when I go to check out that muffin wasn't available and then a couple of minutes later it was?
